What it is:
The Platinum Difficulty mod offers players a tougher challenge than Gold. Without teamwork it is virtually impossible to beat the game. Most weapons and powers have been balanced to make all the classes and races viable. Overall it's a more balanced game mode than the unmodded version of the game is today - just 10-20 times harder than Gold. The mod is not released yet, as it still needs tweaking and testing, but we're getting close. Right now we're focusing on the Reaper faction. But we will continue to tweak and update the mod to include all the factions (Cerberus, Geth, Reapers). Each faction must be carefully tweaked in order to become stable and solid.

What it contains:
  • Tougher enemies: all enemy health/shield pools have been increased by ~50 %. Including trash mobs.
  • Higher wavebudget: resulting in more enemies per wave and per spawn point.
  • Power rebalancing: Almost every Power has been rebalanced, either buffed or nerfed. 
  • Combo unlocks: Fire Explosions and Cryo Explosions can occur not only when enemies die.
  • Weapon rebalancing: Overpowered weapons have been nerfed and less useful ones have been buffed.
  • Lower credit gain: Wave 3-6-9 rewards less credits than Gold, but there's credit gain for Extraction.

Full video showcasing an entire match is coming soon, both from my own, and korolen's point of view. In all honesty we haven't been able to beat Platinum, yet. The furthest we've come is Wave 10 on Glacier where we wiped 7 seconds into the Wave - and that's after playing the difficulty about ~30 times... and with Biotics, which are still very good after being nerfed substantially.

- We will release a full changelog when we release the first build of the mod.

We consider this cheating. Nothing will be done in this case as it's been a grey area for a while now but this is the first and final warning to everyone. If our stance on this changes in the future we will make everyone aware of it via a forum-type announcement.
