I have no problem with kill-happy people. What I do have a problem with is some players who will purposefully sit there and wait until you've dwindled a banshee's health away and then take the final kill shot. Doing it on purpose is irritating, but hey, it's a game.

I go for team effort. Besides, ME was originally a single-player experience. You HAD to shoot everything on sight, or else you couldn't progress. I think some MP actions reflect that attitude.

For you meleers, here's the thing from my sniping pov.

In that instant that I see something punching you, I do not go 'oh, well, he's a Batarian with full shields and full health who can easily kick it's ass.'

I think 'I don't know what his health/shields are or what his power recharge status is or if he's trying to reload a shotgun' and I shoot it.

Those same guys who **** about someone killstealing them while they're meleeing will turn around the next minute and **** that you didn't help them out when they were hurting.

I can't see what's on your screen. In that instant that I have that Geth Hunter in my sights, I don't know if you're about to boot stomp his head or if you're stunned and need help. I'd much rather shoot it and move on since we're all in this together.

This, Forever this.   Yes its annoying to have your prey snatched out from under you.. But I can't tell what YOUR health is, where your shields are at, if you're reloading...  All i see, unless you're in batarian falcon punch mode is that you're surrounded by creatures.  I'm dropping the hurt on anything near a team-mate so I don't have to ninja my way through the map to pick your butt up.

I do this on any character, an the times i start letting people alone like this... is when people start dropping repeatedly an chewing ME out for not being a team player.

So which is it, shall I murder everything around you an keep you safe... Or let you have your kills and find my own corner of the map to play sniper/melee gawd?    You can only yell at me for one of these.. You pick.

If it looks like I am in trouble from your perspextive then by all
means shoot away, even if I am iabout to faclon punch as my Batarian.
Better safe than sorry and I can always find another punchin bag. There
are plenty. Who knows my next punchin bag may be headin towards you from
behind. So I see him fly, he dies and the one protecting the rest of
the team is free to keep doing so unless I inform him I need help with
the ones flanking him (provided I am in game chat and not party chat).

Just tonight I was playing gold with 2 friends and a random and my friends were
busy dealing with an atlas and it looked like the random was fine to
them so they left him fighting behind them. From my point of view
(through a wall using my javelin) it looked like he was in trouble so I
shot. When it went down he proved me right because he said " thanks I
ran out of ammo and thermal clips." So I say fire if you feel it's
needed because you just don't know, and alive without your kill is
better than death by your prey. So if you see me in a game please help.
Besides if you mention the scores in game I am known for saying, "Am I
in third or fourth? If so then what's the problem. That's where I
belong." I know I am a bad shot but what matters is I am always helping
wherever and however I can. So if Psycho Pisces or somebody else wants to pick people off and are fine with me revivng people and just trying to do my best to help them out wherever I can then we have half of a great team.  add two more who contribute in the ways they can best and that is ALL that is needed. And if It looks like we have mics and aren't talking, by all means see if I am in party chat and join it or message me asking if I have a mic on because you like talking to those you are playing with and I will send you a party invite personally. My friends and I are fine with that wich is why we never make it private when playing the game.

I got a text message from Xboxer "Shadow StrikeX2" that said, "Stop stealing my kills". I was playing a krogan sentinel that was primarily melee. I'm not sure how I could have stolen any kills.

the vast majority of people who play video games online are **** sucking idiots who don't have much of a clue as to what's really going on, so yup, that kind of thing is going to happen. i just kill with impunity whenever i play, dead is dead, and it's not pvp.

This is a good reason as to why I play only with friends.

But frankly, I don't care, if I'm being grabbed or downed I want to be saved. If a Phantom is getting too close and I can't take her out, please, kill her. I would rather not die and just keep playing. And if that means someone pegs an enemy I'm about to kill, big deal.

Its much more fun to see a Phantom or what-evers head pop at close range because someone with a good aim got her before she could nail you with her melee.

The only time I ever get mad for kill stealing is when I'm a vorcha, and they are literally shooting at it after I reduce the targets health to below 1/3 of its max health.

I've never quite undertood the kill stealing myself. Shouldn't people be greatful (especially this douche you were playing with) for the help.

However, in saying that I try to stay vigilant on whats going on around me, and who is killing what.

I've just finished a silver game with my hubby and I. We left the other 2 slots open to the public in case someone wanted join. As it was just the two of we tried to clean up as much as possible. Did we steal kills from eachother? Yes! lmao! He'd inferno grenade them for a slow death then I'd come along and frag them for a quicker death. Haha, it pisses him off something fierce. But I can do that, he's my hubby afterall. Plus, hearing him yell out..'LET THEM DIE SLOWLY DAMMIT!!' from the other room is hillarious!! LMAO! But the other 2 slots filled out by wave 3 by 2 biotic users, and I knew we'd have to reign it in and let the 'splosions have some fun. If I ever saw an enemy floating, I left it. If I saw an enemy glowing blue, I left it. On to bigger and better things as I knew they'd be in for a 'splosion soon so they were taken care of.

If something like a brute/banshee/prime was on the field and they were fighting with it on the other side of the map; and I'd finished with my little horde and go to them to help, if it was down half their life left, I'd just stand by and watch in case they died or something instead of taking the kill myself.

I for one give biotic users more of a leeway then other characters, only because of the explosions. The others, kill or kill be killed :P Sometimes though, in the middle of the ruckus you can get overly heavy handed and just not realise whats going on.

EDIT:  Oh, and Vorcha.  I don't follow them around if there's one on my team, only because I can't trust myself not to kill their kills when they need them most :P

I try avoid killing BE primers and mostly dead enemies that someone else is shooting at or heavy meeleeing, but besides that, anything else is fair game. Of course, sometimes I come around a corner and open fire before I realize that maybe I shouldn't kill it, but I'd rather kill the enemy than wait and see whether I should or not and end up dying instead.

The only time I get upset about kill stealing is when that sniper kills EVERYTHING that I hit with singularity/lift. Otherwise, by all means, kill that banshee that's 2 feet away from me, or pyro that's burning me! I don't care if I already almost killed it.  I just want it dead.

Silly goose. Stories can be fabricated to make the reading more enjoyable. Sure, I made the player seem more irate than he truly was (partly because I can't remember the exacty wording of what he said and the other reason I stated last sentence), but it still doesn't change the the fact that he was annoyed at me supposedly stealing kills in a coop game.

It's like an advertisement, where product features are exaggertaed to make it seem better than what it truly is, but are not exaggerating to the point of blanant lying.

I never had an issue with kill stealing or noticed it until I started playing a Geth Juggernaut. When I am heavy melee killing something like a phantom, cannibal, or even a husk, I don't need a someone coming into help by sniping or charging it. What would help is my teammates killing everything else that is ganging up on me while I am doing it. Now that would be real teamwork. (I literally have players who have followed me around killing everything I melee. It takes the fun out of playing the juggernaut. They might also get more points if they didn't.) Heavy melee also helps restore my shields if my turret isn't ready to do it because for example, it restored someone elses.

**Geth Juggernauts are great for keeping a banshee busy while teammates are off killing everything else.**

A lot of necros lately.

When I am playing the Jugg, I WANT the team to shoot those... anything and everything around me.  I am the friggin decoy.  The quicker things die the better, and lets be honest here... heavy melee on the Jugg isn't exactly uber powerful -- it just drains life to keep the Jugg alive.  If I have a phantom in my grasp, and the dude w/ the Jav can have an easy headshot pop which in turns allows me to grab another phantom, for an easy headshot... thats two phantoms down in the time it would have taken me to drain JUST her barrier.  Please by all means...

Also in case you didnt realize, as long as the button is held even if that team mate kills your battery you will still continue to drain and for a second or two getting life back from the dead target anyway.

**Geth Juggy is great for keeping the entire spawn budget away from your team while your team "kill steals" with large area attacks to clean up the enemies piling up on him keeping him from being overwhelmed (BE's FE's TB's CE's --- more explosions going off all around the better).**

You are right the Juggy's heavy melee isn't all powerful it just looks like it is and because of that it is fun to use. Usually I just melee and drop and move on but while they are in my grasp it is sometimes satisfying to see a phantom immobolized. I don't think I ever wrote don't kill everything around me. You just don't have to kill what is in my grasp. Kill them after I drop, it seems to stun them a little or when I hit them with the "talk to the hand" melee.

I agree that the Juggy is great for herding the spawn to them.  Everyone can take advantage by killing everything gathering around the Juggy so stick around. Snipe and create explosions to your hearts content. Usually if I play with a Juggy I am trying to kill other stuff around them and let them take their melee kills because I understand the satisfaction of it and respect if they are trying to restore shields.

I never expect to be the highest scoring player with the Juggy because it is so slow (even if I equip adrenaline.) I play for fun and this game is fun and I enjoy the team work aspect of it. If the team is really playing together I have noticed scores are usually closer together.

If I want to kill everything I can play solo. ;)

Geth Juggernaut restores shield with melee, so better not interfere. You don't want to run and revive your party decoy, taking his place for a moment?;)
Other than that, occasional kill stealing is not worth mentioning, just kill faster.
