I finally figured out how to remove them properly it requites violent, violent amounts of pressure.

Yup. That's not a good thing. ME2's standard edition got it right.

One of the many reasons why digital downloading is superior. Can't wait for consoles to catch up.

That's why you buy insurance/extended warranty :P

Seriously?  I don't think so.  It's foolish that they didn't make sure the disc comes in and out of the case properly.  I have had a lot of difficulty getting the disc out of the case as well and I'm surprised mine hasn't cracked yet considering how much I've had to work to get it out on many occasions.

Here's one:  how about they make a decent case for an $80 game???? You can get a $20 game in a functional case, for crying out loud!  It was one of those important details that they missed.

$7 usd. Covers any damage to disc for 2 years. It's replaced with a new game disc. Cost only about 68-89 usd. Long run... Saves you money. How about this. If you don't buy a warranty to **** about having to spend more money to replace it.

Limited edition. Doesn't apply here. All retailers will do is refund you your security deposit as they don't have any other disc in stock from the same product.

I hear that if the disc does crack, you get a better ending—the one in your head. :D

I really dislike the steelbox for I have had a game and dvd that were sold in those cases break. Since I bought the PC version I have never removed the disks and just downloaded the game off Origin because of this very issue.

Ugh, now I know that my fears aren't just paranoia.

I was so excited to get the game only to carefully pull around the disk in order to avoid cracking the CD. I spent several minutes carefully removing the disk from that awful case. I tend to have the same problem with DVD cases, but they were never this defective!

When the ending gets fixed--if it gets fixed--I'm transferring the discs to some paper slip covers and storing them in the case.

Yeah I was scared of that too when I went into the case for it ever since then I never fit the discs on the pike thing. xD I just laid them on the side with all the fancy DLC download codes and laid the case down.

I'm never gonna touch the ME3 discs again. If I ever do get the urge to play ME3 again (only a massive DLC would make me come back), I'll just download it from *shudder* Origin.

By "catch up" I assume you mean day 1 downloading.

Lol.. Why do people even put the disc back in the CE box?. You might as well throw it in the garbage disposal.

That's about the only good thing about Origin. If the disc is damaged you still have a digital copy tied to your account. I'm not sure how this works with consoles but if they don't provide this service yet, they should if Microsoft and Sony allow it.

I think Portal 2 kinda does this for PS3 users. If you buy Portal 2 on PS3 then you get a free digital download of Portal 2 on PC.

What you do is get a pair of nail clippers and you remove the very top of the circle-spokes thing in the case. Don't remove the center holders, just run a nail clipper across the top of them. You'll see what I'm talking about if you try it.

I was told to do that and was reluctant at first. I didn't want to mutilate my case. After you try it though, you realize that it doesn't break the case at all. The disc still holds as good as a regular, DVD case, and it looks just as good as before.

It was a stupid case design idea to add the tiny pegs. The first time I tried to take it out, the disc nearly bended in half.

I must be really lucky because I haven't had any problems with CE and I have removed discs from the box many many times. But I feel sorry for all of you.

With RockBand3 I had this happen twice. I got the CE addition and was horrified. There was no way those disc were going back in that thing. I have a sleeve. If you're disc are not cracked yet, they will be soon unless you take an action like I did soon.

I had the same damn thing happen, my disc 2 cracked actually a piece of the DVD popped off making it paper thin right at the center of the disc....and EA warranty support is not very good they can't answer basic questions about how long it would take to get a replacement.

^^ DO THIS!!!

I just now finished doing it to mine! The disks go in and come out with ease!

Thanks for the suggestion! :)

Considering the amount of space on console hard drives I can see why.
