I've heard this more times than I can count, but is this true? Yes and no.

I say it's all perspective. I imagine those that claim this would feel differently if the game ended with Shepard and Star child throwing on a top hat, grabbing a cane, and doing a Me And My Shadow number, followed by a 'The End' title card.

There's a line for everyone, somewhere. I can easily understand someone still enjoying the game, even after being horrified by the ending, just as I understand easily why the whole experience can be ruined. The line and rationalization can be different for everyone, and it's not always so much a choice liking flipping a light switch on or off. Sometimes things click, and sometimes they don't.

The last 10 mins can definately ruin a game. If the last 10 minutes prevent me from playing the game again, then it has ruined the game.

If you let 10 minutes ruin 20 hours of fun, you're just plain retarded tbh

Ruined the game? Hell it ruined the whole series, and honestly, I hope it ruins Bioware so other developers learn a lesson.

nah, it can ruin the entire series, now replaying ME1,2,3 feels so pointless

Not sure how it would ruin the game, as it's still fun regardless. But it can certainly ruin a story.

When the story is so important to the ability to enjoy a game, then this factor can absolutely ruin a game.

I'm not retarded for being able to see that the previous twenty hours turned out to be a waste of time. Imagine meeting a great girl, spending all day with with her, partying all night long and then watching the sun rise on the beach as you hold her in your arms.

Then finding out she's a dude...

Would you feel the same about ME3, taking my example into consideration?

Actually the ending can ruin everything that came before some examples would be Lost, Battle Star Galactica, and though It has not been released yet I'll guarantee that the new Batman movie is gonna so the same for the previous two..

That I can understand. But I speak merely of the mechanics. I meant that it's fun as a shooter/pseudo-RPG(especially with multiplayer). And please note that I do not consider ME just another shooter. Just stating that it can act as one if you feel like ignoring the whole "immersive experience" thing.

It can and it did. I have yet to actually play any single player. I turned it on on the 28th for that movement thing. But as far as I am concerned, until the ending is fixed, this game is dead to me.

Heh heh, the classic youtube comment, that one. :bandit:

If you don't like what i like, you're a retard.
If you disagree with me, you're a retard.
If I think your opinion is wrong, you're a retard.

This x100. I played through ME1 and ME2 no telling how many times before ME3 came out. Haven't replayed them at all since I finished up my first playthrough of ME3...and I damn sure haven't played through ME3 again.

I'm just numb to the series like a lot of folks are. Such a shame.

The endings are so powerful and so wrong that they can ruin not only ME3, but the entire franchise. Some people felt like this, so I think that this is kind of true. StarChild can ruin the series for some people. Some people can ignore Casper and go headcanon. Others, don't.

It ruined for me. Almost 2 months since I met Star Brat and I did not touch any ME game since that. To be completely honest, I did played only one time, for the turnME3on/off campaign.,

Yes it can, when said game is the third and final game in the trilogy.

There are bad endings, illogical endings, then there is the ME3 ending.

For a narrative-driven game, yes it can.

In fact, it did. For me and for others.

It sure can. Watch Nobel Prize Winner Daniel Kahneman talking about that in TED:

The first twenty hours were fun, and that can't be taken away, -but- the ending was bad enough to ruin any future playthroughs.
