Get the feeling this is gonna be waaaaaay one sided. But what did people think wus a better game finale mission?

Like myself, I reckon most people are gonna say the suicide missions, so if you think that, what was Priority: Earth missing that the Suicide Mission did so well? Where did Priority Earth fall short?

I personaly way prefer the suicide mission, felt like everything you'd done the whole of ME2 was building and amounting to something, which is more that I can say for the war assets in ME3 which we didn't even see.

What ya'll reckon?

Suicide mission, with the most important reason being, that I felt like I had saved the galaxy. Well for the moment of course, but it felt like I succeeded in something. Also al the choices we could make in the SM where a nice touch.

Priority: Earth had those final conversations with your squadmates, which were really done well across the board, and something I really would have liked to see in the earlier games. So it beats the SM in that.

Everything other aspect, though? Doesn't even come close to the SM.

Personally I preferred the Suicide mission in ME2 over the Priority Earth mission in ME3, Doing the suicide mission they made sure to give you ways to save your teammates and yourself if you completed certain requirements in Priority Earth nothing you did mattered the outcome was linear you were going to die no and, ifs, of buts about it.

Suicide Mission
Pros: Epic finale, your choices matter, squadmates have roles, feeling of accomplishment.
Cons: Baby Arnold, some choices feel arbitrary.

Priority Earth
Pros: Erm...
Cons: Dull and boring, nothing you have done matters or changes things, characters behave like idiots, the driving premise is idiotic, the most memorable moments are unintentionally comedic ("STEEVE!!" "Auuuurreegghhhh!!!"), you feel like you've done nothing of value.

Priority Earth didn't have much excitement or a feeling of risk or urgency to it. I know the Suicide Mission re-used a lot of the Collector assets, but for Priority Earth supposedly being the epic final battle it was visually very dull. It didn't look or feel like Mass Effect 3. It was like stepping into an FPS made 5 years ago.

The only good part about Priority Earth is the final talks with your crew. "Go out there, give them hell. You were born to do this!"

The Suicide Mission is a lot better in almost every other way. I was more pumped and exciting going into the Collector Base to save my entire crew from those bastards then I was about saving Earth. Earth meant nothing to me other then "OMG I'M FROM EARTH!". I had a lot of reasons for saving Kelly Chambers, the engineers, Dr Chakwas and the rest.

You can't compare Priority: Earth with Suicide Mission.

It's just that dull and boring while being a huge let down since our assets don't exist in it and then the ending.

Suicide mission. Good introductions where everything you did before was meaning something, not just numbers in a statistic (didn't get that armor? > another fried crewmember).

Then you had to plan something, sudden twists (Reapers are made out of people), you see the consequences of your actions (more or less people die) - well done. At the end you felt satisfied because what you did mattered.

In Priority: Earth the action is quite out of place, besides the final run. What you did before doesn't matter at all. And the conversation with the other characters - happens in a seperate "nothing happens" area, without any connection to the gameplay. Why did they include this turret scene?
And then we have the elevator to the Citadel...I don't have to talk about this. But the ending of Priority: Earth didn't give players any feeling of achievement, more the feeling of witnessing a crime they could not prevent.

I felt absolutely epic after completing the Collector mission and the no man left behind achievement flashed up. Ok so baby reaper was a bit strange but it was still heart racing action all the way through where the choices you make mattered.

With priority Earth it was a pretty dull fight. And then the ending. Aside from the last conversations with people it wasn't anywhere near comparable.

I wanted to feel like I achieved greatness. All I got was blugh.

Suicide Mission feels like it was put together by a team with a vision.

Priority: Earth feels like it was put together by a bunch of amateurs.

That goes down even to sloppy camerawork and poor scripting. It was just bad all over. Remember when you got Pinnacle Station for ME1 and could see the clear difference in quality between that DLC and the rest of the game? Yeah, Priority Earth is ME3's Pinnacle Station.

Priority: London was very lackluster, only redeeming quality was the conversations with your squad members on site and in the communication room. So I have to go with the Suicide Mission.

Ilos/Battle of the Citadel is still my favorite ending in the series though.

Suicide mission!! I like how every party member plays a part of it. :')
Makes it feel like they actually contribute in the cause rather than sitting on their asses 90% of the time.

I prefer the suicide mission, felt like you had to at least know your team a little, if someone died, it was like, crap that was my fault.

you mean those forced interactions with the WHOLE me2 cast waiting conviniently in the heat of the battle for earth to a terminal ready to have these poor conversations?
As for ME3 squadies it is the same, conviniently placed one after another.
that whole line of speaches were forced.
Also in ME3 ther is NO inspirational shepard speach  which is a huge minus for me

I loved how in the Suicide Mission it actually looked like your whole team was fighting as a cohesive unit. Throughout priority earth, what the heck are the rest of your squadmates doing while you're renacting D-Day with a 2 man squad?

PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFT

Suicide Mission, of course. Great Music, Great Pacing, ACTUAL choices, ACTUAL consequences, MADE SENSE, Logical, Heroic, Sad, Climactic - Everything about that ending made ME2 a masterpiece.

The complete and utter opposite was the Prioroty: Earth.

God, this thread has made me angry again.

there is a inspirational speech of shepard in ME3 but it's not good as the one in first mass effect
where shepard introduced him/her self as new commanding officer.

Oh, I forgot the music...the track "Suicide Mission" from the ME2-Soundtrack is one of my favourite pieces, fits perfectly to the mission.
