English Breakfast tea is Chinese because the English needed a strong tea to fit their breakfasts.

Turns out a specific Chinese tea was strong enough. Hence, English Breakfast.

Same story with Irish Breakfast tea, except that tea is Indian.

Then again, Ireland and India have relative interests- for example, one of my royal lines being the Mohan line- an Irish and Indian name.

I have no idea why but that reminds me of the longest day film when on D-day the English stoped there attack for Tea Time. I found out that actully really happend soon there after. Till this Day the English facination with Tea makes me slightly confussed. It also tells me to beat England I only need to do two things.

Attack at improper times and cut off the nations tea supply.

I'm English, so tea is a must. In fact I'll make myself a brew right now.

Now that's the spirit.

We need details- what kind of tea is it? How do you like it?

Use a sweetener? What kind if so? Sugar, honey, etc etc.

But tea isn't....how do you Americans say it? You know? It's not my cup of tea.

I don't always drink tea, but when I do, I drink Earl Grey.

I'm the most interesting buccaneer in the world.

I'm something of a tea expert myself, and in 5 simple steps, you too can make the perceft cup of tea.

How to make tea:
Step 1. Fill a 16 oz pyrex measuring cup with water.
Image IPB
Step 2. Microwave until the water boils.
Step 3. Drop a tea bag into the cup, and leave it there until the water is the same color as the leaves.

Step 4. Leave the bag in the cup, and microwave it until the tea boils again.
Step 5. Serve in coffee mugs painted with gilded age era boathouses.

Actully I disticntly remember an icecream and shake shop, like one of those ole timey style ones with all sorts of choices and I remember that being on the menu. I bet it would be nasty.

Teashakes that is.

I'm open to drinking just about any kind of tea, but I think I'm partial to green tea now. My mom was from China, but oddly enough she seemed to be into the Lipton tea bags instead of prepping loose leaves. *shrug* I, being lazy, stick to that if I'm drinking hot tea. A friend gave me some flowering tea (black tea w/jasmine) as part of a Christmas gift pack of delicious food, so I might actually brew up a pot at some point. Oh, I do tend to drink a fair amount of pomegranate green tea (the bottled stuff) as well.

I find loose leaf tea to be better than tea in teabag form because of expansion.

I enjoy tea when possible, but the prices are often prohibitive, especially when going loose-leaf. Might just be an American thing though - loose leaf tea is considered a "luxury" or "organic" item and is priced as such.

My staple beverage (fills the same role as tea/coffee) is Diet Dr. Pepper.

Bow before its greatness, lesser alkaloid containing beverages!

Well, you can always stick to the sample sizes on Adagio, at least.

Pardon my ignorance, but is that a retail store (if it is there aren't any around) or a website?

I loves me some tea, as it has the lovely property of helping you digest whatever crap you've eaten today and help you feel clean.

That said, my favorite blend is Darjeeling.
