Just yesterday I had the pleasure of playing with multiple groups of people who kept complaining about my supposed "stealing of kills." It even got to the point where I was getting kicked out of lobbies since I was apparently pissing them off so much. I could have sworn that playing matches and fighting against enemies was a team effort, not a solo job.

Irate Player:* Gets grabbed by a Banshee while trying to Biotic Charge it.*

Me: *Kills Banshee before it executes him*

Irate Player: God dammit! Stop taking my kills!

Me: I'm just trying to help you. That Banshee almost killed you.

Irate Player: Go to the other side of the map. I don't want your help!

Irate Player: * Walks around corner and gets KO'ed by a Brute*

Me: *Kills Brute and revives him*

Me: In case you haven't realized, this is a TEAM GAME! Besides, we all earn the same amount of XP and credits at
the end of the round. All that matters is that we complete the objectives quickly and survive to the end. Your
individual score means very little. So please, just chill out!

Irate Player: Shut the f**k up kid! Do everyone a favor and staple your mouth shut!

Me: If you say so *Ignores to revive him and lets him die for the rest of the game*

Irate Player: ******! Why didn't you help me!

*At the Reward Screen*

Player: Kick this idiot out of here.

Me: *Gets Kicked*

Similar scenarios kept happening all throughout yesterday. Am I mising something here? Have the people played too much Call of Stinky Dooty to understand that not every game is designed for lone wolf operations? Do they feel their masculinity dropping if they don't get the highest scores? Am I wrong for trying to help them? I feel that it is idiotic to complain about kill stealing on a team-oriented game, especially when we all get the same rewards. Why can't people understand that teamwork can actually be a good thing?

And about K-Stealing in a team game..... HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE?!

You are just unlucky. Next time leave them dead and stay at the other side of the map like they ask you too. Its more satisfying that way.

Keep 'stealing' their kills and letting them rot.
Shrink their penises to the point that they ragequit.

I'd call it ungrateful, if someone saves me from a Banshee grasp they are my new best friend.

I try not to kill steal, but it happens. I've never once heard anyone complain in the games I've joined on PC.

My golden rule for kill stealing: Don't shoot the target that the Batarian is about to Falcon Punch. Kind of a treat others as you wish to be treated thing.

My rule regarding KSing is if thats the only thing within sight I shoot it regardless. Otherwise I pick a fresh new target so my Widow X can apply some love to it.

It's not worth it to play with these people.

Let them learn that kills don't really matter at their own pace. :)

You actually saved someone from a banshee grab? I have never done that nor had a player successfully do that. Always happens too quickly, by the time the rocket launcher is out, its over. The banshee still dies but the player is dead :c

Enemies on the other hand....I have been saved many a time from a banshee grab or a phantom coup de grace by enterprising cannibals and assault troopers who just desperately want that kill. Always makes me a happy chap.

I shoot whatever I can. Sometimes that'll be something someone else is about to kill, sometimes someone does that to me. It irks me a bit when it happens to me but I try to ignore that because it's supposed to be about the team and I certainly don't whinge at people about it. I'll try to set off someone else's combos if I'm playing a class with biotics. The only time I regard it as impolite is when I'm about to heavy melee something, and when I play QI it can be a little irritating when "hack" appears to mean "teammates' bullets magnet."

thing is most of them will never learn it but whatever.
i never really gave a **** about stealing someones kills except if a sniper has a nice killzone i generally charge somewhere else because the screenshake is annoying for him, other than that if its the last thing alive in my field of view and charge is ready (every 2 seconds so basically all the time :P) i charge and finish the mob.

Same.

I actually made a point to deliberately skip over blue-glowy enemies, though.

You're not one of the Vanguards I usually seem to end up with who inevitably come charging in at the target a split second before I pull the trigger. I find that annoying but hey, that's the game, it's another enemy down towards finishing the wave. I've probably sniped something he was about to charge at times too.

That's a contradiction. If it's a team-oriented game, how are you counting kills?.

In my opinion, the less enemies, the better.

I have saved a few people from Banshee death grips with a Biotic Explosion... admittedly the Warp was already on it and the Throw was on the way as the Banshee grabbed them, but I DID break them out of the grip and save their smelly hide from the "grip-of'death"

Even if they are about to killed by the enemy? And what benefit do they get if only they kill certain enemies?

Saving someone from the clutches of the Banshee isn't easy but I managed it twice last night. Reave + Cluster Grenades. Saved a Vangaurd both times. Why so many insist on frontal biotic charges is beyond me  .  :?
As for stealling Kills, I 'm betting people that do it consistantly durring a round are saying to themselves "Its a Team Effort". LIke when I put enemies in Statsis - I fully expect to have the team all contribute, whats annoying is when I put an enemy in Statis and end up throwing everything at it only to have someone jump in at the last shot can be really annoying. :pinched:

Even if people do kill the enemy you are about to if you where doing damage to it you get a score based on the amount of damage you done, so technically you can go around cherry tapping people getting all your kills taken from you and still be on top of the score board. (I have done this before)

But I agree that it's a team game and people who don't realise this should go play call of duty or battlefield or somthing instead of a co-op game

And don't shoot the one enemy in the mob of 6 or 7 that is painted blue. I didn't hit it with warp so you can see it better.

And let the (non-Battlemaster) Krogan get his rage kills. It could mean the difference of him getting out of that mob alive.

Don't try to use a rocket to save someone unless you already have it out. Just keep hitting it with powers/gunfire.  Biotic explosions will often stagger it and drop your ally.

I'd rather steal each other's kills then to get overwhelmed in the end.

Yes, if the person cares about his kill count then he should learn to enjoy the "view players screen".
