However, once it was established in ME2, I sort of expected it in ME3, again, like Mordin's singing. Taking it out would make the character seem incomplete.

But even in ME3, it comes up at the most ridiculous times. My favourite was when she did a vid com at the Spectre office, where she got a shot even in hologram form. I thought that was hilarious, like the Devs were making a point of sneaking them on us in creative ways.

Yeah. That's kind of my feeling.

...all of that proves, that Bioware completly didn't realise how important Miranda is for fanbase. Kinda like they never fully understood what character they created. Yes, she was a kind of eye-candy ice-queen in ME2, but due to some great bits of writing, good direction for Yvonne Strahovski and great dossier in LotSB she turned out as Top 3 character in ME2 for many gamers. Just look at her topic in Character forum! She became so much more than "I'm cold, but I have problems, Shepard" and ass-shots...and yet that is exactly what we get in ME3. Not a single talk about her pregnancy problems (if you romance her). No dialogue after SHE KILLS HER FATHER. She can't join Shepard on Normandy, even as a Mordin/Wrex type of role in War Room.

Ass. Thats is all Bioware thinks we want from the character. Thats all we got.

Well, just ignore those creepy pervert teenagers. Thank god there is DLC armor pack for her to take it even little more seriously.

No need to attack Liara fans buddy. I'd say we all enjoy our LI's a normal amount it's just the annoying extremists that give fans a bad name....the only reason some peopl find the Tali fan's creepy is because of that one fan that made a doll....*shivers*....I damn sure slim to none of you are like that creeper

It was not attack, it was rather joke

I like Miranda's arse. I think it could make a fantastic drinking game: "drink with Miranda's arse". The rules are simple, every time you see Miranda's arse you drink.

Miranda and her catsuit makes me think of Seven of Nine from Star Trek Voyager. At first glance both characters seem like they are there just to look good, but they are both actually more interesting than most of the other characters.

What does bug me about Miranda is that she has a tendency to pose like she's a page 3 model.

Whether you like it or not, Miranda's ass is her trademark. As someone mentioned earlier, how could you NOT expect it to be in ME3?

They gave her a new armor in an appearance pack in ME2. It actually helped to take her more seriously. Why did they go back to the catsuit in ME3?

As I said, Trademark. That's the outfit everyone knows her in.

The appearance pack armor was hideous also.

I never even found Miranda's backside all that attractive, honestly. IMO, Kasumi and Tali have her beat.

as I female gamer I really tried to like Miranda because she's a strong female character in a video game, but the constant butt shots in her skin tight outfit made it hard for me to take her seriously. (It was not just Miranda though. Jack's strap bra/top did the same thing) Thankfully, I bought that DLC armor pack for ME2. when I did that I was able to see what so many of her fans saw in her and began to like her more as a character.
The butt shots really are a disservice to a good character.

Agreed. I always liked Miranda yet hated the default high-heels and catsuit they pasted on her. The DLC armor was a damn necessary upgrade. Maybe it's just me, but I think this real armor even solidifies the concept that she is capable of Shepard's role herself in an alternate timeline.

I thought there wouldn't be ass shots with her as a side character. Clearly, I was wrong. I love Miranda so much, and she's such a great character. But the way some devs treat her, her haters end up right about she being stereotypical.

Agreed. I would have been a little let down if Miri didn't have the occasional (blatant) ass shot in ME3. It's so in-your-face in 2 that it is almost required to reestablish itself this way.

SOON. I have another ME2 playthrough that I wanted to start, anyway.

Ass shots should not be part of any character unless that's ALL there is to them. Every emotional scene with her seems to be ruined by those stupid shots.

I guess my problem was that I never had to take her seriously in ME2 (I never had a Shepard that romanced her, nor did I feel the need to resent her personally because of TIM). In ME3 she kept showing up, sulking for five minutes, asking me for some weird indefinite future favor and then disappearing without ever telling me what it was.

I was excited about her appearance and intrigued that she showed up and she wasn't a bad guy. I do think it was ridiculous for her to wear that same white catsuit sans Cerberus logos, though- it was the only detail that they'd changed.

In the end, maybe it was all the ass shots that kept me from taking her seriously, and I would be weirded out with the prospect of having to have a really emotional scene with her without the comic relief. I don't really know and probably won't ever.

The catsuit and butt shots were one thing in ME2. I always read it along the lines of "I'm faking outward confidence" when combined with her other character traits. In private she is constantly obsessing about her own genetic construction, her father, whether she's as cool as Shepard. In public she's all business, badass and suave. So the catsuit made some sense to me in that context.

Which is all the more reason that I _really_ wish they would have killed it in ME3. That would have shown some character development right there. Not that you have to put her in a burlap sack or anything, but something that looks like reasonable street attire.

I liked the comparison to the ST: Voyager character Seven of Nine. In many ways Miranda is like Seven in that there are layers to the character that some see and others don't. Seven spent season after season learning who she was and I get the feeling that Miranda too is starting to discover herself beyond everything she was created to be.

As a female gamer, I found the butt shots a bit insulting to be honest. It's like okay I know there are more guys playing video games and BW is most likely trying to cater to them but way to go ruining a good character by over-sexualizing her. Add FemShep's ridiculous underwear too.

I can sort of buy the character justification that Miranda plays up all her genetically-perfected features to her advantage by wearing revealing clothing and turning men into puddles of drool, but... there is something not right with those arse shots. Fabric does not do that over a pair of buns, unless it's somehow, dunno, glued on the inside? We're having a serious conversation about genetic predestination and agency, and BAM! my screen is 75% arse and all I can think is, that must chafe so much.

Diana Allers' suction plastic top had a similar issue - good thing I never, ever talk to her, because all I can think is, if it's sticking like that, ma'am, I need to direct you to the communal showers asap.

EDI's juggernaut jugs had the same distracting effect - how does she not just topple over (given that she's also obviously on heels)? Does she keep emergency processors in there? Are they easily detached for servicing?

Bottom line: sexual objectification >> practicality, physics and believability. More than a third of ME players are women (as of here), but clearly the virtual sexual gratification of misogynist pricks should take priority.

Meh I'm a guy but also a bit of a femenist. Ass shots are insulting to both genders. Treating women as sexualised objects, treating men as sex driven adolescents.

I'm no way of a feminist (equal rights - okay - discriminating men - not okay), but the butt shots of Miranda simply feel inappropriate. Period.

I'm a dude, I enjoy checking out women. However, I don't do it ALL time. And when TALKING to a girl, I usually keep my eyes focused on her face. It's just a matter of respect.
