Unfortunately, I am guilty of this. I don't leave many reviews typically because I actually write them out. Instead of the typical "Update soon!" or "This is really good!" I actually make notes on consistent grammar mistakes, characterizations and just generally what the author did or didn't do right. I make sure to leave plenty of praise, where warranted and constructive comments throughout and the result is a very long review.... So, in essence, I get too lazy to do it right, because I will not simply leave a sentence or two on a work. If I'm going to make the effort, then the writer deserves more than that.
Do you normally just leave a single review for the whole thing? If so, maybe doing chapter-wise reviews might help with this – you can still address trends and so on as you go.
