It seems like it would be something we'd already have here. Most sites do.

To Bioware: If you're worried about people uploading pornographic/other types of inappropriate images here, look and learn what other sites, like YouTube, Google, Spore, Imageshack, Wikia, Wikipedia, and others do to combat that. Don't make us have to use tricky hacks or processes and have to buy another game just to upload a personal picture, and don't turn avatars into a commodity to trade, making us buy collector's editions of games to get a picture of a different squadmate or enemy. It's not that hard to integrate, especially into a forums site.

To everyone else: Show your support by posting here! Post what avatars you'd use as well.

<-- You mean like this?

But I see your point kinda, the option to not have to use the dragonage character creator would be nice.

We shouldn't have to do that.

We shouldn't have to do that.

Totally worth it, though. At least for a custom avatar like mine.

You don't have to a) buy any games or B) use "tricky" hacks, it's really very very simple.

Simpler still to just click "Upload an Image", pick an image, and hit "Okay".

It's not that hard.

1. Make a picture (crop, resize, etc.)
2. Save into Documents > Bioware > Dragon Age > Pre-release characters (Put as Read-Only)
3. Install DA character creator.
4. Make character for picture.
5. Wait.
6. ????
7. Artistic Integrity.

OP has a very good point IMO, there's really no sensible reason why this exploit is even necessary.

I agree. I want to be able to use something other than Bioware's stock avatars.

True, if people are already exploiting the avatar system, and Bioware really doesn't care, why haven't been able to upload our own avatars?

I have tried for years to do that... using that same blog or using this one ....

But ... still never shows up for me to use... just an empty shell.

It's not hard to upload a custom avatar. But I agree that BioWare should just allow use to upload them.

I just expressed deep envy for your avatar in another thread.

I might actually give up my crusade for an ME3 rewrite if I were allowed to have my own fresh little portrait *shyly digging toe into ground*

Not a bad idea, OP.

I've been wondering about those cool Geth Prime avatars I've been seeing around. And how the hell the War Asset avatar thing works, since my box is empty.
