The Indra was a promotional item for the PC version of Mass Effect 3. I guess Bioware decided that it belonged in the Ultra Rare category because of that. They've done the same with all the other "Collector's Edition" and promotional weapons. I'd have much rather had the Argus than the Indra, but none of us are in charge of those things so... eh.

The difference is that its classed as a sniper rifle so it gains the +40% base damage from the tactical cloak evolution. It's a snipers AR and like all weapons that get thrown in the trash after one use, its probably a lot better than people are thinking.

That's a commendation pack ultra rare, but yes, that one is probably worse. But at least you don't spend hours getting a million credits just to pull...an Eagle!!!??? /ragequit. You can however, pull an Indra. /facepalm

I love the Indra, it's power may be weak but I think you're forgetting that the Indra also has low weight, high ammo capacity, high fire rate, low recoil, fast reload, and high accuracy. Obviously it's not going to have alot of power.
Since it has very low recoil just aim at the head and use an extended barrel. The Indra is perfectly fine given it's other stats.

It's got worse stats than a Raptor. And a Raptor you can get to X really easily.

Also, a Valiant weighs the same, so no. You don't win the argument.

Yeah, the Indra is a Raptor for lazy people, with less damage than a Predator. The best point about it is that it is beautiful; the Valiant model with that colour is nice...

Oh, and for those who compare anything to the Eagle: stop it. The Eagle would do more harm if you could throw it against the enemies. It is not the worst N7 weapon, nor the worst pistol. It is the DAMN FREAKING F**KING GUN IN THE GAME.

 Indra is fine. At 1 it's not too far behind Raptor 10.

indra is an assualt rifle WITH a scope but crusader is a sniper rifle WITHOUT a scope!
useless against shield gating!!

I don't have an Indra nor the Eagle but seeing posts from this thread and others, i guess the people that came up with this 2 weapon is a couple whose working at bioware. the guy made the indra and his wife/gf made the eagle.

so, i tried it on human soldier with adrenalin rush (indra 2 here), i put piercing mod and damage increase, used cryo ammo.... and did not do well (as compared to my usual scores) I guess it might be ok to use it on bronze/silver (silver really pushing it) but i cannot see it as a viable weapon (maybe lvl 10 will be amazing dont know)... oh well

I'll bet the Indra was an experiment of some kind. Someone thought it would be cool to have a fully automatic sniper rifle. But, after the game designers got through "balancing" it the gun became less powerful.

Quite honestly, I don't know what all the fuss is about on the Indra. However, I have some ideas about what really going on here.

1.) People are mad that there is another Ultra Rare weapon they could get instead of the ones they really want (ie. Black Widow, Paladin, etc.). So, now they have to contend with the possibility of getting something they don't want instead of something they really want which is already very hard to get.

2.) People saying they hate the Indra secretly love it and are pretending to hate it so enough people will complain about it and Bioware will make it better.

3.) People complaining about the Indra just don't know how to make it fit into their playing style. Its not really a sniper rifle, its a Designated Marksman Rifle (DMR) just like the Raptor and the Incisor (which it looks surprisingly similar to). Its more for taking out lots of small targets rather than a few big targets. Its not an anti-materiel' rifle like the Widow.

The stats aren't that bad compared to the Raptor or the Incisor. I have one at level 10 and I've used it on my Salarian Infiltrator since level 1. I've had great success with it in both Bronze and Silver games. It really shines with specialized ammo like Disruptor or Incendiary ammo. Just remember to have a high powered pistol or shotgun as your secondary to deal with bigger targets.

You stick a blade on it, run with a Krogan and melee the **** out of everything. Then, when a hard hitting boss shows up, you take cover and snipe that bastard. Its actually pretty fun. Doesn't work on gold, but that's only because Krogan's don't do terribly well on gold compared to other classes.

#1 nails it. If they're going to add an ultra rare to make my odds of getting the ultra rares I actually use go down... at least make it an awesome gun that I'll also want. Now, I just cringe every time I see a black card and hope for no Indra 2.

As for the stats, are you and the other guy stupid or something? The Raptor is a silver weapon. No ultra rare should be out classed by a level 1 silver. Every other UR (possible exception wraith) has a place in the loadout or improves upon the rare-class gun it "upgrades."
