Bar wise the Wraith 3 looks better than the Claymore 10. I am gonna field test it but in your opinoin Is it?

Note that if you put Shredder + Damage on the Wraith and Shredder + Choke on the Claymore you get:

- Slightly (but almost the same) damage on the Wraith.
- Same Accuracy on the Wraith compared to the Claymore with the Smart Choke.
- 2 shots and faster reload times on the wraith vs 1 shot and slower reload on the claymore.
- Weight is infinitely better with the Wraith

So far I got a feeling that once I get to Wraith IV I'm gonna retire my trusted Claymore X.

Dunno about that. But are the damage bars accurate ? I'd have the same question concerning The Mantis VIII and the Widow I I just got :D

Claymore is stronger than my wraith 8. Even without reload canceling, claymore still is light years better than the wraith.

Don't go by the bars in game as it isn't accurate in the slightest. Bioware should just replace all those useless bars with actual in game numbers. But for them to do anything like that would be too much work....

I have a Wraith III and a Claymore X, and I vastly prefer the Claymore. I tried out the Wraith since its stats bars looked good, but... it's strange... I felt so... slow? Not sure how to put it, but I just prefer the "feel" of the Claymore. :-/

Depends on your play style. If you need to be using your powers a lot, then I certainly would go for the Wraith. I can't believe all the hate that gun is getting on these forums.

I only have a Wraith I, but it seems like my Claymore X is more consistent when it comes to damage. Hard to pinpoint what the problem is, but if I'm 5-ft from an enemy, I know how much damage I'm going to cause with my Claymore in their face. But with the Wraith I, it can be all over the place---sometimes, it will devastate them, but at other times, it feels like a weak Katana. Maybe the spread of the weapon is funky.

Adrenaline Rush makes it hard to pass on the Claymore. 2 consecutive shots with the 2nd being +70% dmg means that only special units (Primes, Atlas, etc.) will survive. I tried that with my Wraith I and all 4 shots couldn't consistenly drop a Pyro on Gold.

use the stats found here:
https://docs.google....bWc&output=html
(Sorry I can't use the url thingies at all :()
Claymore 1 does 1342.4 damage at level 1.
The DPS of the wraith at 10 is 817.92.
Math is irrelephant?
DO NOT TRUST THE BARS. According to them, the GPR can actually be useful past silver... If it can, I have yet to see it.

When I unlocked the wraith I was thrilled and then I played with it. I would definetly say the claymore is better and if you get lucky enough to unlock the n7 crusader its the ultimate shotgun in my opinion. Like the claymore with insane accuarcy and better firing rate. The wraith to me felt so weak every time i used it. I was only doing gold runs so maybe its good on the lower difficulties but I was angry it was even considered an ultra rare. I will give it another try but doubt the outcome will be any different.

Wraith is usable on classes which do considerable AoE damage via abilities. Ballistic blades, Proximity mine etc. Shortening the pause between the shots considerably would make it on par or even better than the Claymore. It's a good weapon, just worse then the best one.

Tbh it's a pretty goood weapon on classes that use powers a lot and just shoot a bit while the powers cool down vs reapers and geth if you have it at a decent level. I was using a wraith 6 on a justicar vs hold reapers eralier a few games, worked fine.

Against cerberus phantoms will own you unless you have powers to deal with them if you're using a wraith.

I know the bars are inaccurate but still they made me curious, I wonder that a well placed headshot with my wraith can kill just the same as one with my claymore? I could feel the in-game difference against Primes/Banshees on Gold, with the Wraith it takes a coupla well placed shots more than with the Claymore; I was just wondering if, like it happened with my Carnifex X, it will come a time when I'll drop my Gold X for a N7 (I am currently using the Paladin VI instead of the Carni).

Since the damage was raised, the Wraith is a beast. It is the black widow of shotguns and devastating in the hands of an infiltrator. The Claymore is a monster, but very often it is overkill. The Wraith's 2 rounds and quick reload let you cut through lesser enemies like a scythe while it's two shots in quick succession still punish tougher enemies.

Perhaps it is not the best option for all classes, but on a CQC GI, you'll be hard pressed to find a better weapon.

Nor can I tbh, I absolutely love it on my Batarian Soldier.

The Widow has embedded armor piercing; also we are comparing a blue weapon with a gold one, in that case I think I'd go Widow, besides you don't really need weight when playing Infiltrator.

The wraith isn't a horrible gun, but it's 2 shots hardly fire in quick succession. You can reload cancel and fire the claymore again in just about the same amount of time you fire the wraith's 2 shots. Overkill is only an issue at close range really. The massive damage makes it more consistent at killing enemies from mid to long range than the wraith. The wraith is much lighter ofcourse, and as someone else said you can fire, use a power, then fire again, So it has it's uses.

Smart choke (+accuracy bonus from Hunter mode btw) organizes the pellet spread into an X, allowing more pellets on target.

So if you're more of a mid range shotgun shooter, I think you'll get more damage with the choke vs the barrel right?

And btw, the 2 second window after cloak wears off applies to the second successive shot from a Wraith so keep that mind along with it's weight reduction. DPS from mines from a quicker cooling down cloak shines too.

If the Wraith gets a RoF increase then it would function similarly to how Black Widow does for the Widow, being a multiple shot version of the Claymore, thus allowing you the option to not waste a single very powerful shot on a trash enemy. While it's not a bad gun, it's just mostly lacking a place, as you can fire 2 Claymore shots in roughly the time it takes to fire 2 Wraith shots. At this point unless you're build just wants a lighter gun, with decent stopping power you're more than likely better off using the Claymore.

Pssh, I'm N7 rank 500 and I STILL don't have the Claymore OR the Wraith and I just played with an N7 50 who had a Wraith II. Really makes you frustrated with the store system after seeing that.

no... Wraith is good. It fares well on gold especially with damage bonus from cloak on an infiltrator....
Claymore delivers more damage per shot but its reload is slower than the wraith.

Wraith holds 2 shots before reloading, much lighter than Claymore and it is highly accurate, at medium range it can kill phantoms with a single headshot with cloak on Silver (even on Gold if aimed precisely with the Phantom's head in the middle of the crosshair), though this applies to Claymore as well.

I'd say Wraith is underated and Claymore is overated.

don't get me wrong, Claymore is one of the best weapon out there in the right hands (Vanguards, etc).
But given the following where people just says other shotguns are awful because they can't kill tougher enemies (Phantoms, Centurion, etc) in one hit, just isn't fair.

Getting to the tpoic though, no. Wraith III is NOT better than Claymore X.
Wraith VII is about on par with Claymore in terms of damage output and usability.

Wraith X and Claymore X on the other hand..... I'd keep my mouth shut cause Claymore fanboys are gonna start yelling things at me to "get my facts right" etc.

Personal preference, Wraith X on bigger maps (Hydra, Dagger, Ghost & Giant) due to it delivering more damage at range with less difficulty.
In "tight" map (White, Glacier, Reactor & Condor), Claymore all the way.
