I'm not questioning the location of the final push, I'm wondering what this big event that Anderson talked about is supposed to have been.

I believe the big event in London was the reaper Shark-Jumping Contest, where the plot gets ahead of itself before essential events begin to happen.

So yeah, the construction of the beam conduit seems about right.

I think this content got cut. According to the Pat Weeks fan interview (I believe) there was suppose to be some content that showed the Human-Reaper development phases.

Doesn't matter. Reapers would've eventually attempt to retake the CItadel even if TIM didn't say anything. Collector Base is gone (either destroyed or stripped into pieces by TIM) so they need the Citadel to build new Human Reaper

Im actualy glad Bioware surprised us and didnt make a 253rd new york invasion or 532nd LA invasion  

Maybe the reapers thoguht it was central enough position to place their teleporter pad... so they could ship in meatbags from the rest of europe, africa, america and asia..... It must have made sense to them somehow.. Does it matter? Maybe they managed to capture more live prisoners in the london area than other places.

Shanghai might have been bombed since it was a major industrial center, London probably survived bombing and had some peopel to cull. We don't know that much about what hapend to different cities around the world.

Urhm, because there's a giant beam in London built to transport humans on the Citadel and they're building Human Reaper on the Citadel? I mean, it's all said in the game, did you miss it/forgot?

Without this vital information theres no need to move the citadel, and hence no need to build a giant teleporter on earth.

Maybe Anderson didn't actually know anything big was happening but suspected it, like Garrus did with Saren in ME1. The reapers amassing could have been an exaggeration on his part.
