After the romance scene, Shepard is kind and expressive with Liara and Ashley. With Tali, he just says "Thanks" to her expressions and walks away. Definitely not romantic cliche, so good thing you like that. When you get a girl/boyfriend of your own, try that out.

Once again, people comparing apples to oranges. It's in an "alternate universe", so who cares. Ashley and Liara's romances have their own themes to make them unique, as does Tali's. Something I previously mentioned.

Also, if you had read into one of my previous posts, I have "tried that out". I've been with my current fiancee for 5 years, and when I came back from the war she understood when I was going through my rough patches, as she still does when I have my own occasional nightmares. Genuine people are like that, they understand that you're not acting temporarily distant just for the sake of it.

Thumbs up for baseless assumptions, though. You're on your way to becoming a true internet forumite.

Shepard's reaction with his romance with Tali is one of the things that makes Shepard seem out of place. He really seems another person, his personality changes a lot from ME1&ME2 to ME3. Unlike the other 2 games, I wasn't confortable with most of Shepard's dialogue.

Hey! Auto Shep is one badass son of a ****. He doesn't say corny **** to his woman. He's like Hans Solo. Yeah.

It's pretty obvious that the Liara romance arc had the most attention. I guess the rest all suffered in quality.

Less a guess, more a cold, hard reality.

But even it had issues, like Liara calling Shepard friend through most of the game regardless of choices in previous games.

^This, Liara had the same problems as you describe here. Although I agree it probably had the most attention it still has problems of it's own.

In all fairness when She tells him she loves him right before fighting the reaper destroyer in Rannoch His Keelah Se'lai was in a way a replay to her saying she loved him he was fighting to give her back her homeworld.

How many boyfriends could give you an entire world?

The thing that pissed me off with a save file that I had Tali as an LI was the fact that it was so touching in ME2. But in ME3, she's the one that was really written differently. She was somewhat ashamed of being with a human. The end of her loyalty mission she tells you she got better, she got you. In ME3, she doesn't want her people to know that she's with you in the slightest. It wasn't very adult writing. It was more like children in middle school liking each other when they're alone but disregarding each other around other people. Very childishly done. When she removed her mask on Rannoch, the sun in front of them, It would have been powerful if she would have embraced and kissed Shep while Raan and the Geth were there. That impact alone would have had more power than BW realized.

I think Tali's romance arc is beautiful.

We don't get the "meat", but does it really need it? They fade to black more than once during ME3, and Tali tells Shepard that her body has adapted to being in contact with him and she doesn't get sick because of it anymore. Is there anything more beautiful than that? It also means they're keeping their bodies in contact a lot.

The last scene where she says almost crying "I want more time" and Shepard can just sigh and hold her close "Tali, whatever happens-" Tali interrupts him "I know". They don't need words to explain. The level of complicity and understanding they have for each other right there is heartfelt and touching.

A LI-only scene where Tali shows her face or seeing Tali at the end cutscenes after the Crucible instead of Joker or Liara would be nice, I guess, but I'm happy with how the Tali romance arc turned out to be. Neither Tali or Shepard are teenagers, and they do not have to act like teenagers around love.

The OP was refering to shep specifically and his interactions with Tali. Felt he was fairly indifferent towards Tali when compared with Liara.

That would almost rectify the goddamned ending.

Some of it was military decorum she is an Admiral and has to act as an Admiral should in public in ME2 she was just another Quarian all be it an Admiral's Daughter.

That is a fair point, they might have just been trying to say that Shep n Tali are an item now so don't need to say I love you constantly.

And yet Tali *does* say it, more than once. My point was that *she* says it multiple times, but Shep avoids it. It's not the case that "they" don't need to say it, because Tali does say it more than once. Contrast that with how Shep says it to the other LIs. That was all I was trying to point out.

I just think that Weekes tried to give a unique twist to their romance dynamic to make it different, and some people are angry that it isn't  cookie-cutter. I find that sad. Sure, not everything was perfect, but for me at least that made things more interesting and believable.

Maybe with Quarians, interspecies relationships are taboo. I'd think of comparing it to the stigma interracial couples faced in the past, rather than "childish" or "middleschool". also, as someone said before, it was also about maintaining a level of professionalism in front of the rest of the Admiralty. That last part about Rannoch though, I can agree with that. That would have been nice.
:)

If you think I wrote this because it wasn't "cookie cutter", you're just willfully not understanding/trolling.
Also, not angry, just making an observation that in comparison with similar situations with other LIs, Shepard can sometimes come across as cold with Tali. Just that. My opinion, my observation from my perspective.

If you read my first post much earlier in the thread, you'd have seen that I agreed with several of your original points. The only reason you're replying to me right now is because I made a rebuttal to an attack you made earlier, where you made a disingenuous assumption about my personal character.
