Do you think they'll make another ME?

Do you think mass effect 4 will happen?
Halo 3 was supposedly the end of the halo trilogy. This is it, finish the fight, yeah! was their slogan. It was sold as the end of the trilogy. the war ended but the story didn't, and now halo 4 is commin.
Mayhaps they've pulled a halo and have every intention of continuing the story in a full game.

Prequels are not out of the question, though. In fact, I'm pretty sure that, if it hasn't begun already, they will have started development of a prequel game. Shanxi? Krogran Rebellions? Turian Unification War? No way to tell. But I would bet any amount of money on a prequel being released in the not too distant future.

But it's been established many times that this game is the end of Shepard's story. Whether they'll stick to that or not...who knows.

Unless they completely retcon the ending it will be very difficult to pull off. As of a few days ago, Jennifer Hale STILL had not been contacted, so its pretty safe to assume starbrat is going to be in EC which means GG trilogy.
You know some people did claim BioWare basically "torched the franchise and ran," so it would be very difficult for anyone (be it themselves or someone else) to make another one. And when you look it how difficult a sequel would be given the events of the ending, it's not hard to see why they support that theory.
However there will be another Mass Effect game. EA won't stop making them until they stop making money. And if BioWare doesn't want to make another one, they'll just get someone else who will.

Better for them to just start on a new franchise.

In my opinion if I was EA I'd have told Hudson to do 2 things with ME3:
1 - Don't screw it up
2 - End ME3 so we can have a ME4 and MOAR monies!

EA doesn't care about quality.
They care about quantity and microtransactions.

It's as clear as the light of day, EA have succesfully created a videogame behemoth that has shifted milions of games, books, comics, action figures and soon will make its way to the silver screen. Asking if there'll be a new ME is like asking if there'll be a new Mario, Resident Evil or Street Fighter.
The only question is: what will it be? If EA don't want to deplete the franchise, they'll need to make "real" Mass Effect games from time to time. EA will make spinoffs and they will be loved. But they'll need to make ME1-3 style games from time to time. They can't just make MMO's, FPS's or Kart-racers.
Just like Nintendo can't just make Mario Party, Mario Kart and Mario Strikers. Despite those games being profitable, if they'd choose not to make real Mario platformers from time to time, Mario would be dead by now.

Guarantee they will. People will buy it simply because the title is Mass Effect, and they'll ride that cash cow until it goes the way of has-been games of years past.
After 3 the mass effect series no longer gets an auto buy from me. Shall wait for user feedback from now on with Bioware games.

It's "confirmed" that Casey Hudson has no intention of making a game that takes place after ME3.Eire Icon wrote...

It's not an actual confirmation that there's a new ME game in the works. And it's in no way a confirmation that EA will allow BW to finish Shepard off this way.
