Far as I'm concerned Shepard didn't survive it, Seeing someone take ONE quick breath DOES NOT constitute "Surviving" which I might add is one reason I HATE this Cluster **** of an ending

The scene is called "Shepard_Alive" in the files, not "Shepard_Dying"

Who cares what the brain donors at BW named the file the scene is far to SHORT to validate living or dying

Purely speculation. Shep, jumped to the Crucible after choice was made and crashed on Earth. Still would have died a "real" death.

Shep never left Earth and the rubble we see is the military compound after the Reapers actually destroyed it.

The Crucible didn't actually fire and it was all Shep's imagination.

Walters and Hudson were so caught up with throwing ideas off of one another that no one noticed a Sith lord walk into the room, make quick and precise cuts to the game, and wave his hand and whisper, "The game is complete, release it now."

You can't explain this without using the IT.
If the IT is true, then Shepard wasn't at the Citadel at all.
But this is one of the reasons that the ending is just a big plothole.

Ofc I can explain it. Shepard got lucky and Shepard got better. Let's not act as if it was the first time.

Space Magic :wizard:

Only explanation. Well there is some people who will say we just didn't get the ending, but never actually offer an explanation.

Because "Shepard_Alive_but_not_for_long_due_to_various_types_of_wounds_without_proper_and_immediate_medical_attention_not _to_mention_various_other_unexplained_plotholes_that_make_survivability_impossible.bk"
was too many characters for a file name, so they pulled a D-Bag tactic and renamed it to something a little more hopeful...

It was meant to be the spark that gets everyone to question what they saw. Notice the top of the page, this was handed to Geoff Keighly in early summer 2011.

The blast is in front of the Crucible, we never see the blast zone up close after it fires. We don't know enough about the fictional nature of the blast or the Citadel or Crucible or Mass Effect technology to say for certain everything must be blasto'd.

Also I have seen several IRL explosions and I am repeatedly surprised by what can survive within a blast radius and what can't.

Lastly if we were to assume the Crucible/Citadel Megazord is essentially a gigantic SPACE GUNZ with three Star Trek-like phaser settings LOL then no matter what color energy blast we pick the explosive cloud we see could just be a gigantic muzzle fire bloom. We could then assume that the force from that gigantic space gunz's muzzle fire then breaks apart the barrel aka the Citadel arms, but the firing pin aka the Crucible could remain intact.

Sheperd is standing in middle of an explosion the size of Hiroshima.

He is not going to escape it.

Shep just survived a Reaper beam, Shep "survived" terminal velocity and re-entry and now you want to insist things are impossible?

Get the **** out. LOL

The blast from the device whereever Starchild is does engulf Shep, but see above.

The main blast as seen from the front blooms into a cloud, see my gigantic space gunz muzzle fire expo.

To be so damn certain about things, to refuse possibilities is the most asinine of positions. It's like you just want to be angry. LOL

He didn't survive terminal velocity and reentry in ME2, that planet only had 85% of the atmosphere of Earth AND he had full armor. He still ended up as "bones and meat."

I'm sorry, you must not know what "quotes" can mean. Shep "survived" smashing into a planetoid. The game tells us enough was left of the brain and other parts to "grow back" Shep and not a create clone etc.

Shepard DID wake up in London.
After shooting out the safety glass on the "Destroy" tube, the initial explosion became an implosion, sucking him into the now exposed escape pod which blasted off the citadel and back down towards London, where it crashed into the rubble. When Shepard woke up he go home and be a family man

I know what IT is, balance. The thread asked for a non-IT explanation. I gave one. Leafs43 however has shown he/she just wants to be miserable and not accept any possibilities.
