I also had huge probs connecting to MP games. actually I couldn't at all for about 6 mths since March whe I got the game. I always got stuck on the loading game spining disk and that was it.
I spent ages reading about Ports and Forwarding and NAT and a LOT of other stuff that I really didn't want to know
(I'm not a techie).So after mts of trying every possible solution my Tech Dept (at work) advised changing my actual Router from the provider supplied POS ( an official tech term that means ''piece of s***'') to a more up to date modern router with all that b/g/n stuff.
It Worked.
from day one of the new router (I didn't even get the best - A NetGear N300 sufficed) I've connected instantly with no changes or dev work on my part neaded.
So as a Solution 'X': if all else didn't work - try a new router? It worked for me and was stupidly ease.
(incidentally I connect through Wireless).
