The ironic thing being that each Gears game actually has a decent amount of real choices you have to make, which determine which of two actually differing gameplay section you go through.Rxdiaz wrote...
This IS supposed to be a RPG right? Or is it just some half assed Gears of War knockoff?

Yes, you get 10 valuable extra war asset that will surely give you a whole variety of endings.
It's the same as any decision you have to make in Mass Effect, really. With the key difference being that in Gears you know you're "just" choosing between a path A and path B, and will experience the actually tangligible result of that decision only moments later in actual gameplay.Naughty Bear wrote...

Your ****ting me.
Picking which two routes to go is not really a choice, both lead to the same end and does not affect the plot. Your either defending or attacking, no difference.

Mass Effect, on the other hand, hands you false promises of decisions having big consequences one or two games later, and ultimately only delivers a differing line or two depending on what "decision" you made earlier, and these are used a fair amount of times to simply explain why things are exacly the same as they would be had you made the other choice.
