Despite the fact that the name explains what it is, how does anyone not know what a drilldo is? Do people live under rocks?

Well, I'm 28 and I don't know what a drilldo is. Time to Google.

Well, aren't you sweet and innocent.

I think a drilldo drills. It doesn't poke. :wizard:

A drilldo does indeed drill. A f**ksaw strokes, since it's essentially a saw.

Oddly enough, I had the same face. However, I think it was for a different reason.

He has. If I remember correctly, one with female strippers and another with drag queens.

Man, just how far is this guy willing to go to teach his class about human sexuality? Will he hire escorts for his students next? Or perhaps have them film pornos for one of their assignments?

Gay gene? You do know that's just a theory right?

http://news.bbc.co.u...tech/325979.stm

Maybe Dr. Bailey had a breakdown.

Wasn't his book also criticized by countless scientists and even by biologists?

http://en.wikipedia...._Would_Be_Queen

You do know that scientific theories aren't just guesses, right?

You do know that he's considered an expect in psychology and human sexuality, right?

You do know that just about every researcher and scientist has people who try to refute their work for the sake of keeping dialogue open about all claims in order to verify evidence, right?

I know what a scientific theory is but I'm guessing you also don't know what an ordinary theory is right? As the article I linked you to proved, scientists doubt Dr. Bailey's claims. I can say that there's a gene for "evil" but that's just a theory because it hasn't been discovered as you claimed for the "gay" gene. You have yet to answer why seeing a woman getting banged in front of you by a tool is educational in anyway.

You humans want to progress? Learn to control your senseless emotions, desires and carnal temperaments rather than justifying public sex and fetishes with the "we are animal arguments" which is used to justify all types of unreasonable behavior.

Did the good Dr want to teach how someone orgasms? Then he should have showed them the inside of a vagina and what causes orgasm. I mean what could his teaching method have been while she was getting banged in front of everyone?

Dr. Bailey: "Listen to the moans of agony she makes."

Dr. Bailey: "Look at how she smiles."

Dr. Bailey: "Look at how she's now playing with herself..."

*At the end of the lesson*

Dr. Bailey: "My disciples. What did you learn today?"

Disciples: "Sorry? Did you say something?"

I believe in the beauty of the female body. I've got nothing against nudity but there's a difference between nudity and hardcore live porn which seems like a poor teaching method at best. Seeing a sexual act performed in front of them is bound to change the thinking of many of those adolescents who have their hormones running wild. If Dr. Bailey thinks it's a good idea then good on him but it doesn't make him right which is why the university has launched an investigation.

What's next? Orgies? Anal gaping? Scat action?

Dr. Bailey: "All for science  ;-)"

An interesting video about this:

I'm neutral. Not very confortable of this happening in a class of uni, but at the same, it's no big deal. And if religious people belive this is evil or something, then should a good person not come in contact with such "evil" still? Didn't Jesus Christ have some quote about that?

(otherwise I do understand some restrictions based on christian ethics)

Well the course was intended to address the psychological portions of sex. This means studying the new avenues sex takes as we as a society evolve. Psychologists and psychiastrists have to study these things in order to treat patients.

Interesting. I noticed part of the article says his class did some kind of Q&A with various peope from swingers to sex offenders. I wish my sociology course had been a bit more like that, I would have been interesting if we'd been able to hear from the kinds of people we're studying about, rather than just listening to a series of lectures. Develop more of our own opinions and theories rather than reading/listening to other people's.

If this course encourages people to be more open-minded then it's for the best, as far as I see it.

Unless a school is explicitly religious, I think it's a horrible way to direct a course intended for medical and pre-med students, which this one was. Students were notified of the content of the lecture and had to sign a waiver in order to see the demonstration, so no one was caught off gaurd by the content.

There's self pleasure, and then there's a ****saw. I just do not understand what possible purpose that type of sex toy could serve. I just can't comprehend why this particular toy was chosen.

It's so ridiculous that I think it's borderline comical.

Ah, the state of education in the western world...

Seriously, learn engineering, learn math, learn important history. This... whatever you want to call it contributes nothing. That's not psychology, it's just sick.

Substitute anthropology with sociology and you get the picture.

Being an engineering student is the best decision I've ever made. Dropping five figures a year for something so low in educational value and in taste is...well, pathetic. I understand it was an optional thing that falls completely within university rules, so I'm not exactly clamoring for the "guilty" to be "punished" here (and let's be honest, he'd probably enjoy being "punished" hey-ooo!); instead, I would merely ask everyone in that class to ask themselves, "what did I actually learn today?"

This isn't really what the spirit of an optional lecture should be. It's a base and pathetic dispay devoid of academic merit. In other fields, such optional lectures would be visiting professors and research demonstrations that help to improve the student's depth of knowledge in the field the class is visiting.

This really doesn't have any probative value as a demonstration unless you're messed up in the head.

Whatever your ignorant opinions may be, the study of this helps psychologists help their patients. It also helps our understnading of the human mind which is one of the most important things we can do as a society. Just because your sexual experiences may be vanilla, it may not be true for others, and they could be tied to a host of other psychological components. It's vital for health professionals to understand as much as they can in their respective fields, otherwise they're no good to their patients.

That's just bizzare. I know schools fund some useless things, but this is taking it to a whole new level. At least those other programs try to teach some type (however trivial) of practical or analytical skills. I see nothing that you can take away from this event other than the fact that some people will come up with increasingly... "creative" ways to reach sexual gratification and all the professor needed to do was tell his students to type in a few keywords into a search engine to have them find that out.

I respect the sexual studies of psychology and sociology as those things are indeed aspects of the human mind, interaction, and civilization that are worth understanding, but when you get into stuff like "drilldos" and "****saws" in this kind of crudely excessive detail you're definitely losing track of what's worthwhile in the field. I'd probably also feel the need to question what exactly you're in it for.
