Like most of you who bought the limited edition of Mass Effect 3, you experienced the horrors of removing the disc. Now it seems my nightmares have come true. As I was trying to remove the disc, it now has crack around the ring. Didn't think it would actually happen, but damnit.. Now it has.

Luckily, I found me some of those disc packets. Put the discs in there now. The limited edition case I guess is now for show. This is about as bad as the limited edtion I got for Halo 3.

:crying:

Totally read the title wrong. But yeah removing the disc terrifies me. Sorry to hear that. Check with EA support, maybe they'll replace it.  If not, in the past whenever I've asked for something reasonable and they can't do it cuz of some policy, they always give me a 15-20% coupon for Origin store.

I always wondered if other people had this problem. Stupid limited edition cases not being designed for usability in the long term. Luckily I used to subscribe to OXM and had some disc packets lying around.

I have a couple blank DVD cases that I keep the discs in. The CE case is absolute crap. It scratches too easily, and is a nightmare to get the discs out of.

I miss the cases they used in the last console generation, I've been having a problem with more than just Mass Effect 3's case.

Seriously?  I don't think so.  It's foolish that they didn't make sure the disc comes in and out of the case properly.  I have had a lot of difficulty getting the disc out of the case as well and I'm surprised mine hasn't cracked yet considering how much I've had to work to get it out on many occasions.

Here's one:  how about they make a decent case for an $80 game???? You can get a $20 game in a functional case, for crying out loud!  It was one of those important details that they missed.

I never ever put the ME3 limited edition disc back since I was able to get them out. Thats just how bad the CE box is. There is no excuse not to have a good case that is actually not going to destroy the disc because lets be honnest. That kind of box always destroy the dvd and is pure bull**** I don't even understand why this kind of format is still used by company or allowed to be used at all.

I'm terrified of breaking the discs, so I have them in dvd cases until I can find a cheap regular edition to use instead.

I pretty much have a nervous breakdown every time I have to take a disc out of the CE case, and this has motivated me to finally put the discs in alternate storage!

Just don't put it back in the holders.

Just let those disks freeball.

$7 usd. Covers any damage to disc for 2 years. It's replaced with a new game disc. Cost only about 68-89 usd. Long run... Saves you money. How about this. If you don't buy a warranty to **** about having to spend more money to replace it.

Same thing happened to me on the second day took it back to gamestop and since the guy was cool he gave me another disc only problem he gave me the regular disc. It works fine and all but I liked having the N7 logo on the disc.

This is why you move it to another regular case while you're playing it.

I didn't really think much about getting insurance. I thought it was a waste of money since I'm pretty good at taking care of my games. But now, I might think twice. It's unfortunate that this happened and I blame the damn person who designed the case. I almost teared up.

It actually reads the game and plays fine. But if it decides to start acting up, I will definitely give EA a call (Or whoever can help).

Contact your local consumer rights organisation and lodge an official complaint. If the disk is made fomr substandard materials, or the act of removing it from the packagaing weakens or damages it, then the product can be officially classified as "not fit for purpose", and EA will be forced to grant you a free replacement disk, and/or redesign the packaging to remove this risk.

If it happens to numerous peolpe, than a class action cannot be ruled out. Ignore that line in the EULA, as its not worth the paper/pixels its printed on, and will not stand up in a court of law.
