This has been bugging me forever.
On the Normandy, Anderson tells us by vidcom that the reapers are amassing in London, and that they are planning something big there. Now what exactly is he refering to? Our assault in London was a result of the reapers taking the Citadel, so neither the Reapers or Anderson could have known about that this early on.
Seriously, what was the big event in London? Does anyone know?

Anderson was talking about the camera crews shooting footage for the teaser trailer.

If only Anderson had been born on the Citadel. Then the Reapers would've focused on a place that made sense.

The Citadel was always going to be moved there. Since the collectors were destroyed, thats what they were using to reap the humans. That's about all I came come up with.

The beam. Obviously Reapers were planning to take over the Citadel (to use it to build new Human Reaper) even before they learnt that the Citadel is part of Crucible project that may destroy them. It is possible that the Cerberus/Udina coup was actually their first attempt to get get backthe Citadel

The olympics would be 2184 or 2188.

In London? Whatever happened to Shanghai and Tokyo? London has like 4 million inhabitants, Shanghai as 30 million.
