In my case, I chose Tali for two reasons, one. She had the best writing of all the female characters in the second game (in my opinion). And two, that ****ing accent. It's awesome, nuff said.

Pretty much the same as you that voice alone is enough to make up for not knowing what she looks like till the launching of the Suicide mission in ME2 and the endof the Rannoch missions in ME3.

Plus I felt she should have been developed more in ME and made a LI through all three games.

Wait...those are my reasons for picking Miranda.
I found her the most mature, independent and interesting, and I like a 'challenge'.

Garrus.

Because a straight FemSheps would've gotten ripped off any other way. Between Kaidan/Garrus it was about badasery. Although Thane was on par with Garrus my FemShep had no interest in being someone's stepmom. Not even going to mention the facepalm that is Jacob >_>;

Well... Respectively, Thane is really hot, Garrus is a buddy, Kaidan is silly cute, and Traynor just needed hugs.

I did Garrus and Thane on a fem shep garrus seems really awkward when dealing with Shep where as Thane is beating himself up over falling in love and pursuing that love when he knows in a few months to a year he will die and leave her to morn him

Kaidan in ME1 because he was the only interesting available LI, though Ashley was a great friend. And then Kaidan again in ME3 (in the future, haven't gotten that far yet) just to see how it ends.

Garrus in ME2/3 because he (and Turians in general) is (are) just plain -sexy-. After ME3, he may be my.. second favorite Bioware LI. Alistair takes first.. having finally usurped Carth (who is now third).

Thane in ME2 for one playthrough because a) I wanted to see the romance after having followed the development of ME2 for what seemed like forever and he was a very appealing malien in the trailers (but then I played the game.. I really wish they'd just done away with the flashbacks).

Well, I have a playthough for most L.I.'s for Fem-Shep (minus Kelly, Traynor and Diana) but my favorite romance is Thane's.

At first I was intrigued by his appearance and voice.
And then I came to love his philosophy and personality. Everything just clicked for me tbh.

I've played through with a Garrus romance in ME2 as well and it's very "awwww". I do like that turian! That cute awkwardness was really sweet

I've yet to import my Garrusmancer in ME3 though, after trying to play through ME3 with my Thanemancer and seeing what happened to him, and then seeing those endings I...lost my desire to play ME3

I chose Jacob in another playthrough, and true, at first I did it "for the lulz" but "surprizingly", Jacob actually grew on me as the romance progressed.

I've yet to properly start my playthroughs with my Kaidan/Liara-mancers so my opinion on those are not complete yet so to speak.

Didn't originally like Liara. I just tolerated her. However, I was sick to death of hearing Kaidan bemoan BaAT and Rahna, that I thought, "What the hell? Why not?" and tried Liara. If she didn't work, then I'd move to Garrus.

However, once I actually talked to her, I realized that she isn't that bad. I based my entire opinion of her on her first impression, which isn't all that great. Her nerdiness and lack of social skills are endearing and remind me of myself. After the line she gives about using you for an "in depth study," I was hooked. It was just too damn cute.  The fact that she turns into a total badass and is a great friend just sealed the deal.

One of the things that made me like Tali more  in ME2 was if you take her and Garrus to the Citidel and start walking up the stairs to lvl 28 the banter between her and Garrus is priceless especially the last part.

Garrus: Come on tell us about your immune system
Tali: I have a shotgun
Garrus: Riiiiight we'll talk later

I cracked up the first time I heard this conversation.

Because Thane is sweet, nice, polite, smart, selfless and I liked his side story theme about appreciating life.

I originally didn't like him at all because 1.I thought ew frog man 2. I was expecting him to be all broody and dark and an ****. That commercial very much misrepresented him.

Because I wanted him in ME1 and didn't get him.

Garrus is perfect boyfriend material; charming, loyal, confident but not cocky, intelligent, talented, funny, self-deprecating at times which only makes him more adorable, and as a plus he's a member of the alien race I find the most interesting. And 'best friends to lovers' is an angle I hadn't played yet in a BioWare game. It has more depth than the typical one-game romance, IMO.

Because although my first Femshep was a paragon and ended up getting ninjamanced, the first impression of Kaidan was a) whiny and jesus, get away from the damn beac.....*zap* 14 hours unconscious.

So as soon as the confrontation scene came up, Kaidan was history and Liara would've been my default LI for any playthrough, but she became so much more especially after LotSB.

Because Miranda is hard to get and Shepard loves a challenge! I also romanced Liara because she was so innocent and Shepard just loved to err corrupt her? lol

Smart girls with a sense of humor take precedence - So, Tali is awesome, Liara is great. Miranda is a little too angsty with her "oh, woe is me, I'm genetically perfect..." gig. But has the nicest butt in the entire Mass Effect universe.

Ok, I have to admit that Liara starts out a bit of a stick in the mud - but her reactions are pretty funny in ME1.
