I purchased on of my games in 2003 that I still have the receipt for and the other copy was free with my video card. Both have different
legitimate cd-keys.
I finally got my husband interested in playing the game so i had a use for both copies. When i try to start a server it wants me to connect to the internet. It cant since our internet connection is too crap. Still seems to work but when trying to join the other computers server we get the error "Your CD key is already in use on that server".
We checked our keys in the nwncdkey.ini files and even uninstalled and re-installed our games.
Nothing seems to work.
Own both copies but still get "Your CD key is already in use on that server"

Hi, this is the forum for Neverwiter Nights 2, which wasn't released until 2006. Since you said you bought in 2003 you must be referring to Neverwinter Nights 1. They're forum is around here somewhere, but I'm on my phone and can't link it.

I haven't played online, only solo and on my network using multiple machines. I've found that all 3 keys (OC, MotB, and SoZ) have to be unique per machine for LAN play to work. You might try just having your husband join a game that you host and see if that works before trying to join an Internet server. Good luck.
