Okay, topic creator here. Anyway, um... Darth_Trethon? You've lost the argument, stop trying. It's a fact that blood magic can be learned 100% separate from demons, period. For that matter, demons do not "power" blood magic. The way it works is mana is typically what powers magic, but blood is stronger then mana and can be used as an alternate power source. When blood magic is used, it's you using a stronger medium, your own life force in the form of blood, to power your spells up and not need mana to use them. Absolutely no demonic presence. There could be no demons left anywhere in the Fade or Thedus and blood magic would work just fine regardless.

Seriously, this is getting off topic, and you are incorrect down to the most basic level. You lost the argument, have the courage to admit it and back off, and stop trying to derail this with your bad argument.

Mass Effect 3.

DA2, while I was interested in the game, I was not invested in it. (I get invested in characters, not worlds.)  ME3 on the other hand had a lot to accomplish and it accomplished quite a bit. However it also failed on a number of other fronts for various reasons, no neutral dialogue option, too much auto-dialogue, some of Shep's expressions are just blank, certain characters (Kai Leng) didn't work at all and of course the ending. The thing that made Mass Effect "Mass Effect" was the dialogue wheel and to see that stripped down so much was a big disappointment. It's still a good game, but it's not the game it should have been and not only because of the ending.

I thought mass effect 3 was the best of the series IMO. The ending just ruins all of it. I think if the ending was as satisfying as we all thought it would be we'd all be praising the game haha. Maybe they'll fix it with the extended cut but we'll see.

ME3 without a doubt... I thought the entire game was pretty disastrous. ME1 and ME2 where FAR better and ME3 felt like a cashout.

DA2 by far.

I consider ME3 to be a great game, and I don't see the ending so catastrofic and traumatic as people does. Still, there are some seious problems with it (eem.... simplified conversation and auto conversation) but I found it a very enjoyable game.

DA2, I can't with it, my problems with it go to the very concept of it's desingn (a failed mixture between a RPG and God Of War): aesthetical change, fighting mechanic (overall gaming mechanics), massive simplification.

And even I found the ending as disastrous as many people does I couldn't say that ME3 is a bigger disappointment than DA2, because I can't condem a whole game for just 10 mins against another one that I consider totally mediocre in all of it's aspects.

ME3 without a doubt.
Dragon age 2 was terrible. But ME3 was de the ending of an epic story, it was build up such an expectation towards it. And they throw it all away in the last 10 minutes. not saying that the game was perfect without the endings, because it WASN'T, but the endings were just insulting.

Neither, both games were fun to play. I had a higher emotional investment in ME. It sounds, to me, as if a lot of people still posting here need to move on, if they're going to be this negative. It's time for the unruly, angry mob to "fight" against something logically wrong, i.e. The Elder Scrolls: Online.

Mass Effect 3, by far.

DA2 was disappointing, but it didn't retroactively destroy the entire series for me.

Both were *extremely* bad, each for a variety of reasons.

I can ignore DA2 because it really wasn't a sequel to DAO which stands by itself fine, DA2 neither added nor brought anything that couldn't be forgotten. But in this case the game that sucked harder was ME3. ME3 was going to be *it*, the one that put both ME1 & 2 to bed and finished in grand style the Shepard trilogy, what we got was not even close...

ME 3 for me, DA2 was disappointing sure but I didn't think it was that bad, and i can still play DA:O no problems, but with ME3 because of the continous nature of a trilogy i find it hard to get motivated about playing the previous 2 just because i know how crappily its all gonna end

ME3.
I liked DA2 a lot, it was the game I played the most in 2011. I played ME3 only once and I doubt I'll play it again.

ME3 was a bigger disappointment when it came to wrapping up the series. The game as a whole was very good until the last 5 minutes and the ending cutscene.

DA2 was a huge let down too though, but across the board. It just oooooooooozed mediocrity and laziness. It had practically NOTHING to do with the original game. Why they bothered to call it DA2, I'll never understand. It wasn't a "sequel" in any sense of the word. It was more like that stupid Final Fantasy series where the games are numbered but have nothing to do with one another. That **** is gay.

Mass Effect 2 was a far bigger let down, do to the amount of anticipation many of us had. Dragon age didn't seem as popular as ME.

All of you that said Mass Effect 3 lost ALL credibility.

Or not. Because maybe some of us don't give a damn about Dragon Age in the first place.

Most certainly Dragon Age II, but that was my own fault.

Up until Dragon Age II, Bioware had done no wrong in my eyes. KOTOR, Jade Empire, DA:O, the first two Mass Effects, all amazing games.

I saw the signs with the Game Informer cover story (I bought it specifically to read up on Dragon Age II). I didn't like the new art style, but it wasn't awful. I actually thought it was a great idea to see somewhere new with new characters.

I saw demos and videos that made the combat look less tactical. "It's just videos. It's just not a good shot."

Then I played it.

As for Mass Effect 3, there were some genuinely amazing moments. Grissom Academy, Mordin at the Shroud, Quarian and Geth Ending. There were a lot of bad elements, but it still had some good.

Maybe I'm still bitter, but I see very little to like in Dragon Age II.

They were both bad games - I'm voting DA2, since DA:O was an actual RPG, and ME was always a shooter with RPG 'bits' stuck on it.

Hard to compare for me.

I worshipped Dragon Age: Origins. I don’t really want to admit to the number of play-throughs or hours put into it, but it’s pathetically much ;)

By comparison, I played through Dragon Age 2 once. It had some okay things about it but it was a very mediocre game. At the time, I was pretty devastated by it. I wasn’t… angry at Bioware or writing about it in the forums, though. I was just very disappointed and saddened by what came out of such spectacular potential. At that time, I don’t think I’ve ever been more let down by a game I’ve purchased (mind you, I have played much worse games).

With ME3… I was more upset. Maybe because the ending felt like such a miserable whimper compared to the bang I’d been led to believe I’d get. As a whole, I think ME3 is a better game than Dragon Age 2 but it left me more agitated. Maybe because it was the third strike, for me, but mostly because of how Bioware handled the whole thing.

I think DA2 had a few more redeeming qualities but was still the worse game and a bigger dip-down from the original. ME3, however, had such a spectacularly poor ending and the PR was dealt with in such a horrific manner that it became the bigger disappointment for me.

See, I was disappointed in Dragon Age 2. After ME3, I was disappointed and disillusioned by Bioware as a whole.

Without a doubt, ME3

While the 3rd act of DA 2 was a bit strange, it doesn't come close to the disappointment of ME 3.

I thuoght both titles were really good. DA:2's combat made it much appealing to me. ME3 was just too great. I love that my actions really shake up and change the Galaxy.

DA2 disappointed me, but that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy it! I liked it!
ME3 was pretty awesome, but a little linear!

I enjoyed playing both games more than their predecessors. All three ME games and both DA games have significant flaws and plotholes, but they are fun to play anyway.

I am more disappointed with DA2, but only because it was trying to do something I really want to see more of (character centered games that aren't about saving the universe due to external power ups), but the poor fan reaction stemming from some of the rushed elements of the game makes that less likely to happen again. It already got the expansion cancelled. :(

I am apparently in a minority, but I am really tired of games where the fate of all mankind rests lightly on your hero's undoubting shoulders, thanks to some outside factor you have no choice about.

I want DA3 to be a better DA2, not another DAO.

ME3 without question. I wasn't super upset with DA2's end, and playing it didnt decrease my enjoyment of DAO.

Unfortunately the end of ME3 has made it so that i cannot enjoy the previous two games.

lolwut......were you asleep during the game? Did you get a copy of ME3 that nobody has seen yet? Did you actually FINISH one playthrough of ME3?

Your actions do nothing......it makes no difference what you do or who you side with or which allies you lose.....it really does not matter at all because in the end you will be greeted by exactly the same by the exact same startroll offering you the exact same choice of colors for your explosions......and your crew still deserts you to go crash on some unknown jungle world. There is absolutely no difference....unless you considder choosing a color to count as "shaking up the gallaxy" lol.....if that's the case I just shook the gallaxy this morning when I bought a sweater....I chose black

Well I really was not expecting much from dragon age 2 so I already geared up for something unsatisfying. Mass effect 3 took all my hopes and threw them in a volcano when star brat spoke and shepard obliged to him
