Miranda. She's strong, independent, a great fighter, beautiful, smart, a big tease, her sense of humor cracks me up, she's Shepard's equal and once you get past her awesome icy barriers she's very loving and caring.
PERFECT!
Why'd you hook up with your romance option?

Samara, who at first when she was shown in the reveal trailer I hated her, I did I hated her.
But my reasons why I like her and she's the only LI for my Shep are as fallows, most people often don't notice that there is so much that's hidden beneath her strong Justicar exterior
1.She's strong, independent, and likely able to hold her own better than any other squad mate or LI (however Miranda would be 2nd in these areas IMO), even more than Shepard, Wrex, and anyone, I mean you don't live a long life as Justicar by not being able to get by on your own in any sort of situation
2.She got a bit of a broken person hiding beneath the surface, she bottles everything up and walls herself off, and even pushes people away, there is lots of pain hidden inside her. In ME3 the wear and pressure of doing that cause her to lose it and all.
3.The Code does not forbid Romantic relationships, however Samara is not interested in just sex, It would have to be something more, deeper, meaningful, and permanent
4.Because unlike many of the other ME LI's Shepard would have to be the one doing most of the work, pushing for it, and really have to work for it. Samara walked away once, but Shepard will be damned if she walks away again. Also they totally have feelings for each other strong ones,
5."Your Life Is Mine" her voice so sensual
6.The more I see her the more she looks angelically beautiful
7.Her personality is great too,
AND Yes she does have one it's just one of many things people don't notice, if you really pay attention to her, there is so much that is over looked by many. Great character and it would be the most unique and truly deep and meaningful LI in the whole ME series,

I played ME2 first so
Jacob: Just no..
Thane:His Dying (and its very clear how that will end.)
Garus: As much as I like him..biologically Garus is incompatible.
Used the Genisis comic to try the ME1 LI.
Kaidan at Horizon.........
Liara at Illium was a bit bi***. Then when I investigated further after the quests & listened to every possible dialouge with her, and she made the most sense to pick.
Getting ME1
Tried Kaidan again and he was (A) Boring (
Whiny
Which still left me with Liara.
With Broshep I like all of the options, but Liara comes last on that list.( In the ENG Vers)

JACK, because Shepard is a manly man so manly that other manly men say "wow, that's a manly man." So he needs a woman who can handle his rugged manliness. Enter Jack's crazy ass and you my friend have the greatest power couple in human history. And so they can bang to Buckcherry's Crazy B*tch.
In other words this

Be a real man, choose Jack.
And Bioware, be a man too and put Jack in the game for more than 25 minutes. Seriously, what the F**k.

maleshep - miranda : mature, ice queen, feel like a challenge, cerberus.
femshep - kaidan : judge from all option bioware gave us, he's better than other.
and at least it's the best I can give to femshep.

Jack. Her story touches me and makes me wanna protect her, like a lost, hurt puppy. Also she has gorgeous, soulful eyes. She doesn't take sh*t from anyone, her wit is sharp as a tack, and she swears like a drunken sailor. She's also a bit of a freak. What's not to love?

Funny story. I didn't really have a choice on my first playthrough. ME and ME2 were my first Bioware games and I'm... kinda slow at picking things up. So I got ninjamanced by Kaidan, which was an unpleasant surprise. Then I tried to romance Garrus, but my Shep's dialogue option to start the romance sounded really dumb so I didn't pick it, thinking I'd get to romance him anyway... lo and behold, she was alone before the suicide mission
.
On later playthroughs it's been Garrus who held my Shep's heart, mostly because I'm a sucker for a relationship where they're best friends before they're lovers. Just gives the romance so much more depth imo.

And on another note, I thought the developers said there would be consequences for not staying loyal. I saw none, except my Blue ending was a little lighter in color.

Easy achievement with Kelly. Also, not a lot of talk about her, even though the game counts her as one.

Liara's my cannon romance but I tried Kelly once but couldn't get her into the cabin after the suicide mission. This was in an import where I had romanced no one in ME1. That was a waste of a playthrough. I wish I had tried Tali instead.

Miranda because underneath her no-nonsense exterior is a woman who is fiercely loyal and protective of the people she cares about.
Jack because she isn't impressed with the fact that Shepard is the savior of the galaxy, and she has those big brown eyes.

Kaidan. His romance arc is mature, interesting and realistically handled.
He doesn't need someone to solve his problems or give him purpose. He can do that for himself. He's strong and has a solid sense of self. He embodies passion, integrity, ambition, independence and honesty, and admires those traits in others.
Kaidan would have been perfectly happy/successful in his own right, had Shepard not come along. Shepard enhanced his life . She/he did not define it.
Kaidan gives more than he takes.
Plus, that voice.
Uggh. How embaressing. That was far more fan-girly than I intended. Please disregard.
No, really.
