It's a decent weapon though it's single slug really means your more effective withGPS/Graal/Claymore for a shotgun and if your sniping with it I'd recommendn just using the Javelin/Valiant/Widow/Black Widow

True, but it does have the advantage in that you maintain situational awareness due to no zoom in. Basically if you ever wished you could no-scope your BW without losing damage, use the Crusader.

CLEARLY if you see a weapon labeled as a shotgun, that looks like a shotgun, and is classified as a shotgun, and don't immediately pick up the fact that it must be used in a completely different way, you're an idiot!

Clearly!

Let me rephrase Only a complete idiot who has used the weapon atleast once, treats it as a shotgun. because for all intents and purposes it is not a shotgun.

A.) it shoots out single slugs instead of scatter shot
B.) it is pinpoint accurate, even the reticule is that of a rifle.
C.) it acts like a rifle for all intents and purposes.

I am using crusader just because of this :P i like the sabre and all, but its so damn inaccurate compared to crusader without a scope mod, and i want a highpowered rifle, with no scope :) i like to see my surroundings.

I use the Elephant Gun (aka the Crusader) with soldiers and occasionally with infiltrators. It's a slug shotgun with some great benefits, but it's certainly not as "oopsie friendly" as most shotguns are.

That and it's just so heavy. Even with a Crusader III the weight still makes me back off of it.

Get a graal with a smart choke. It's a sniper shotty that's SIGNIFICANTLY more powerful than the crusader. Plus, it's loads lighter.

Except for the graal shot to be more powerfull, you need to charge it up, without the charge it does only 60% of the damage the damage bar tells you ;) + Graal has no penetration and does not benefit from penetration mods, Hence graal sucks, just like GPS. only thing they got going for them is the long range. hell not even that all the time, i kill stuff with diciple/evi X with choke and penetration with my turian soldier from snipe ranges from behind cover. Do that with your graal and gps ^_ ^

I use it on my Batarian soldier. It is the perfect gun because you can use it at extreme ranges and medium range, then if enemies get too close, you punch them. When you can do 2,600 damage with a single Falcon Punch, even big enemies are punchable. Even the regular melee benefits from the 160% melee damage you get from fitness, Blade Armor, and the shotgun blade.

Graal staggers enemies and is easy to get headshots with. It certainly doesn't suck.

How do you use it? Just playing around with it I noticed a fast reload with a four round clip. Damage seems a little weak for an ultra rare.

All of the N7-N7s (ie not blacks) are junk except the SMG and Valiant, and that includes the crusader.

The N7 Crusader is a scopeless sniper rifle in the packaging of a Shot gun.

It has 0 bullet spread making it accurate at all ranges.
Fires one projectile rather than several pellets so damage is always consistant
It has built in cover penetration, not much, but enough to get through guardian sheilds and thin waist high walls.
4 shot clip, decent spare shot ammo and quick reload time.

In case you haven't read the other replies, it can penetrate through surfaces. That's handy.

I personally hate my Crusader II. Too heavy to be effective. It needs to weigh the same as the GPS and Graal, and ignore shield-gate. THEN WE'LL HAVE A WEAPON.

(Of course, the Kishock already has the same weight as the GPS and Graal, and ignores shield gate, while doing a ton more damage than the Crusader...)

The crusader has perfect hipfire accuracy, making it good for shotgun purposes, and rifle purposes. It really just needs +40% stability and less weight. If we wanted to keep the weight the same.... More stability and a small amount of shot to compensate for the over-accuracy of the slug would be the way to go.

So its a prefect weapon....

But you want it to be less accurate and have a shot pattern like other guns thus removing all of its key features and turning it into a useless weapon?

No, the slug would be totally accurate, and it would use its current reticule, The shot would just improve its anti group, and close quarters abilities. As well as make less than perfect shots less devistating to the player.

Word of warning.

Never put the Smart Choke mod on the Crusader, friend of mine did that the first time he used it and said he didnt like the gun, talked him into trying it again with out the mod and his opinion changed. Turned out that added the Smart Choke made it less accurate, for that reason I wouldn't put the Crusader in the hands of a Turian either, due to their passive racial accuracy buffs.

Personally I pair it with the Rev. on a Human soldier if im not using C.S. or with a SMG if I am using it.

I used to use it on QI all the time for some reason, since I didnt use sniper rifles. But I have the Javelin now and I prefer that over Crusader.

It's very good against grunt units though, troopers, cannibals, etc. guaranteed 2 shot kill if not 1 shot to the head.

I think I'm using it on one of my krogan classes, since it reloads faster on a krogan

I use it as a Batarian soldier. Ballistic blades overcome its shortcomings, and the twos stagger rates make everything struggle. Still, a single context in which it is good just not justify the weight.
The Carnifex trivializes that.

Turian soldier spec'ed for stability, damage, and headshot damage is pretty effective with this. Just make sure to go for headshots against grunts, and for the bigger enemies I personally just hit marksman and put as many slugs downrange as I can

I know the words you are using but the way you are stringing them together... they make little sense to me.

You cant have a weapon that is firing a slug also fire shot at the same time for both total accurate shooting and anti group abilities

There is no game mechanic that would let you switch between slugs and shot on the fly on weapons, the closest shotgun weapon that comes to what it seems like you are saying is the Geth Plasma Shotgun

You can get headshots with anygun that doesnt do an AoE if you know how. and sadly yes. it does suck, even if it staggers. if i want a gun that staggers i use diciple as it does slightly more damage per shot(when compared to non charged graal shot) weighs less and fires slightly faster :) also it has more ammo :P

So yeah only thing graal and GPS have going for them is the range, thats it. but when you throw in crusader, not even range ^^

sorry, but that is BS. i use the choke mod V on it allways and it is significantly more accurate, been using crusader since op. goliath com. packs came. Your friend propably just sucks so much that he cant aim where the reticule is :D

I use a Disciple X on my Asari Vanguard and it doesn't do nearly as much damage as my Graal VI, nor is it as accurate, nor does it stun as reliably.

Graal keeps haters locked down all day. Live it. Love it. :kissing:

Just means you suck wiht diciple xD i cant remember diciple letting me down ever :) and yeah, sure you get more damage with graal if you use charge shot, but if you dont charge it, the damage output is same as diciple or less. (and you know what happens to stagger when you dont charge)
