Now, I'm really pissed off.

I've spent several minutes with EA techies, search this forum and didn't fiond anything, now I want this to work.

My copy is registered, it's not a cracked version of the game. I have an EA and a Bioware account, but when I log in, the Warden's keep and Stone Prisonner add-on are unauthorized.

I know it doesn't change a lot of things to play while I'm not logged in, but I'd like the whole game to work.

Now, EA sent a complicated way of fixing this my fiddling in the daoriginsconfig.exe file. I can't find it. The only file I found qith this name is a notepad document.

Also, another trouble that is not very important but bugging when you paid $70+ for a game, my screenshots appear as blanks, same thing for the saved games "icons".

Did somebody encountered the same problems and how can that be fixed

Fred

EDIT: removed rant.

it's in:

Program Files/Dragon Age/bin_ship

or if you're running 64-bit:

Program Files (x86)/Dragon Age/bin_ship

As Raint pointed out, go to wherever you installed the game and look for a folder called bin_ship. In there you'll find the DAOriginsConfig.exe file.

OK guys, found the bin_ship directory and launched the application, but the right cd key is inscribed in there. What else should I try? Cause their solution was to write in my cd key.Posted Image

Verify that the Content Updater service is running.

Go to the list of services (start menu, run services.msc) and scan for the Dragon Age: Origins Content Updater Service. If it is stopped, try and start it. On my system I verify it is started before I start the game everytime, just to avoid having issues.

If you can't start the Updater service check out the DLC troubleshooting sticky in the PC troubleshooting forum. Particularly section 3.2 which gives tips for running the service as an administrator and how to reinstall it if its screwed up somehow.

I had a similar problem after moving my game from one HDD to a new HDD. Since all the game information about your characters and stuff is in "My Documents" that didn't move. I can't tell you exactly how I fixed it, it took lots of trial and error but here's the basic idea of what I did.

First and most importantly backup your entire dragon age folder out of My Documents. You might make a couple of copies just to be safe. Then I went through and started deleting folders out of the Dragon Age folder within My Documents. You can re-launch game and test to see if it works. Like I said, I'm not sure what folder was exactly causing the problems but I wrestled with this for an hour or so before finally getting my old saves to work.

Also logging in/logging out made no difference at all which seems broken to me. Everything should be based on the login not some file on my PC.

FWIW - Reinstall did not work in my case.  OP's case is a little different so re-install may work for OP.

Verify it isn't the Content Updater service before doing anything more drastic.

I have the exact same behavior, content is unauthorized if I'm logged in, fine if I'm logged out. All I have to do to resolve that problem is to start the service before I run the game.

That's what did it for me. THanks Kepha!

I had a problem with this and here is the whole thing i gone through with support personnel and the answer worked great!

Hi Ari,

Thank you for contacting Electronic Arts.

We are really sorry for the inconvenience caused to you. If you are having unauthorized issue in your account then we would like to suggest you follow the troubleshooting steps below:-

You can find instructions on how to do unauthorized issue at the following link:

http://support.ea.co...?p_faqid=23584]

If this provided linke doesn't solve your problem then we would like to suggest you to delete all the DLC and then re-download the contents again.

This does not impact saved games. This only deletes all DLC from the system so you may re-download the content again.

Shut down Dragon Age: Origins

In Windows, press the 'Start' button and select 'Run'

In the command line type 'net stop DAUpdaterSvc'

Navigate to 'My Documents\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\BioWare\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\Dragon Age\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\Settings' and delete 'Manifest.xml' and 'Offers.xml'and 'addins.xml'

Navigate to 'My Documents\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\bioware\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\Dragon Age' and delete the 'Offers' folder

Navigate to 'C:\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\Documents and Settings\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\All Users\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\Application Data\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\BioWare\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\Dragon Age\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\' and delete the 'DAUpdater' folder

Navigate to 'C:\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\My Documents\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\bioware\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\Dragon Age\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\' and delete the 'AddIns' folder

In the command line type 'net start DAUpdaterSvc'

Restart Dragon Age: origins and log in.

After deleted the DLC if you are not able to see the contents in the game menu the We would like to suggest you to run DAUpdaterSvc manually.

You can find instructions on how to do this at the following link:

http://help.dragonag...p?p_faqid=23666

If the issue persist please reply us back.

i wanted to say that this worked for me as well. the only hiccup was that i could not find: C:\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\Documents and Settings\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\All Users\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\Application

Data\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\BioWare\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\Dragon Age\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\' and delete the 'DAUpdater' folder

this was because windows hides the documents and settings folder. so you may have to go into your c drive, then click the' Organize' button on the top left side of the window, then click 'folder and search' option, then click 'view'. after which, select 'show hidden files and folders' as well as unclick 'hide protected operating files'. you will then be able to navigate the above mentioned path. just make sure that afterwards you go back and click 'hide protected operation files' so they are not accidentally deleted in the future.

after i did all of this i logged into dragon age and had to download all of the previously installed content (including dlc). everything downloaded and installed perfectly. now i can play witch hunt, the golems of amarakk and leliana's song.

i did have to go back and reinstall all mods that i had originally installed with daupdater. but that didn't take long as i was given a list of the missing mods the first time i tried to load a game. i just jotted down the list and reinstalled them using daupdater.

hope this helps. thank you gothlad for posting this. :)
