Wow so many people in this topic are pedantic about team mates. So what if he has a Widow I? I played SI on Gold for ages with a Widow II because of RNG. No big deal.

N7 of 90 is fine. Seriously, people who say they would kick TC are part of the problem - if you can't handle 1 person who doesn't have ultimate gear then you must not be very confident in your own abilities. Gold isn't so hard that you need high level gear. I only have Carnifex III (or IV now I think) on my Asari Adept, who needs X?

Level of the weapon doesn't matter unless its a common, then it NEEDS to be 10 for gold. What matters is whether that person rocking the BW 5 is an AA or an Engineer. Weapon & class combinations is what we look for. I highly doubt anyone has ever gotten a kick with a message saying "get a higher level widow and then come back".

I play gold with a HS & a Phalanx. Casters can use any weapon with 180% CD they want and no one will bat an eyelash.

No, I can't handle the one person who is going to hold back the team. Gold is not a stroll in the park. 3 extremely good players can pull the weight of the 4th person, but that is NOT fun. Especially when they don't even bother to use rockets. So annoying. People should realize they're the dead weight holding the team back and make our lives better by rocketing a couple of spawn points in wave 8 & 9.

If the deciding factor of whether to kick or not rests on the level of the Rare Quality weapons, I'd be doomed. Up till now I've only gotten Carnifex II ! and It is this handgun that I roll with power spammers. (Human Sentinel, Asari Adept/Justicar, Engineers)

Strangely though if I were to play an Infiltrator then it would be the Widow X. N7 Rating isn't that high, circa early 200s. Thus far I haven't been kicked from any Gold matches even wielding a Carnifex II (It is the best I have!)

The second post is a guy who would kick the TC for only having a Widow I, which is what I was addressing when calling people pedantic. Sadly it does happen.

The other stuff is preaching to the converted though. I regular Gold AA with ~170% low level Carnifex.

Your last point is fair enough but I think there is a difference between holding back the team and just not contributing as much. Dead weight are those who die constantly away from the team with a Predator II on a Soldier. People who play a lvl 16 Infiltrator with Mantis X should be allowed a chance to play Gold. Just because he isn't lvl 20 with a Widow doesn't mean the other 3 players are going to have to lug his corpse around the place for 10 rounds.

And if you have 3 extremely good players on Gold then you don't need a 4th. Having one extremely good player along with 2 competent players and whoever else is usually enough to beat most Gold matches.

It's not about winning.  It's about winning quickly.  When you can get another random player in 30 seconds, there's no reason NOT to kick someone who doesn't look like they're ready for gold.

I only went into a gold lobby once to see if the news about being kicked was true, and by the time the lobby loaded I already had two crosses, so I left, not worth it, to me at least.

I've been doing well on gold running an AA with a Disciple. Caster classes I believe have options outside of the carnifex/phalanx (within reason). You main goal is that 175%-200% for best power spamming. There are good weapon that will do that. Now if your an AA rocking a revenant and widow at the same time, that is a different case.

I'm at rank 600 something for N7 and I still get kicked at times b/c my favorite class/combo to play is a geth infiltrator with a claymore x. Even after topping scoreboards for the match I'll get kicked or made fun of during the game don't let it get to you.

I'm only in the 90s, yet when I join groups with people on gold who are essentially about 300 or higher, no matter what class, weapons, level, or anything else I have my character set on, 9 out of 10 times I get kicked. The lack of trust based on the N7 rank is astounding. I've only ever voted to kick someone when they are trying to play a class that's level 1-3 on gold, but never for their rank(unless their N7 is 10 or lower while playing gold<_<). Am I just an unlucky case or does this happen a lot to others?

I've played with a guy with an n7 rating of over 2k. We were on firebase White with geth, and instead of coming to the lower level with the rest of us, he ran up to the back side of the upper area and started trying to hold his ground there. He died about five times more than everyone else added up, and got about three times less experience than I did (and I'm usually on the bottom or second from the bottom). judging people by n7 rating isn't fair, and doesn't work.

Anyways...

Did it ever occur to you that it might not just be your N7 level?

Your guns are terrible. I mean really, really bad. I don't expect my teammates to be backing Black Widow Xs or anything, but honestly... if the best gun you can bring tro bear is a Carnifex II then what are you doing in Gold?!

More importantly: if you have ZERO medigel, rockets or ops packs then WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN GOLD?!

Go back to Silver. Buy Veteran Packs. Level up your weapons. Use other classes until you hit N7 120. Build up a generous stockpile of consumables. Stop being a burden to Gold players.

This. Besides the N7 level, if you have nothing to bring to the group then you're getting kicked.

Your weapons suck. That's the major issue that you're getting kicked.

Hell I can understand if you're playing a infiltrator with a Mantis X but it looks like you haven't been playing that long at all.

Also once again N7 means nothing as if I did it all over again I would be at N7 level 180

Kicking someone over an N7 rating(which doesnt mean a flippin thing btw) or what guns they're carrying is just plain stupid. This is why I host most games, I have no desire to play with ppl with such prejudice attitudes.

If only we could have Bots in multiplayer, that'd be a dream come true.

You can still get kicked being the host.

I one time joined a bronze lobby with a lvl 1 character and they started complaining that I didn't have a mic and that I was level 1. Even though my N7 was 200 something at the time so they kicked me. I thought it was funny because they were using lvl 18-20's on bronze and they got mad at me. All I was thinking was wow they suck that bad that they can't even handle bronze with nearly maxed characters and they needed all 4 players to have mics. Yea they must be the most pathetic players out there.

Another note I'd like to add is I noticed people kick because of race. I'm not Japanese but I have a Japanese name as my gamertag( its from an anime) and I get kicked simply because they think I'm Japanese. The second I join a lobby they'll start saying racist things over the mic and then they kick me. I can't believe the frequency at which it happens too. People are such pieces of s***.

I've never been kicked based on N7 rank. Only time I've been kicked was because I was trying out my Drell adapt, against geth on Silver. I was doing very little damage. My performance in terms of points was way under the others. While I didn't get downed a bunch of times, I wasn't much of a contributor.

I haven't touched the Drell adapt again. And I make a better habit to match my character to the rest of the room. No more choosing an adept when the rest of the room in Infiltrators and Engineers.

You could be an amazing one class player at N7 20. However, most gold matches fail because of lack of synergy between teammates. Having a higher n7 may not necessarily prove you have experience but it is the only thing that can quickly be implied with an N7 200 plus.

If I'm in a pug and there are a couple sub-100 n7, I would leave rather than kick. However, if I played a match or two on silver with you and you showed skill I would definitely suggest bumping up to gold.

It is the unknown variables with a low level N7 that causes the quick and biased reactions.

Ps I don't play fbwgg. If you are being kicked from a fbwgg then that is pathetic. Fbwgg is not real gold and even bronze only vets can succeed at it. In unknown unknown gold matches players need skill, knowledge and experience to succeed.

Hmm to be honest im at level 120 and have not moved, however if im hosting (Coffey719) , I don't give a toss if someone joins my team at level 3, its a game and fun, you may also find some of the guys on lower levels are far better than some of the arsewipes over 2058  who dont give a toss about you or your crew, he/she just wants to look good get more points and **** on the others, I have come across this alot of times, ive died more times trying to save their ass to find ive run out of gels, croaked and then bam they get up and carry on, whilst im  in spector mode to get more points, so guys if im hosting and you have a lower level, I Will Not Kick You Out, it would be a pleasure to play and have fun with you, so look out for Coffey1967 :D.

Unfortunately, it might not be JUST your N7 level that's getting you kicked. If I saw someone with low leveled weapons AND a low N7 level, just just tells me they haven't been playing very long and probably shouldn't be in Gold yet.

for me it is this, for the most part. Basically, though, it is really the weapon level. My experience is that N7 even inthe 200-300 range, or higher, if they have a level 1 rare weapon, there is a chance they are not goign to be very helpful. I honestly am surprised when I come across a N7 400+ and they are sporting a carnifex 1. I don't know how you get to that level and not have a collection of IIIs and IVs. I am at 170, and everything is above a V (many Viis and VIIIs, and 1 X) except the graal(II). I guess I was uinlucky on that a bit..., but most everythign else has leveled pretty evenly. I don't promote, but if I did, I suppose I would be in the 300-400s.

I stay at 120. Promoting is totally pointless imo. Luckily i am rarely kicked. I usually switch up my character pretty often, i like to use my Batarian Sentinel the most with the Harpoon gun 7, or the black window 2.

But most matches i have, i really see no difference in high ranking n7 players and lower ones. As long as a player has a level 17+ character i usually don't kick. I've seen a lot of crappy high level players, so i dont discriminate the low n7 players.

It is nice when they have higher level weapons, but a widow 1 with a player that can actually aim is better then one with a widow 10 that cant aim. Both weapons still can kill as long as you can hit your target.
