Mass Effect is EA's shifty-looking cash cow. The execs don't want anyone saying anything negative to kill off sales. If one of the team did come out and say that "Yea, we screwed up," they would most likely lose their job and/or face litigation.

I disagree vehemently. The majority of fans have laid out their greivances and would appreciate being talked to, on the level.

Fringe elements and crackpots will always exist, but it's not helping them at all  to lump us all in with them.

It would hurt more so than the negative reaction they're getting by not saying anything? If I was an investor I'd be far more scared of investing with a company that refuses to admit its mistakes because that means that they've not learned from them. It only works when they can convince enough people that there hasn't really been a mistake.

And it's not that hard on the investor side.....initial sales are good and they are mostly oblivious to the Mass Effect story and ending....even if they saw the videos pointing out flaws like the IT videos or something they still wouldn't know what the hell is happening in the game. These people only talk cash.

Until the extended cut hits, I wouldn't either.  If there were still questions lingering after, then I'd step up.

Right now, though, anything and everything they'd let slip from their mouths would be over-scrutinized and ridiculed up until its release, no matter what they say, and there are clearly some unfaltering cynics out there right now who feel nothing they'll say or do will be right---outside of releasing a completely different game, or committing professional seppuku.

I also gave him advice on what to film his wedding with.

I'm very excited for this. I finally broke down today and started my second play through. The sheer quality, polish, and detail really struck me. It's just amazing.

I hope beyond hope that they make an ending worthy of this wonderful series.

That's always the case with anything. They give anything to have ME2 level controversy at this time. This was avoidable, and can still be reduced greatly.

Talked to him too over twitter yesterday....left a good impression on me to be honest. I didn't keep track of time but he did reply to me close to a dozen times or so. Discussed the endings and fan reactions and such. He didn't avoid hard topics and even though he couldn't provide answers he was as honest as he could I thought.

Unfortunately their efforts up to now seemed to be directed into adamant defence of own viewpoint and lengthy measures to avoid admitting that they were wrong.

IMO, IT theory is only any good if BW runs with it and fully implements it (which is possible but I doubt it). For IT theory to work you NEED to wake up and finish the battle. The worst thing they could do with the EC, IMO, is make it vague for the sake of 'speculation'. They need to decide if it's IT or not (which I'm sure they have) and commit to whichever.

I'd rather the current ending clarified (as best it can) with satisfying closure, then it left open to 'speculation' for the sake of IT, making it vague with no closure.

That being said, I might prefer BW to clarify with IT and add closure. But if they don't, I don't want pandering to the IT  crowd to interfere with satisfying 'clarificaiton' and 'closure'.

I'm not saying it's gonna be bad, and I'm not saying it's gonna be good. All I can say is that, personally, they have abused my trust in them, and I am skeptical to say the least.

Fool me once, shame on me, try it again and see what happens. (I think I like the saying that way better)

I'll be a little cynic here and say that if they do voice overs it could amount to the teeny amount done for the other DLC's where basically it was shepard talking and none of the squadmates do any talking ever.

Sorry but that sounds like the people who slag off movies like amazing spiderman and ark knight rises and they haven't even seen them yet.  No one has the right ro do that when they have not seen them.

I have hopes for the EC, but I think they're well grounded and I've posed them before.   But feel free to assume anything you want about me.

Nolan locked himself in the editing room and didn't let executives see what he was doing......

He presented his final cut a few weeks ago.....

But Nolan has that privelage.........
