What comes next is you rushing to obtain DA3 Collectors Edition - Platinum. lol.

You're an assumed asset. Bioware knows this.....

Oddly, this is what I was thinking. EA has just learned that they can pretty much do as they want now with impunity from "fans". It's an elevation of the most egregious nature to gamers everywhere.

200 Million ........

I am crying right now. :crying:

On the one hand, yeah.
On the other, this does represent sales from people who bought this not expecting the ending we got.
This might not be representative of BioWare's next game, and I think retake has rocked the boat enough to get the attention of EA's investors, and their concerns are probably what's driving the EC (what, you think they're doing it out of the kindness of their hearts?).

Brand recognition is very important, and I'm sure EA has realised that BioWare had just shot their own brand in their foot, run it over with a steamroller, shot that steamroller with a torpedo and then dropped a nuclear bomb on it. The great impact of this all remains to be seen.

And how much of that 200 million was earned through preorders generated by goodwill garnered through the previous two games quality. Not to mention pre release hype and exaggerated promises.

It would be interesting to see how much ME3 has generated excluding these sales.

This proves nothing though.

A lot of people bought the game. That was pretty much a given for this game. I'm not shocked at all by this. The poor quality of this game would be reflected on DLC sales. If people dislike the game, it doesn't matter; EA and Bioware got their money already. However, they won't get more from DLC.

It'll be interesting what happens when the first paid DLC comes out. Also, how much it costs is a major factor too. If it's 540 points, I can see it selling better than a DLC costing 800 or more points, even by those who dislike the ending.

Nonsense, I say.  If they had done a super job with the ending and Priority: Earth then they'd've made $250 million*.  They'd've been able to charge money for Resurgence, the true for profit DLC would be on its way, and we'd be singing the praises of BioWare and encouraging everyone to go and buy Mass Effect stuff.  It'd be an even bigger cash cow than it is now and they know it.

As it is, I'm glad Mass Effect 3 is doing as well as it is because that makes it worth fixing.  If the game were doing poorly EA could simply cut its losses and move along.  Instead, they've got a nice cash cow to feed and nurture.

*Yes, I'm pulling that number out of my hind quarters, but you get my drift.

Again you're an assumed asset. Similarly to how a dedicated Christian finds out there beliefs are filled with bigotry and hypocrisies....

Yet...

...They ignore this information and insight and continue to be flocked like herded sheep.

You'll be back for the next triple-AAA title, and Biowares knows this....

$200 million does, not, lie. Checkmate.

People need to learn the difference between "sales" and "revenue."

EA is bleeding money right now.

It's funny, because you don't understand how stock and revenue gain works.

I'll take that as a compliment.

But seriously, there's a difference between laughing at a dude getting his leg broken, and laughing at a dude who quit gaming because an ending made him sad.

The former is sad, and the latter is just hilarious.

I grant you as someone who bought both ME1 and ME2 I was an assumed asset for ME3 on Bioware's part due to the high standard of the previous two games. It was this same high standard that led me to assume that ME3 would be of equal or higher quality and thus worth pre-ordering. That is how a trust based relationship with a business works.

What has happened now is that they have lost my trust and as such I am not a guaranteed asset for any future purchases. Last time I checked it is I and not Bioware that dictates where I spend my money in the future.

To re-iterate. They lost twice as much as they gained from ME3.

Funnily enough this statement is bigotted in and of itself, and is therefore hypocritical.

I don't know why I am even bothering but I am a Star Wars, KotOR and quickly becoming an ex-Bioware fan and am naturally an assumed "asset" for ToR. To a point they were right, I bought the game, but Iet the subscription expire after 3 months and barely playing it at all. Sure they got my money, but do you think I'll be going back for the inevetible expansion? If you and Bioware assume I am you should check out what assuming such things does.

After ToR and DA2, MA3 was Bioware's last chance. They failed, and I am just one of thousands perhaps hundred of thousands who feel exactly the same way. There will be a lot of people not buying DA3 simply because it is Bioware/EA and the assumption of getting a quality game is gone.

If you want a real checkmate, look at ME3's sales figures over time. They are sinking like a stone, that $200 is off of initial sales.

Wait, what?!

I've been aware that  you were a known troll on these forums for a while, but your seriously trying to outdo yourself.   You start with a completely misguided view of how businesses, sales, and ROI factor into overall profitability; but in defending your erroneus claim, you decide to throw religion under the bus??  Really?

I'm going to have to interrupt here and defend MintyCool's artistic integrity.  Proving how much of a religious bigot you are by prejudicailly stereotyping 1/3 of the planet as bigots is a level of irony even Shakespeare never dared attempt.  Brava!
