How can I register my game?

At the peak of my desparation to talk about ME3 and kind of get consolation from other people who were pretty much devastated by it, I thought of buying a copy of ME3 for the pc that I can't even play just so I could register and get my feelings about ME3 out. I decided against it. Why throw more money at a game that made me feel so horrible? Now I'm just stuck in limbo making non-spoiler threads about femshep's ugly hair and commenting on threads about breast size and other unsatisfying things.

As a unconnected consoler, I'm in the same boat. Frankly, the notion that the non-spoiler forum is actually spoiler free any longer is laughable. We've just redefined what a spoiler is. I couldn't imagine someone who hadn't played ME3 coming onto this non-spoiler section hoping to get impressions and other traditional non-spoiler info, only to be inundated by threads that can't avoid revealing the ending. It just seems to be a dumb idea with unintended consequences.

I'm not sure how well that would work out. You have to go online with ME3 for the registration to work, but is that even possible if ME3 can't run on your PC? Anyway, I agree with you, I'm not going to buy another game that I won't be able to play until I can afford a gaming PC. ):Nefla wrote...

I can deal with being stuck in general discussion. It's frustrating though. It seems non-registered game owners have to make a choice between breaking the "no spoilers" rule or not talking about the majority of the game at all. (I've chosen the second option.)

If you are not synched correctly, please contact Customer Service for further assistance as mentioned in the link I provided above.
Chris,
I followed all of your links posted suggestions, spent several sessions in useless Chats with Eahelp, AND wasted my time with email interactions with Eahelp where they kept copping out and pushing back the solution time until they just stopped responding.... They either claim that my problem is unsolvable, or just cease responding... I've never been anything but polite, not that that helps.
My problem is: I share my PS3 with my Wife... She was playing Kingdoms of Amlaur, signing into a new Origin account for her first ever EA game, and even though I'd already signed into an EA Account (pre-Origin) through the PS3 before, when I started up ME3 I WAS NOT GIVEN THE OPTION OF WHICH ACCOUNT TO SIGN INTO.
So, I now have EVERYTHING except ME3 linked to my OLD EA Account / BSN Account (which became my Origin Account) and can't register my legitimate copy of the game. You say EAhelp can fix this, their response tells me they either cannot, or just aren't interested in helping...
Personally, I don't care if this new registration system was implemented as a form of DRM, or whatever, I am sick to death of the completely UNPROFESSIONAL response I've recieved from EAhelp AND EA/Bioware. Customers should NOT have to do the leg work to fix a problem that is on the Business end.
*Maybe put out an update for the game that allows the CHOICE of accounts at the beginning of the game... or switch back to the tried and true, NEVER FAILING, UPC entry method.

I loaded up my Origin, made sure that the Origin ID corresponds to the one shown on my user profile in BSN, and typed the serial code of Mass Effect 3 there. It still didn't work, and even though I waited for quite a long time, I still couldn't get it registered by clicking on the 'Click here to register your game'.
After I entered Mass Effect 3 once, though, it must have recognized that I actually own the game, since a lot of new information appeared on my Origin profile, and the next time I pressed 'Click here to register your game' I got the 'Game registered!' response.
My account was already merged, I received an e-mail from EA in september/2011 saying that from now on Origin were handling all account informations regarding EA games (I also have Spore in my ID).
Even then I can't register ME3 for using the restricted forums, wich is odd.
It's really frustrating.

Good Lord I think I was the only one, most of femShep's hair are ugly as hell.
They are shiny, no question about that, but crap.
The ponytail in ME2 was really improved for example, but the new one with those "pieces" falling apart is sh*t!

I am so fed up with this whole crappy experience. Bioware has a lot of work to do before I will even consider anything from them at all redeeming and worthwhile. In my oppinion, Bioware has sullied and tarnished an otherwise stelllar franchise with the release of ME3

ME2 still uses UPC Code entry... try that. I registered a copy for PS3 about a month and a half ago without any issues.

I made an EA account way back on Dec. 31, 2007 to contact EA about replacing the guitar controller from the Rock Band set I'd gotten for Christmas. That whole situation pretty much went nowhere, and eventually I just forgot the account even existed since I never used it for anything. Then in 2009 I ended up making a second account for Battlefied 1943 stats tracking or something, and linked my gamertag to it. Shortly afterwards, I stumbled upon my first account, and later when asked to make an Origin account used the first EA account as the basis.
The problem is that the EA/Origin account that my BSN account is connected to doesn't have my gamertag linked to it. So I went to try and contact EA Help for assistence in deleting the second account or just re-linking my gamertag to the Origin/BSN one or whatever, but no matter what account I log in with, their Contact Us page is useless to me. The options to phone, chat with, or e-mail them are completely greyed out, and I can't click any of them.
So here I am, stuck in the undesirable position of being unable to join in with conversations regarding spoilers such as the ending, certain characterss involvements in the plot, etc.

My situation is similar but not exactly the same. Has the same effect though:
For a long time I never even had a way to sign onto the internet with my xbox and I just played SP games with no DLC and was perfectly happy. Then my cousin decided to introduce me to the joys of DLC because he knew how much I liked DA:O and a DLC for it had just come out. So I was hanging out on my laptop not really paying attention while he was setting up a free xbox live account for me (all I ever do is get DLC, no multiplayer so it was all fine and dandy) I wasn't really paying attention to what he was doing but when he was done I could now download DLC for my games and I went on my merry way for the next few years buying many DLCs for many games and never giving the account another thought.
Fast forward to 2 months ago when BioWare decides to change how games are registered on the BSN and then lock everyone out of most of the ME3 subforums if you don't register your game. I tried every suggestion posted on the BSN I frantically searched obscure sites all over the web looking for an answer (and in the process contracted a virus which irreparably fried my laptop) but found nothing. I emailed EA back and fourth for about a week going in circles and always ending up with either "do ___ thing" that I had already tried and told them didn't work or "sorry we can't help you" or the ever popular dead silence.
I tried calling EA and asking them to link my gamertag to my EA account and they told me that my gamertag was owned by a hotmail account (I have never had a hotmail account) and without that email they couldn't help me. Well I tried going through my console profile and whatnot and didn't see a hotmail address listed anywhere. It was only when I randomly loaded DA2 that a little message popped up (one that I had never seen before while playing DA2 or any game) that said something about the hotmail account. It turns out my cousin who had set up the xbox live account for me years ago used HIS OWN email address to register my gamertag so he owns it.
With this new information I called EA again and told them what had happened and that if they called or emailed my cousin he could confirm that the gamertag belonged to me. The guy told me the only way to link my accounts had a 90% chance of breaking both my gamertag and his (and he has a way higher gamerscore than I do) taking away all our achievements AND DLC making us have to re-buy every single one and there's nothing EA could do to fix it.
So here I am. Instead of being able to post an extremely long and detailed review in the feedback thread like I did with DA2 and really wanted to do with ME3 I am stuck here commenting on Diana Aller's "assets" or pondering whether or not Kaidan was a virgin in ME1. No discussions with substance for me, no sharing my thoughts on any of the main quests or the ending, that would be spoiling,

If BioWare responds to this thread again, it will either be:
A) To lock it down saying the question has been answered (which it hasn't)

If they are, they're not showing it. I personally wouldn't be surprised with the sheer complexity of the actual process of registering your game and then the many errors that one might get while doing so. There really should be a better guideline, and the FAQ didn't help me much.

I wonder if BioWare is honestly surprised by the number of people who have this problem. As far as I can tell, the majority have issues with their online accounts, linking it to BSN, etc... the sort of thing can be unexpected and complex. My problem is very simple to understand in comparison, and that's not having an online account connected to the game or Xbox at all. And that makes me curious if they just didn't think there would be many people now who don't use online features with their games, even as a one-time "download and register" thing.

If Bioware had bothered to code an account SELECTION choice at the beginning of the game, rather than auto-loading whatever account was used last, this entire problem could have been avoided.

For those who use an online account with the game, maybe. But not for people like me who don't have an online connection to their consoles. The "online account used to play the game" that BSN needs from me does not exist.KingJason13 wrote...
