Almost two weeks have passed since I first posted this. I would really like to think you care more for your customers than this. You've sold us a broken product Bioware, now fix it.

This hasn't happened to me before, and I'm not a technical expert by any means, but I can understand how upset you can be about this (it's happened to me in other games and is really upsetting and deserving of some language that is banned on these forums lol). Some things I may suggest - again, I'm not an expert, but still, I'd like to help or at least bump:

1. Is it possible for you guys to play on the same internet connection (e.g. laptops)?
2. Are you guys very far geographically that it's hard to get a good connection?
3. Do you make the game "private" versus "public"? If you do that, you could start a game with less than 4 people and have the rest join mid-game (read: mid wave 1); I've had easier experiences connecting mid-game and getting people to join me mid-game for some reason
4. Rotate hosts - maybe someone is a better host

You've probably tried all of the above, but still wanted to try to help. I understand again how incredibly upsetting this can be, especially since ME3 multiplayer is so team-oriented that it's awesome to play with friends. It's disappointing that an official hasn't responded to you yet.

Good luck. And bump for justice.

adding voice to this. I have never been able to connect to MP with other players. always getting the joining or connecting loop. I can play the MP but only with myself :P Would love to be able to play in a group. Have also tried opening ports/routers/ etc. and no joy. Would be nice to see this addressed.

We've had this problem since the game launched! Every now and then we will menage to start a game together but most of the time it doesn't work. And it is NOT a matter of freeing up ports or whatever, we've tried that one.

Thanks for the reply JShepppp, at least you're trying to help out here.

1. Unfortunately it's not possible to get it working unless I start hosting LANs at my place, which isn't going to happen too often, even with my local friends.
2. Some, yes, others no. I try to play with people all over the world, from the US, Canada, Norway, Sweden, Italy, New Zealand and several other European countries. It's completely random who I can play with or not.
3. Tried this, and it didn't work out unfortunately.
4. Also tried, in every possible combination out there.

For the past month or so I too was having the problem of hanging on connecting, when trying to join a random match or create a match myself.  I think I might have a solution for you (at least it has worked for me the last 3 days 100 percent).  This is what I do when I want to play MP.
First, I launch Origin and ME3 like normal.  Next, I wait for it to check my DLCs and such.  Then, I CTRL+ALT+DEL and bring up Task Manager.  Finally, I go to the Processes tab- Select MassEffect3.exe- Right Click it and set Priority from Normal to Above Normal.  I then exit Task Manager and go back to Mass Effect 3.  When you select Multiplayer and either Quick Match or Create a Match it should load up fine and not hang at Connecting.
Like I said this has work for me several days now with no issue.  Maybe it will be the same for you.  :)

I just hit cancel after 10 secs of searching and then start again. If I allow it to search longer than that it will just stop communicating and then game freeze. There is also the problem of crashing in the lobby too which I don't have the energy to go into.

Adding my 2 cents in on this.

I'm getting increasingly frustrated at the fact that I can't play a full game with one of my friends. If I host, he gets kicked halfway through. If he host, I get kicked. If a third party hosts, either one of us gets kicked, usually him.

I've tried everything. Ports, work arounds blah blah blah.. but nothing.. NOTHING has worked. If we're lucky enough to complete a full game all together, (which has happened maybe 3 or 4 times since the game was released) then one of us will be dc'd soon after.

All these workarounds work for some, and they're the lucky ones. But it's getting fricking ridiculous. We shouldn't have to go into our task manager and mess with stuff. We shouldn't have to join our friends mid game so we can get in a few minutes of play with them. We shouldn't have to bombard these forums with thread after thread of pleas and 'help wanted' topics.

As paying customers, we shouldn't have to do the work for you rEApers/Bioware! Fix your damn broken game and sort out your crap!

Thing have taken a turn for the worse over the past few days. I can barely finish a game before I get disconnected now, finding games is nearly impossible and when I do find one I get disconnected before the game even starts.

This is ridiculous.

Just a small update.

I have a ticket with support running, hopefully they'll come up with something. They're being unbelievably slow to reply though, taking up to 5 days to reply to my case between each reply I send. Rather annoying when they first tell me to do one thing, then later tell me that what they just told me wasn't the right thing to do. Hopefully the mail correspondence will bear more fruits than the hopeless live chat I tried weeks ago.

I will of course let you all know if they manage to come up with a fix.

This is... seriously I am having the same issue. With one friend, we can't connect to each other at all ever - we need another to host, and if the host is switched to one of us we are auto-dc'd immediately.

Just got dropped at the end of Wave 8 in a Gold match and couldn't reconnect because the JOINING GAME... would forever loop.

Bioware KNOWS about this issue (Lord knows there are enough threads about it) and yet it still persists! Public matches are (or appear) fine, but friends - the very people we'd WANT TO PLAY WITH - are barred.

Seriously angry right now; the main draw of the MP is stunted by poor design.

I just lost all hope for getting anything from customer support. Over a week with the ticket, and they still have not been able to access the files I sent them, even though I did it exactly like they specified - twice. They obviously have no idea what they're doing.

Yeah, their 'tech support' are not in fact the programmers who actually MADE the product and know how it works - they're just people hired to go through the A-B-C lists. If your issue isn't on the list, they don't know how to handle it.

I've had this problem since the demo. On one thread a Bioware mod claims the issue has to do with "incompatible router configurations."
Unfortunately, that is bull. A friend of mine is able to connect to me (and I to him) just fine when he plays on one computer on his network, but not the other. He has set up port forwarding for the computer that cannot connect, but this did not solve the problem.
I have, through trial and error with all the people I cannot join except through a third party, eliminated: firewall (router and windows), port forwarding, UPnP, and antivirus as possible sources of this problem.
Also, sometimes I will not be able to join people I used to be able to join just fine. It seems to be completely random, even though I'm sure there is an explanation for it.

When are you going to recognize this issue, Bioware? Every single person on my friend list has at least one or more people they cannot connect with except through a third party!!

Customer support replied. They blamed it on packet loss, and told me I should contact my ISP about it. I've never dealt with packet loss, nor do I really know what it really means. Whether or not my ISP can or will actually fix it will be interesting to see. Even more interesting would be whether or not it fixes my problems.

Still a problem, and while it may be due to packet loss, it's probably not your ISP.

I have the same issue and it is not definitely about any packet loss and ISP issue. Friend simply cannot join game and game got stuck on "connecting to game" loading screen. It is unbelievable how bioware and ea treat paying customers and not dealing with such important issue with multiplayer for many weeks. Shame on you...
