My 360 is 3 or 4 years old and it runs everything new that comes out. My PC is a little older and can't run things that came out 2 years ago. Practicality and common sense dictate that if and when I buy games, they will be for the 360.
Unless the new governement stimulus involves cash for clunker PCs... then I'll be all over that.

Also, it is alot easier to save up 60 bucks for a game that runs than to justify spending $500-800 on a new computer to run a $60 game. If I had the ability to save up $500 I would have to use my brain and realize that's half my rent and I cannot justify dropping that much to make a good experience better. Am I the only one living in the actual economy? The way some people on here talk about it's not that much to upgrade must not have "more important/necessity" items to spend that money on.

Just offer your local geek (everyone should know at least one of us) and offer a home cooked meal. We can usually get an aging PC up to snuff for around 250 bucks

I am not a PC player, we play the 360 version and it is still a fabulous game. I don't care for all the community mods, the nit picked armor, boob sizes, textures or quicker patches. I am perfectly pleased by playing my 360 game how it is. The story is rich, the play is enjoyable and the graphics are truly not lacking in my opinion. I still get to use the forums here and have my characters updated to my profile here as well.
In the end, you shall decide if the couch/desk chair - keyboard/mouse - community mods/glitch fix is really the question. I note that your original question was should you use 20 GB on it. Sure
I would however, no matter what you choose in the end, recommend buying it if you enjoy RPG games. It's been my latest addiction

If you want to be able to play the game without any significant glitches or problems get a console version....PS3/360.....the game runs absolutely flawlessly.
Enough said.

No. You're living in a false dichotomy. You're saying that it's either pay for just the game when you get the XBox version, or pay for the game and an entire new computer if you get the PC version, but those weren't the choices presented by the OP. He apparently has both an XBox and a PC, and wouldn't need to buy any new hardware for Dragon Age. Don't forget that the XBox isn't free either. It would be just as silly to recommend someone buy an XBox and the XBox version of the game as your example of buying a new PC for the PC version.SarEnyaDor wrote...

Let me put it bluntly if you can run the game on you computer then get the computer version, but if you prefer playing on consoles then get it for the consoles and vice versa

Tell ya what, you have all these fine people giving you lots of good reasons to get the PC version. They are all wonderful reasons IF you care about the extra graphics and difference in controls using a keyboard/mouse.

Ah, but the xbox is cheaper then a new computer no? Also if one had a xbox or PS3, then the example would fit.

Simply telling the truth....I have a PC that is quite a bit over the recomended specs and when I couldn't run the pathetic character creator I and all the others with the same problem(dozens) received no help or answers from BioWare....took me 5 hours to figure out what was wrong and get it running.
Now there are about hundreds of different problems reported with the PC version with a billion unique little problems from erased saves to not being able to access areas and a billion other little gamebreaking annoyances.
Do you know how many signifficant or even slightly anoying problems I encountered on a console? Exactly 0. Played through the game 5+ times and still playing.
If you dislike the simple truth fine by me but keep your insults to yourself.

I have a system that is a couple of years old but doesn't 'far surpass' the requirements at all and have had 0 problems. In fact, nobody I know in real life has had any issue with this game on PC. There are bound to be issues with any PC game because of the huge amount hardware variation. Tech support fact: The vast majority of 'bugs' end up being user error.
I'm not saing you didn't have issues with yur game, but hitting up every thread you see with 'This game sucks and is full of bugs' simply because YOU couldn't get it to work is straight-up trolling. You aren't bringing anything productive to the conversation when every post you make is "LAWL PC SUX' any more than the person who bashes consoles because they aren't a PC.

The example only fits if someone has an XBox or PS3 and doesn't have a PC. The OP obviously has a PC, as he mentioned it in his post.DaeFaron wrote...

A lot of weekends went by at me.
For console it is just "insert game and press start" and have fun. If a xbox is broken its definately broken
I dont know the PC-version of DAO, but I think both versions are good (I didnt say superb).

As a programmer who also has the unfortunate role of supporting her programs, I can verify this. And this is with computer engineers with masters degrees as my users. I can only imagine it's worse when the general public is your user base.Sloth Of Doom wrote...

I am getting rather tired just reading about dozens of game-breaking problems on PC....one guy deleted ONE single save and all his characters were erased.....game problem. The Character Creator uninstaller is broken and has a high chance to delete game files....game problem. Some cannot advance the game because the the transition area is broken....game problem. And there are A LOT more.....and I haven't even touched mod-created problems. Devs already said that the latest PC patch won't work with mods so that's likely to create a few problems.....and so on.....
It's not just me there are countless problems with the PC version and just because you've had good luck doesn't mean you have to go around insulting others for telling the simple plain truth.

Doesn't people normally have a computer anyway, to check mail, browse the internet etc? Doubting all the xbox peopel in this post are doing that from their xbox. So those who prefer console gaming has to buy both a pc and a console, while pure pc players can just get a better computer.sarahbau wrote...

If you upgrade your entire pc once it start being slow in games, then you might have to pay a lot, but often a simple graphic card upgrade will fix it. In the long run, I actually think pc gaming is a lot cheaper than consoles, since we pay so much less for the actual games.

Seriously though, what are you basing this on, I've seen neither of those errors, so stop with your doomsday talk about how the pc sucks compared to your beloved xbox.
