Played the whole week, didn't had any problems before, but now the same trouble.
seams that the EA servers are down.
Workaround for Single Player:
  • Start Origin.
  • Go to settings.
  • Set Origin to Offline mode.
  • start the game.
If you are not able to log in to Origin, unplug your internet connection, than start the game from the Desktop Shortcut or direktly from the EXE.

Edit: clarification

dafuq? I have more than 450 games on my Steam account and I've never had a problem myself, in the rare event there IS a problem it is announced immediately on the forums, and fixed fast no matter the hour of the day, or if it during a weekend.

I have only ONE game on origin (sorry, not gonna capitalize the name of this piece of ****) and yet it's been more down than available in the entire week...

Well, after all ea has been voted worst company of the U.S.A. for a reason, I suppose. On the other hand Valve is very high on the list, perhaps ea should have thought of it before selling its soul to the devil.

Sorry, just venting some rage.

I worked out what the unknown error is with Origin.

It can't work out why anyone is bothering trying to play games with such a draconic DRM and game 'service'.

Same here.

And now I am unable to launch any Origin game.

Great.

What really annoys me about this isn't that their online servers are down. Technical faults happen. It's that I now can't play SP. Why the san heck do I need to be connected to their servers to play SINGLE PLAYER?

Games are going more and more this way these days, like everything has to be done over the internet. At least it's not quite as bad as Assassins Creed 2...

Anyone tried checking their multiplayer manifest? I can't even log in to that part of the bioware social account - are these accounts (orgin/bioware social ME3) connected?

Why we must struggle with this pathetic imitation of Steam? Bioware you are corruptible or stupid...

What really IS terrible is that the reason why it says it's "unknown" is because whoever coded this terrible thing, just said:
try { ... } catch(Exception e) {System.out.println("An unknown error has occurred");}.

Meaning their exception handling is ridiculous and does not provide any information on what the error could possibly be. Who wrote this stuff?

That's what I am annoyed with too. I can't log into origin so I can't play offline games I paid for.

Tried just now, it asked me for the password like the first time, kept loading for a while and then asked for the password again...

So we get no official acknowledgement, no apologies and no compensation in sight for being unable to use not only ME3 but now all of the Origin games, and one cannot even use it in offline mode, because you can't log in to Origin at all. Seriously nice going EA. By comparison: when CD Project RED had some issues at the launch of Witcher 2: Assasins of Kings they worked around the clock to resolve it, apologised, gave free DLC to all for the wait, and for everyone who was entitled to early activation of the game, they have given a free T - shirt. And that was a small independent company from Poland, and this is a huge corporate overlord. How is this even happening? They better be coughing up some serious apologies and compensation, or else there just might be a mob of really angry people heading for the EA HQ.
