So they made some money off mass effect? Big Deal it's not like it was unexpected considering alot of stores reduced the price of the thing. I'm sure they are concerned about the 400k TOR subscribers they lost which would of brought them more money in the long run than ME3 sales.
A loss is still a loss and considering the monthly rate + 400k subscribers it's ALOT of money and they will feel it.Father_Jerusalem wrote...

Still have 1.3 million subscribers and TOR just launched in 38 more countries - which aren't included in this report. Still has better subscriber retention that most other MMOs. I'm sure they'll be fine.

What people are forgetting is it wasn't ME3 that saved EA - it was Modern Warfare 3. If that hasn't come out when it did (Christmas), you can bet your bottom dollar they wouldn't be where they are now.

Not to mention that MW3 sucked just another victim of activision's rush programme.TullyAckland wrote...

Last I checked Modern Warfare wasn't in EA's portfolio. Or have I missed your point?

Yes but according to him they still have 1.3 million so who cares right? Losing 400k subscribers is a horrendous loss no matter how you try to spin it. I'm not the best when it comes to math but the monthly fee is about £8 and x that by 400,000 it comes to about 3.2 million so with 400k gone they lost an additional 3.2 million a month which could of been spent on developement.Izhalezan wrote...

Who said anything about killing bioware? It's nice to see you continue to put words into people's mouths and continue to so vigoriously defend bioware at any and all opportunities. Now go back and read my post i stated that 400k is a loss which it is and as for WoW yes they've suffered losses more recently a 100k subscriber loss and like here i stated it was still a loss.Father_Jerusalem wrote...

Launched in 38 countries that aren't included on this report is still a launched in 38 countries that aren't included on this report. Is losing 400k subscriptions not good? Of course. But by comparison, WoW has lost something like 2 million since their last expansion launched. It's going to take more than that to kill BioWare, so you'll just have to keep trying.

That is a very bad thing and a loss is still a loss.

No, please learn to read what I actually say and not what you think I said in order to push your own agenda, thanks.
400k is a loss, but it's not nearly as bad as you're trying to make it out to be. The game will be profitable at 500k subscribers. They currently have over twice that number. They also JUST launched in 38 new countries - which is not reflected in this report, which will easily make up that 400k number and then some. TOR is not sinking, it is not dying, no matter how hard you wish it to be true.
