True, I've yet to see any drama-lama considering us Javik fans...
Which is pretty ironic, considering Javik's mad trolling skillz ಠಠ_ಠಠ

I know most Liaramancers aren't like this. Hell i've even seen a lot of them agree that Bioware's biased attitude towards Liara was unfair to other romancers. But like every fanbase, Liara's has some bad apples.

Which LI has the most aggressive defenders
The thought came to me when I read the Urban dictionary number 2 definition of Talimancer. I found it funny even though I like Tali too.

I honestly think Ashleymancers are more aggressive then Talimancers
Lol. i like Tali the most and in found this hysterical.

Not sure about aggressive but when it comes to spreading negativity, the Tali and Liara fanbase come to mind. Ever since ME3 came out, Bioware made it very clear who the canon LI is, without actually saying it. In turn, some of the Liaramancers took this opportunity to be nasty to others, and try to rub it in people's faces that they made the "right" choice and that non-Liaramancers are playing the game wrong.

Garrus has a scene with a damn DIPSMOOCH. Nothing Liara has even comes close. Garrus wins, canon LI. Anyone not romancing Garrus is DOING IT WRONG.

I can understand why some may not like certain characters but if they back their arguments well and not going all "ohmigosh I hate this character, they sucks and they are boring and poorly written", the respective attacked character's fanbase will probably not attack back with "HOW DAREZ YOU ATTACK *insert character here*, YOUZ SHALL DIE!!!"

So true, Talimancers are awful. But Kaidan lovers aren't that far behind, they probably have spies in every LI topic just waiting for someone to call Kaidan annoying so they can attack us.
Kaidan fans attacking me in 5, 4...
oh my god that is perfect

Well I blame BioWare for all of this, the magnitude of hate on these forums is unbelievable.
How can you hate fictional characters? Doesn't make sense.

Why you cant hate?
They can annoy you like real life person.
Traynor as an example
That accent
That attitude
That unrealistic knowledge
Airlock that way --->

As the quote below you should have made clear, there's a lot of simmering psychosis among the fanbase.

Oh, and to whomever said it. Liara was evidently always canon LI since ME1. Damsel in distress and all that.

Thane and Miranda for active support.
Liara for defenders. Too many Liara-mancers see every critic against her as an insult.
They've been like that since ME2 unfortunately.

I find that this topic will not have much discussion if there aren't HATERS around to begin with... What causes fanbase to be aggressive in the first place...? Yeah haters starting a hate thread/post about their favorite characters... So I agree with biotic_wind.

Frankly this is just not correct at all. I've gone into several different threads since joining the forum several years ago just trying to have an active discussion with people. Let's be perfectly honest here; character threads aren't discussion threads, they're SUPPORT threads. If you don't support the character, you're not welcome.
End of story.
And that's a problem. If you can't discuss a character's flaws and strengths honestly and completely in said character's thread, your only recourse is to start your own.
Then you're branded a hater because your perception of the character differs from the collective.

I dont know, for me romancing Garrus felt wrong. I did it of course, but whole romance starter was rather too off and ´on the note´ for me. And I love the guy, But he stays as my best friend.
(And somethimes when I mention this Garrus girls attack me
But its Shepard, there is no universal cannon LI. Only your canon LI.
For me, Talimancers.
I was actually really suprosed by her popularity after playing ME. I couldnt understand why she was so popular. I did talked to her, but somehow forgot she was on the ship and didnt really use her as a squadmate. I mean all she did was act as a quarian wiki, all she cares about are quarians. She didnt even got me as an interesting character, so when I found about about her popularity (and the dept of her popularity ad all those fanboys) I was quite shocked.
I can understand Liara popularity as she is perfect example of a fanservice, but Tali. Well got to know that guys actually likes geek girls.
At least Tali finally got a real personality in ME2, so I accepted her and she became my cute little sister. And thats kind of all.

I understand that tbh. I love his romance but I hated the way it started, I actually had to headcanon Shep getting drunk to proposition him. Otherwise it feels... off, to me. Personally I love him both as a LI and a best buddy. Hell, he's my favorite character but I managed to kill him off in one of my playthroughs. To each their own. And we have options, we should rejoice instead of attacking each other as to who's the best.Reikilea wrote...

(And somethimes when I mention this Garrus girls attack me. So what if like him more as my best buddy. And somethimes Garrus fans even make me dislike Garrus for a moment with all that VS bashing. And that is something considering he is practically one of my top guys and I rarely leave ship without him.)
But its Shepard, there is no universal cannon LI. Only your canon LI.
And I agree about Tali. She's one of my favourites but I was really surprised by the popularity she had back in ME1.
As for who's the most agressive fanbase... I honestly don't know, I've seen bad apples in all of them.

Yeah you are right. Every fanbase has some bad apples. Guess we are like to be protective around our LI. I do somethimes get overprotective over Kaidan too.

I think your sig says it's best:
"Behind every insult is an an Opinion. Behind every opinion is a Reason. Only the Reason can validate or invalidate the Opinion."
The way I see it, fights are usually started when people just open a hate thread and not back up their arguments/reasons for the hate properly... Because an insult is an opinion but an opinion without proper reasons are just... well... you get what I mean.
I mean I just don't really understand when people start a thread to say things like "I hate Jacob because he's boring" or "I hate Tali because she's annoying" or "I hate Kaidan because he's whiny" or "I hate Liara because she rapes your mind"
Umm yeah that's an invitation for the respective character's fanbase to "attack" imo... and for good reasons.
I personally like DA2 Anders but I can understand and accept all the rational criticism against him... which is why a good discussion about the characters generally occur in a "general" thread not the said character's thread... Since it's also a fact that people who visit the said character's threads are *big* fans of the said character, that's where they gather in unison to show appreciation for the character they like... and obviously if one person went inside that character thread and started rambling about their dislike against that character, they're obviously not gonna be getting cakes and cookies from that thread.
Just my opinion...

Same here I thought Tali was too sheltered, inexperienced about the ways of the galaxy..I didn't bother romancing anyone in ME1, I went for Jack in ME2 because she is a really colourful character, she had been places..done things, and had the scars and tattoos to prove it....and it was up to Shepard to get her to finally open up to the possiblity of a relationship, I like a challenge. But sadly she died at the end of ME2 "I knew I'd get hit on this job. I was too happy... too happy with you"

And that last part right there is why certain people hate certain fanbases. I've never said that my LI is the canon LI, I've said that she's MY canon LI. When you start claiming that your canon LI is everyone elses canon LI, you're going to ****** them off, and rightfully so. No one has the right to claim a canon interpretation of the game over anyone else.
There is NO canon LI. Not Ash, not Tali, definitely NOT Liara. Stop trying to insist that there is and we'll all get on a lot better.

YOU GO BACK AND REPLAY AND SAVE HER RIGHT NOW!
I don't care if her romance is crap in ME3, that is a good line that makes me want to cry AND SHOULD BE RECTIFIED TO NOT EXIST IN YOUR SHEPARD'S GALAXY.
