I thought Traynor was Indian. Isn't it common for an Indian to have a British accent?
There are a lot of Indians that live in Great Britain, and English speaking countries in general. There's also a growing number of biracial/mixed race Indian people due to the immigration boom since the 70's. I'm one of them.
She might not have mentioned her ethnicity because she was of mixed race, like most people in the the (Mass Effect) future are. Kasumi and Vega are the only characters I can remember who make a point of referencing their ethnicity.
Back to Revelation (describing Anderson): "His features, like most citizens in the multicultural society of the late twenty-second century, were a mix of several different racial characteristics. Predominantly African, but Grissom thought he could see lingering traces of Central European and Native American ancestry as well."

Also in Mass Effect's timeline, it would seem ethnicity has taken a back seat to determining someone's origin. It owuld seem where one's colony is at is the new deal.
Again as someone of Indian origin, I really don't find to lack or presence of my ethnicity a deal breaker.

I found him boring and annoying.
If we must have an Indian it should be a young boy, something like from Indiana Jones.
Not as annoying as a full grown person but still annoying.

Indiana Shepard: "Listen, Shortround, shut up while I turn this thing on."
Liara (as the blonde lady): "Indyyyyyyyyyyy! There are dead bodies everywhere! My nice white clothes are getting dirty!"

I did as well. She's obviously British by accent, but she looks like an Indian. Descended from folks who went to the UK from the colony was my thought.GlassElephant wrote...

I kind of hoped Samantha Traynor was of Indian descent. Her ethnicity is never mentioned and I know there's a decent Indian population in the UK.
I assumed Samantha Traynor was Indian.

Yup, that was the very first thing that came to my mind when I saw Traynor the first time. You don't have to be british or indian to recognize that between the colonial history, and India having remained a commonwealth state after independence, that cultural cross-pollination is there to stay.GlassElephant wrote...

EDIT: And might I say, not for wont of sounding insensitive (but what I have to say is so important IDGAF) but at least for the sake of cuisine, thank god. My family despite having lived in the states for almost 200 years retains a pretty damn heavy english tradition, and I live in an area that's heavily irish and german. If I had to subsist on traditional english or irish fare alone I'd kill someone.

Also the Systems Alliance Prime Minister's last name is Shastri. I'm pretty sure that's an Indian last name.
And of course Aishwarya Ashland has an Indian first name so I guess the Ashland family is part Indian.
And Hendel Mitra is part Indian and part Nordic.

He's being held captive by the ****s inside a tapestry strewn castle.
Shepard MUST rescue his father to gain access to his father’s journal…which is the User Manual for the Crucible/Catalyst.
