-Ultimate Edition
-Retail Disc
-Patch 1.04
-Windows Vista 64 Bit
-third party mods installed, majority of which are dialogue/bug fixes
I've done the following so far:
-un-installing and re-installing
-playing with mods removed
The title mostly explains sums up my problem. It happened from when I began a new playthrough, and it's been happening throughout the majority of my current playthrough. The soundtrack and voices become very distorted, and once a character finishes his/her line in a conversation, the scene freezes while the music continues in the background, and then after about a few minutes the freeze ends with my dialogue choices being presented, skipping over every other line that may have been spoken in between.
It's really random at times. It occurs around minutes to at most an hour apart from each conversation that I have.
I'm at a bit of a loss here, because this kind of thing never happened in the last 3 full playthroughs of the game that I've done in the past. It happens very often and it's very flow breaking when I'm trying to lose myself in the experience. I'm wondering if there's anything I can do about this problem?
Distorted dialogue during conversations, followed by a momentary 1-5 minute freeze before scene continues normally.

Do you have a DX10 (not DX9 or DX11) graphics card? If so, apply patch 1.05. There were some tweaks in that patch just for those cards. Otherwise, not sure. Did anything else change on your rig recently?

Apparently I have Direct X 11.according to my configurations. I'm a bit cautious about applying patch 1.05 considering the nasty comments that were posted in that topic.

Patch 1.05 has far more people helped, than posting nasty comments. I would take the chance if I were you. Although we could guess a bit more if you gave us more information as per the "READ FIRST" sticky, e.g. hardware specs. Your windows might be DirectX 11 but your graphics hardware might not.
