I think saying Keelah se'lai is much better and means a lot for Tali. Tali knows Shep loves her so its enough.
I like this romance very much, did once Ashley and that was not deep love at all i think

Only problem was that sex scene, 7 seconds and black screen? Really? But thats BW fault, not Tali's

Yep you get to see Liara and Ashley practcally full body in their scenes in ME and such but tali got screwed and not in the good way :innocent:

Yeah, to a degree I agree being multiracial myself. But this far in the future those stigmas are still relevant? And maintaining professionalsm would have been thrown out the door. After centuries in space, Shep has done something that their entire fleet couldn't do. I think that alone would have warranted deeper public affection and understanding from all who witnessed it. It would have been sweeter if Raan herself would have said, "Go kiss your man Tali. it's alright." Keelah Se' Lai!

I would have liked to have seen Raan comment about it at some time. Would have been a nice touch, especially if she would have been accepting of it.

Given her relationship with Tali and her family plus how far shep went for Tali in ME2 assuming you got her out of being exiled she probably would support it.

That scene was alomost exactly the same as the one with Cortez.

I’m glad this thread didn’t devolve entirely into a competition who had it worst.

I can see both sides with the Tali romance…but it would have been easy enough to just give the player the choice to say either “I love you” or “keelah se'lai” (and so on for the various cases). I will add this to my LI improvements suggestions (please take a look, it’s in my signature).

It’s yet another “screw you, it’s not your Shepard anymore” moment. This isn’t a  book, or a movie, it’s a game. You can’t treat them the same.

All romances were poorly developed. Some were not developed at all, really, so I’d primarily like to see those fixed along with my small LI improvements, and then they could gradually improve the romances that were the least bad.

Yes! This was my problem with Tali's romance all along. It isn't bad it's just out of character and there's no choice, no role-playing involved.

But Tali's romance is very fulfilling and still totally worth it.:)

I thought the Tali romance was fine. Being a bit of a dick fit my Shepard perfectly. I was glad he didn't get all soft

It's pretty obvious that the Liara romance arc had the most attention. I guess the rest all suffered in quality.

Agreed with this, I was completely tired of the Liara favoritism in ME3. In ME2 it really wasn't clear because she had a mission and some minor roles on Illium, that is it. I wish they had put an equal amount of effort into all the romance options.

Glad I'm not the only one who felt this way. Tali was my favorite LI by far, but her ME3 romance was so half-baked. After her final romance seen I was like "that's it??" Shepard pretty much came across as being a distant, emo dick.

The relationship and dialogue with Tali in ME2 was really well done and enjoyable. In ME3, it's weak. It's already been posted that most of the relationships and romances are weakly done, at least in contrast to Liara and Ashley. But Shepard's interaction with Tali just seems especially cold to me.

If romancing Tali:
1. Shepard never says he loves her. She says it multiple times to him, but Shepard never does. In other romances, Shepard says it to the LI, but with Tali it's like he's uncomfortably avoiding it.
2. In the Geth ship, Tali pulls him up from the falling elevator and he just says "I'm alright". Not even a "thanks"? I'm sure this is the same for any other character, but it was just wierd.
3. On Rannoch, she's talking about how great it's going to be to have a home, and when Shepard asks if the quarians will get used to living in one place and Tali responds about how they've been used to carrying their homes around with them, Shepard silently hands her a rock. Good job, Shep. Smooth. (Edit: I agree this one is on the edge, the sentiment behind it is certainly nice. It just seemed to fit the pattern)
2. Post-Rannoch, Shepard can't even bring himself to ask her to stay on the Normandy. "Because I respect you, dammit" is a horrible line, IMO. That's what people say when they just "want to be friends".
3. The romance scene is basically just a lazy fade-to-black. There's nothing there at all. This is not specific to Tali, though. However,
4. The post-romance pep-chat is really cold. In other romance scenes, Shepard tells the LI that the LI being there means everything, or that he'd not want to be anywhere else or something similarly touching. Shepard will say he loves the LI and kiss. But with Tali, he says he's not sure if there will be anything left, and when she says she reaches for him in times of trouble, he just says "Thanks" and walks away. WTH? Who is this guy?
5. In the final good-bye, the only redeeming part is Tali woefully saying she wants more time. But Shepard can't say anything of any value or sentiment even at this point. Just "I know". Seriously? What a cold ass.

Tali: I love you!
Shepard: Thanks, I'm alright.

Edit: To be clear, #s 4, and 5 are the ones I dislike the most. And of course, there are others that are incomparably underdeveloped. I'm in no way meaning to diminish any complaint about any other relationship with my observations.

Did Han Solo say "I love you too" back to Leia in Star Wars Episode 5 before he was carbon frozen? No, so why should Shepard? Just because he doesn't outright say it doesn't mean he is givign her the cold shoulder. God, you're so short-sighted.

The reason why Shepard acts so distant after sleeping with her is because he's tormented by his doubts and fears about whether victory over the Reapers might not really be a victory with so many friends and allies dead. You obviously haven't been watching how mentally and physically stressed out Shepard is. you may not have noticed it, but Tali has, and she is doing everything she can to keep him sane and confident. If that isn't true love there, I don't know what is.

Shepard: "We've lost so much already... Sometimes, I..."
Tali: "You don't know if it was worth the fight? When I feel that way, I reach for you."
Shepard: "Thanks."

At least he had the decency to thank his girlfriend no matter how depressed he was.

What I want to know is why shep shows nearly no emotion to any of his friends dying but if Cortez dies it suddenly

"Steeeeeevvvveeeee"

WTF was basically my reaction to that moment considering I barely said two words to the guy during my whole first play.

Because the other squadmates died trying to make a difference in the war, or because you screwed them over in favor for someone else

But i never spoke to the guy and I'm all of a sudden treating this guy like I have known him for the entirety of the trilogy. That doesn't make sense.

No, I got that.  My question is, why is it different for Tali?  Why are the scenes for Ashley and Liara so much different?

Prepare to be disappointed. Regardless of what Tali fans want, BioWare wanted to keep her face and body mysterious, which is why the intimacy scene between her and Shepard is so short. BioWare didn't care too much about making the Tali fans happy.

I really don’t understand the mentality of arguing that a RPG should have one single right way for all characters :)

You can justify all you want how Shepard would feel a certain way, but the problem is that it’s not a single Shepard. It’s a countless number, and not all of them would behave the same.

THe stone thing happens even if you DGASAH. Also she is a very barren and unnatural LI, so their is nothing canonically redeeming enough to allow her to continue her charade as a decent LI.

It has nothing to do with seeing her face.  In fact, I think Shep/Tali is one of the most intimate romances in the game, due to the trust required for Tali to actually take off her mask in the first place.

Even if there was no "sex scene", we still could have gotten much better dialogue than we did.  You can call it what you like, I call it the devs just being lazy and focusing too much on Liara "plot armor" T'soni.

I think it's a gay relationship glitch and I don't mean that as a joke. Kind of like when you're on the Geth dreadnought and it doesn't matter if you romanced Tali are not, the male squadmates never reach to help you when the platform falls, it's always Tali.

Grunt was my bro in ME2 so when I see him stagger after that Rachni fight, I just say Grunt and go grab him. He was a friend. One, I would never have left him to fight on his own. 2, if I had seen him staggering, I would've yelled Gruuuuunnt! Cortez hold the damn shuttle, my friend is coming!

When Steve went down, I just said damn. I didn't feel that forceful generic scene not one bit.

The dig at the end wasn't necessary you know. Yes, I get the Han comparison, I'd be cool with it if Shepard wasn't being expressive with Ashley and Liara in the same situations. And you did see that I had more than that one point, right? If I had stopped at #1, then sure, short-sighted...but I didn't. The rest were there because they seemed to fit the pattern to me. Poor Tali expresses herself a lot and Shep says "Thanks" and "I know" as responses, or nothing, whereas he's quite expressive with others.

All in my personal short-sighted observational opinion, of course.
