Though I liked that they're trying to fix the reapers' role by shooing the Leviathans into that characterisation of mystique and power, I hated the fact that they still tried to play clean up with the mess they wrote themselves into with the RGB.

you b*tch and moan the most about the writing. nobody cares.
It seems your statement is false, since I care. Ouch.
Then you are both pretty whiny and pathetic.

It's amazing that they went with something so nonsenical for Mass Effect too, especially given that it seemed doomed to fail from the start.
It still saddens me how much devastation that did to the Mass Effect franchise.

To me, it's not about happy or sad or bittersweet. Nor is it about a wide variety. I just wanted something that fit the atmosphere and structure of what Mass Effect had.
I think we all did, but people will always claim we were upset because we didn't get rainbows and ponies. *sigh*

Destroy is supporting Catalyst´s main issue and that´s the absurdity of co-existence betwen organics and synthetics, you are willing to sacrifice synthetics in order to defeat Reapers thru this choice you simply proving that synthetics have lesser value then organics in general, simply said you are proving Catalyst´s agenda - but only because it´s tailored in this way like Pyrrhic victory in OC.
As in Control I would say that Catalyst will be still alive but he took a dunno essence or whatever in order to finally understand what he should do long ago with his first programming, which is ironycal when he turned against own creators because he always failed in original programming.
And for synthesis, it´s far away from compromise - it´s desire of main antagonist - you simply rape both synthetics and organics under some weird assumption that they will stop killing each other, but why they would do that ? Or better questions is why we must pick this option when by Catalyst is it now inevitable ? IF synthesis is realy so called space magic without harm then this even wouldn´t harm relationship betwen all sides and you have still conflcits betwen all fractions, only thing which we can see is some green skined utopy galaxy with lot of hugs and love...
And well Refuse, it´s maybe moral victory but painful one...
maybe that's the whole point. We re gonna find a way ourselves to coexist with synthetic life. on our terms. in the future. We can always rebuild and remake synthetic life. Synthetic life anyway shares a common way of thinking eternally in the ME series (except the reapers).
Of course is a matrix dilemma (trilemma). The synthesis guy above must understand that this can be a face value interpretation as well (alhtough I still believe that neither synthesis or control will really happen in any mass effect future)

It seems the lesson to take away from here is that when you look to a movie for inspiration on how to end your game, make sure that it's a GOOD movie.

Still whiny pathetic people after 8 months. " Oh my god the writing was terrible!" Yeah, we know the writing wasn't all that great at some parts, but to endlessly drone on about it is asinine.

Don't you still believe that the ending is all a dream?
Think of the speculations! This is what they wanted!! Controversy. They took the Eric Bischoff route to stardom. The same route taken by so many great pioneers:
- Jersey Shore
- Paris Hilton
- Lindsey Lohan
- Honey Boo Boo
- LOST
I could go on, I think if one thing is absolute is that the more a product angers people the more popular it will become.

To be honest, as much as we all **** now, if they came out tomorrow with an EC that ran along these lines, with some big epic twist and shepard & crew standing against the reapers for a final battle, the fans would worship Bioware as gods.
They already came out with an EC
It expanded on the existing endings, nothing else. Why would they release another?

What they didn't want is idiots droning on and on about bad writing. Clearly there was good writing up until the end or you wouldn't have played the games, people. But whatever. I've made my point.

Keep on believing it's real. I'm sure Bioware's examples of ending games with a non-real ending and their history of trolling their players is irrelevant.
