It started going downhill when the script to ME3 was leaked.
When did you think the game began going downhill?

I thought it was weak from the beginning. I remember when I played the demo thinking "well obviously it's not finished, it wont be like this." Because the lip synching was hilariously bad, you only got 2 dialogue choices instead of 6+ the intro was weak, boring, and pointless and the first playable sequence was the same. I felt no sense of urgency AT ALL. The reapers were just siting there in the distance and I didn't have to run from anything, there was no time limit. I sat there throwing warps and watching them sail all the way over and hit the reaper and just dicking around. There were of course parts of the game I thought were great but I could see ME3 wasn't living up to its' predecessors right away. T_T

While I do feel Mass Effect 3 was a great game I noticed problems right from the beginning. These problems continued throughout the game, which eventually ended with me feeling that Mass Effect 3 was the weakest of the trilogy.
