Yep , I have absolutely no idea how to prove i have ME3 for xbox and its pretty rage inducing. I don't understand why you would lock out people who didn't have the game from the dtscussion. Its just mean. :P

It's really not hard. Go to your profile, click on games and the option to register pops up. Magical huh?

Don't you think some of us have tried to register our games...if it was that simple, we wouldn't be in this problem ****?

And there is the problem.

EDIT: You sound just like EA/Bioware.

I don't think you understand the problem. Some people can't link their online accounts to BSN, and some (like myself) don't use an online connection with the game at all - and this is required for registration. People with this problem are given no option to enter the game code, as clicking on "Register Game" gives this message:

"Your ownership of Mass Effect 3 was not detected. You are most likely logged in to the BioWare Social Network with a different account than the one you are using to play Mass Effect 3."

In my case, I'm not using an online account to play the game (no Xbox Live), so what BSN is asking for here does not exist.

Bumps 'cuz this needs to be recitified...

I just had a thought a few minutes ago. And I need to put this as delicately as possible since I just got let back into this forum after being banned and I don't want to appear combative.

Here goes:

I purchased the Collector's Edition of ME3 with the understanding that the extra money I paid would give me extra goodies. One of those goodies was a downloadable soundtrack. But because I cannot (the main thrust of this thread) register my game, I have been denied a product for which I have paid. Now, if I was to buy somethig from a store and then found out that the product was incomplete, I would get my money back or a no charge replacement of said product. But because of this inane registration process, I cannot get my money back nor can I get a no charge replacenment. In fact if I was to follow the convoluted steps proposed, which may not work at all, I just might loose other items of the package I paid for and nothing could be done about it.

So, without being accusatory or having any forethought of malice, I ponder...to my recent thought...that could this be considered theft of my money?

Simply put, Bioware promised me a product but did not deliver and will not compensate.

Yes, I risk being banned again for what might be considerd inflamatory comments, but that is not my intention. I really want to know what is being done to solve this problem so that I don't have to be angrier.

same problem
I've been posting about it every week since the game came out (mainly in the site help board) and Bioware just ignore me....
sob, sob...they don't love me...:crying:

I'm curious as to which hardware platforms people are using, as I have read several posts and and few, if any, even mentions this.

Theoretically, as long as the game itself is properly registered so that you can play it, you should be able to register it in the forums, providing that the e-mail address used to register the game and the e-mail address used for your BSN accounts are the same (at least that is the way it works with Origin for PC users).

Both myself and "the Sarendoctrinator" are on X360 without an internet connection so not connected to Xbox live

I am on PC and repeated the pattern described in the FAQ many times and the registration process still wouldn't work. I still got the same error over and over again. I could only register later on by pure chance a few days after, I am still unsure as to how it exactly happened.

Reading isn't that hard either. I suggest you go back and read some of the replies.

When some people click on that option they get an error message. Their origin/EA account is either not recognizing their Live account or their registered game.

In my case I think there might be an issue with email addresses.

I changed the email address associated with my Xbox live account. It is now the email address associated with my origin account, but it wasn't originally. Somewhere along the line in the registration process I think the old email address is still being incorrectly regonized, whether the issue is with Xbox Live or Origin.

Or at least that is the only thing I could come up with on why Origin isn't recognizing that I have an Xbox Live account registered to the same email address.

I hate the current trend of "social gaming". You can't do **** without creating an account first. Games prevent you from accessing (and playing) a legally bought copy.

You know what? I don't care about accounts, e-mails, support services, passwords, needing to memorize a ton of passwords for each game and I'm tired of this problem ever since I got the game, for two freaking months! That "instructions" page is nothing but a maze as the OP said, there are so many sub-sections and so many instructions that you get lost after some point. I have no idea what my problem is, it just doesn't detect my copy somehow.

It would be logical to put a manual login page to the game where we can actually enter our account info before playing the game, but no, why do something straightforward and sensible like that? Let the damn thing detect my account on its own, and god forbid if it somehow locks me to an account that I created months earlier, and in the midst of thousands of account info I have to memorize for each freaking game I buy, eventually forgotten the info for. Now I can't even register the game I bought legally, and I'm prevented from accessing to some parts of this forum.

I hate this account business so much.

As I posted before, I am on the xbox360 and I can't register due to a problem with an email address. Why change registration? Being able to type your registration code in manually was perfect.

I didn't do anything, I just pressed "register game" like I have many times before and instead of saying "ownership can't be detected" or whatever it usually said it just registered the game. I haven't done anything new since the last time I clicked register so I don't understand. Image IPB

As someone who has yet to play the game, I must say I'm rather worried about this considering the number of people who seem to have the issue.

I only want to know: upon starting the game for the first time, when you get to the main menu, are you prompted to enter an email address and password or does the game automatically sign you in? If it's the latter, then that's worrisome and I will wager it is the reason so many people are having this problem.

The thing is I changed the email address associated with my gamertag two months ago, so I don't know if ME3 is going to detect that new email address or my old one (which is what I use for EA and Origin stuff, such as this forum - it is also the account to which my GT is linked). I fear it might detect the new one and the game becomes locked to that email address, effectively creating a new EA account.

If anyone can fill me in, that'd be most appreciated.
