Launch DA: O Character Creator, Log in, New character, use the name you typed before "_portrait.png" then Upload. 

You're done, all you have to do is wait. It can take up to several hours depending on the time of the day.

<--- Although, I have my own custom avatar, I agree with OP. I'm tired of seeing the same avatars with different users throughout the forum. It's getting confusing.

Since custom avatars can be uploaded and bioware clearly knows this then they really should allow everyone to do it.

That'd be a neat idea, import avatars from consoles to BSN. (Xbox 360 site already does that, so it isn't impossible)

Same. While the uploading/creating of an avvy is not hard to do really they should still allow custom avatar uploads. Just to shut people up at least. Hell you can find the character creator by hitting Games at the top of the page, DA:O>Character Creator.

Also this has very little to do with ME3. I must have said this 10 times now but I get the feeling a lot of BSN'ers think there is nothing beyond the ME & DA boards. Three Words: Off Topic board.

Shut people up? This is the only forums site I've ever been to that doesn't allow this. Have fun wasting computer space and time with the Character Creator "trick". Stop sounding so elitist, more people talk on ME and DA forums. Sorry not everyone plays every game there's a forum for on BSN.

I don't know... there are some advantages to having to go through a few extra hoops to customize your avatar... it separates the boys from the even younger boys...

I thank you for agreeing with me, but you seemed... I dunno, a bit snobbish TBH when you said this was the wrong forum. Maybe I was a bit quick to retaliate for something that wasn't that big of a deal, I apologize.

There is indeed an Off-Topic forum.  There is also a forum for help/questions about the social network.  Click the forum button at the top of the site, and scroll down.
