If the person repeatedly chain dies on gold waves 1 & 2 running around like a death magnet never using any cover on any map with any enemy.

Death is obviously what they were looking for and not the objective of team survival so I let them stay down.

People usually die trying to get to them anyways when that individual is like 50 miles out from where the team is pulling hostiles too.

People I consider not reviving
1) Lone wolf types (usually Vanguards) or Krogans on a Bash run that end up near a horde of enemies or way too close to Brutes/Atlas
2)People that make no effort to stop engaging targets when someone goes down. Leaving it up to someone else while they continue to score.
3)People that leave the timed "Hack Area", leaving everyone else to wait out the clock while they go on a scoring run.

Do you ever let your teammate bleed out when you know you could safely revive them?

Usually not if I can safely get to them. Which is almost always the case as an infiltrator.
But there was this one case on Dagger. A Geth Engineer on silver who'd always run down onto the middle of the plaza at the beginning of a wave and then die rather quickly.
No-one revived them and after three waves they stuck with the team and all was well. Did a good job, so not actually a bad player. Just needed to teach 'em some tactics. :D

Not a good idea as you can't always tell if the other player's not just preventively taking out an enemy you just didn't see before they got close.
They might just have saved your butt and you let them bleed out - great job.

I try to revive whenever I can, but sometimes I am unable to, especially if someone wanders into a mob or starts playing tag with atlases. I try to warn that I may not be able to revive though whenever I see someone doing something dumb.

If someone dies far away I don't usually bother.

The only time I don't revive is if I'm knee deep in mooks or engaged in a fight with a boss mob. Amazing also how some won't revive period. Even if your in the clear and no enemies in sight. Instead they go off to chase a nemesis that the other squad mates have well under control, just because "more killing". Then when they die and don't revive them, you curse some people having a mic.

i usually take notice of who are the ones that get killed most...i revive them until wave 6....then they are on their own from wave 7 onwards...

also if the 3rd placed on the scoreboard has like 20k more xp than the 4th placed guy....i wont revive him/her...cuz i know he is more of a liability than an actual capable teammate

Ill generally revive everyone around me, and even charge across the map if it's possible. but if they died in the middle of a warzone then you're on your own mate

Speaking as someone who is not very good at this game, I am sure that I occasionally (often) make stupid mistakes that make more experienced players tear their hair out in frustration; that said, I think it is wrong to let someone bleed out for these reasons and pat yourself on the back saying "that'll learn yer!"

I mean, fair enough

- If I'm being a jerk over the mic
- If I'm yelling stupid instructions all the time and get angry when no one listens to me
- If I'm dying halfway across the map in the middle of what is essentially a deathtrap

then ok, I understand why peoply might not want to risk their hide to revive me.
However, if it is because I did something noobish/foolish/stupid I think the least one should do is tell me.

If I am just left to die without being told "see, what you did there was stupid for these reasons [explanation] and you messed up strategy X for these reasons [explanation]" my first interpretation will be that people are being jerks for no reason and I'll have no chance to improve (and consequently be less of a dead weight).

Just my newbie two cents.

I only let people bleed out when they're off trying to do their own thing, and the rest of the team is sticking together.  The first three deaths I'll revive him, but from then on, if he still doesn't get that he needs to do something different then he can fend for himself.  Kinda sucks when the guy that keeps bleeding out is the host. Another reason not to trust low N7 levels.

Nope. If I can safely revive a team mate I will. Right up until they don't return the favor.

Only if they're a grief player. In my book a grief player is:
a) Human Vanguard on Bronze
B) Krogan who doesn't help with hacks
c) Anyone who constantly starts a wave in a good killzone/bad tactical position

I'll rez anyone else, even if I get my own char killed.

Guilty. I once played a Bronze match with a guy with horrible attitude (a Batarian, how fitting). He ran across the map on Reactor and was followed by a new N7 player who was doing what you're meant to do, i.e. stick together in pairs if you're not in a group, so you have eachother's backs. The Batarian just kept demeaning him, telling him to stop following him, and when the newbie died twice right next to him, he wouldn't revive him and just said: "this is what happens when you don't know what you're doing". Then the newbie quit the match. I confess I was praying the Batarian would die and sure enough, he did and I let him bleed out. Was it petty? Yes. Did it feel great? Yes.

as i play INF i take it as my job to do rez, and will do so in some questionable situations. however, if i have rez'd four times in two mins then yeah, learn to stay alive, its more efficient for me to keep fighting. also, if i have rez'd you four times, return the favour the one time i do go down. usually rezing somebody else! what really started annoying recently is peeps obv not mashing the a button. if I'm gone risk my ass running cross map to you at least put some effort into surviving.

If my GF is watching, who as a general rule doesn't touch games, and is shouting at the tv about so-and-so dyeing again and telling me i should just let him die this time, i think its bleed out time :)

Yes, usually when they are someplace they shouldn't be. Like on the upper deck on White on a gold mission.

this may be beside the point, but even lagging players sometimes can be useful. I encountered one of those the other day on Giant, I could see him hovering on one spot, being not able to move and the geths were all drawn to him like moths to lights.

I was playing GI (fully specced for melee), so you know how that turned out. cloaked, slipped into the crowd, a prox mine then carnage. rinse and repeat. we made it to extraction in record time.

so yeah, as long as it doesn't put you or the team in danger, revive your downed teammates even if they keep dying. they could serve as a decoy that way, at least until extraction. because i wouldn't play another mission with them.

I think someone playing a Geth Engineer did this to some Adept in a game I was in that decided it would be best to bring in the biggest, heaviest guns they could find. I don't think I would have left them as I'm not particularly vindictive, but I was in no position to do anything since a Phantom had already got the drop on me and laid me out. After all the crap in that game though, I'd be sorely tempted to forget that I'm supposed to be the good guy.

Yeah, these guys were only in the 20s range of N7 levels, but there's a rookie mistake and then there's total absence of common sense. Not to mention that when they bled out they gave an earful of abuse to everyone on the team, so they're blacklisted in my eyes.

I'll do it if a player is running everywhere and dying everywhere every minutes, i've just done a game where a Krogan Vanguard lv 15 ( n7 60 ) was charging like a retard, he had a mic and everytimes he was down he was yelling " come save me " after 3 revives i had enough and let him die ... then the only things he was saying were " You S** of a ..... i hope you're gonna die .... "

PS: it was on Gold, I only play on gold

If they're safely reachable, I will revive them, but I'm not gonna run to the other side of the map to do it. Some people seem to think they can solo gold, like they can on bronze. You most likely can't and you're going to spend half the match dead.

Sometimes, letting them bleed out teaches them a lesson. They need to realise that they should stay near the group.
