So, anyone here a tea drinker?

Not just your typical lemon iced tea stuff, I mean hot tea. Your blacks, greens, chais, rooibos, whites, etc etc.

Figured I'd ask. Find out what you guys like. What teas you drink, how you prepare them, what you do to them, things like that.

In my case-

My dad(over at his ashram in Upstate New York) makes the best tea I've ever had in my life.

He has his own blend, he modifies it with spices and the like, and it is just incredible. An old royal recipe the Mohan family has.

Mom on the other hand makes teas herself, though hers are types she buys from stores. Usual stuff. She prefers chai- I guess my dad rubbed off on her all those years ago(they're divorced and live hundreds of miles apart, haha).

As for me personally, I've discovered http://www.adagio.com/ through a friend and I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE what they've got.

Adagio has tons of choices. Teas from all over the world, teas of all different kinds.

I bought their Black Dragon Pearls on Friday, and received them today(Monday).

I also bought their IngenuiTEA infuser. Worked wonderfully since I bought the tea loose-leaf.

I live in the same state they operate from so shipping was fast as hell.

The Black Dragon Pearls were awesome. There was supposed to be cocoa undertones, but I didn't taste them. I imagine I might when I get used to it. Anyway, here are pictures!

I just love me some tea.

I'm just sorry I cannot afford any good stuff right now - only the occasional green or white at some fancy, often chinese restaurant.

Will have my eye on this Adagio site you recommend... Do you have any specific recs for white and green tea?

edit: I will buy something off some site someday, we don't have any decent store in town, and I'd fancy an occasional sip - even if it would be somewhat unbecoming of my rations-keeping student-life.

I hate drinking tea or coffee, i don't know why people drink it in the morning. I don't feel any different if i did drink in the morning.

Those black dragon pearls looks like weed.

Recommendations for whites and greens? Adagio has plenty whites and greens, though I haven't purchased any from them as of yet.

I'd ask my friend but she pretty much just gets their chais.

Here's links to their whites and greens though, if you'd like to take a risk and hope for the best.

Adagio's Whites
Adagio's Greens

To be safe, go with the highest and most rated teas. If you see a tea of theirs with the rating shown on the page, it means its one of their highest rated teas. Also check to see how many times they've been reviewed.

You can read the reviews on the left of the page when you click on a specific tea.

Coffee and tea isn't for everybody, thats for sure. Though I imagine if hot tea isn't your thing, a nice iced tea shouldn't be a problem.

And as it turns out, Adagio sells iced teas as well.

Hm, might i have to purchase on next time i see a iced tea bottle. Is iced tea supposed to help get through the day? Or is it just a normal beverage to enjoy?

I really don't like hot drinks in the mornings i guess, i either prefer a glass of iced cold water or cold milk.

Iced tea is both- a refreshing drink to have all the time or an invigorating beverage to imbibe when you need energy.

Though it depends what iced tea you purchase- most common is lemon-flavored iced teas. You can get those anywhere- supermarkets to dollar stores.

Then you have other kinds, like Southern style Sweet tea, though I don't recommend it if you don't have a sweet tooth.

You've got iced tea of all different flavors out there- lemon, raspberry, peach, etc etc.

Had a lot of hippie friends that tried to get me into teas. Can't really stomach the taste. Wish I did though, it's a cheaper drink to be obsessed over than tequila or vodka.

Tea>alcohol.

Though I do love me some Guinness.

I made a promise to a friend of mine(now in the afterlife) that I'd never get drunk, so while beer is nice, I rarely touch it.

I need alternatives that won't make my mind go wonky(never been drunk, never will be).

You don't on drinking to get s*itfaced. That's for people who are new to drinking. Clear liquors are usually benign, so vodka and gold tequila is pretty good.

Can't stand hot Tea at all. Heck even my Green Tea I have to add ice too. Minus Sweet Tea Lemon Tea, thats as exotic as my tea drinking gets is Green Tea, or Green Tea with Citrus.

I've had a white russian once. Not bad. I don't mind vodka, but if I have it, its in a mixed drink and I NEVER have mixed drinks.

As far as alcohol and tea are concerned, I imagine someone at some point will bring up Long Island Iced Teas. hahaha

Don't blame you. Takes time for some to get accustomed to hot tea if they aren't used to it. Some never end up enjoying it.

Variety in tastes and all that.

Not really. I've just experienced the World's Best Cup of Tea(my dad's).

Being that I'm multicultural and have royal ties to friggen everywhere apparently(Prince of All Princes, hell yes), I'm open to trying things from all over the World.

That means all the teas of Terra.
