Buff for lift grenades mean a buff for Krogan Sentinels, like they aren't powerfull enough right now...

Can't rollout the buffs/nerfs 'cause they're busy FIXING GLITCHES... eh, eh?

Thanks for the update, thanks for the preview, and thanks for the buffs (and hopefully lack of nerfs).

Good job.

From all the gaming communities I've been following, I think this is the first I've seen that seems to treat nerfs as a taboo, some kind of evil incarnate, loathing the very idea rather than weighing pros and cons of individual decisions.

You don't get balance by just adding, sometimes it takes subtracting. 9 nerfs to 60-something buffs so far, the game still exists, apparently no less fun as people are still playing and coming to the forums. One or two more likely won't break it. Why the hate?

And +1 to the wish that they'd fix serious bugs instead of fiddling with numbers.

You do realize that fiddling with a few values is a lot more simple than finding and fixing flaws in the code? And I mean A LOT. I'm as eager for bug fixes as the next guy, but sadly we have to settle for the fact that it takes time.

How much time precisely?  It's been 2 months since release.  How long does it usually take for online shooters to turn into digital ghost towns?  1 year?  8 months? 6?

I would've thought a bug-free experience would extend the life of MP, but I figure bug fixes 6 months down the line won't convince people to move back after having moved on to their next game.

Hey, did my 1st Solo Bronze w/ my Krogan Sentinel!  Image IPB

I'd certainly take any buffs they choose to handout, however.

It's good to see grenades getting some buffs, but the real problem with grenades is the cool down times in resupply. Right now it's strategically favorable to put all points in powers and use them quickly in a fierce fight with your team, than getting stuck running alone to various ammo crates.
Bottom line - "Decrease the wait for the Nades in the Crates"
:)

how about ya'll fix the bugs that are breaking the game, rather than balancing the multiplayer?

(lightweight materials, projectiles disappearing when not hosting, stasis causing wierd bugs in enemies, krogan vanguard not getting bonuses from rage)

Because balancing multiplayer is changing numbers in a database and fixing bugs is weeks of work that have nothing to do with the day job of the staff that keep making balance changes?

I would say too much. Don't get me wrong, I am fairly annoyed that there are still a lot of major bugs in the game, that have been around since the demo. And wasn't that supposedly a fairly old build already? However, the main point in that post was, that the balance patches should not slow down the bug fixing, as it's just simple tweaking of a few values.

Shockwave is indeed something almost never seen in multiplayer, so any buffs for it is nice. But frankly it probably won't change enough to make it more used. Human Vanguard doesn't really need it, and the only other character I can recall having it right now is Human Adept, which... isn't played much at all (was my first MP character though). Rare to run into one. No surprise really, since Singularity is kinda lackluster in harder difficulties since it doesn't lift shielded or armored targets, and Shockwave... yeah. I guess mostly it's good for detonating Warps, but its very limited range really hampers that too.

Actually the Batarian Sentinel could probably benefit from a buffed Shockwave as Submission Net ain't a exactly a fast hitter. Hopefully they'd fix the bugs with Shockwave first before buffing it.

I don't think anybody really hates nerfs here. It's just that there's so much **** guns and powers that aren't viable past silver and nerfing things that ARE good right now isn't the solution and shouldn't be their top priorities. Are nerfs a fundamental aspect of balancing? Hell yes. Is now the time? Hell no.

Really all Shockwave needs to be a good power is a wider and longer base area of effect. It should cover at least a 90 degree cone for about 12 meters to start with. Then players can actually have a real choice of whether to buff the radius or distance and not have to be standing directly in front of Atlases and Brutes to detonate Warp.

I hope Shockwave becomes hideously OP because it will be fun watching all the elitists flock to the Human Adept. :P

True enough, yet even then they manage to botch that up.  N7 Eagle, utterly ignored.  Singularity Rank 6 detonate evolution made useless, not even acknowledged.  Mattock having higher DPS than the Saber(Uncommon VS Ultra Rare).  GPS, powerful enough to rival the Claymore with more shots.

Incisor, just fail.  Ultralight materials, they made it work for the Geth SMG, but neglected to do the same for the other 5 SMGs.  Indra, fail.  Saber, still worthless next to a Carnifex.  Ballistic Blades, still hits everything in a near 360 degree radius, and I'm sure that would just has its cone value screwed up.

All I need is a buff to either the Wraith or Saber, then I'll be happy.

My favorite shotgun and my favorite assault rifle, in their current state!

In other words: No buff needed in my opinion.

I'd like to see a buff to cryo explosion damage and turret abilities on the QE. Maybe even shield restore like the Geth turret.

It's not like they were ever going to do anything about the bugs cause they don't increase cash flow like new characters do...

My new favorites with my GI. But everyone says they suck or something so I'm just gonna roll with it and say they suck in hopes of more buffs. :D

Hopefully the Shockwave buff is either a range boost or the removal of shaking team mate's cameras.

So you're posting in a thread about balance, while not really being interested in balance, only in making your babies get special privileges? Good thing you just undermined your own request. Maybe your subconscious felt guilty.

I will never ask for buffing the Wraith and Saber, because they are my favorites.

Great. Was considering promoting my Asari Vanguard earlier today to remove the points I have in Lift Grenades and put them in Fitness instead, but glad I didn't now.

Unfortunately, we will not be able to push balance changes today. We will try to get them out as soon as possible.

But as a short preview of the planned changes, I can say we will be buffing a few powers including Shockwave, Lift Grenade, Marksman, and Adrenaline Rush.

Sweet, thanks for the info. I have a feeling I won't want to be using my infiltrator in random matches once the shockwave buff gets out though, lol.

Can anybody hear who has a good amount of experience using marksman tell me why so many people rave about it? I'm reading through the power tree and all I see is rate of fire/accuracy. ROF I guess could come in handy, but nothing else really appeals to me about that particular power. Granted my opinion is based more on ignorance rather than actual experience. I just promoted my soldier class and was considering spec'n marksman. I'm just not sold on it at this point.

Which is why I'm asking for some input/opinion from the forums. Keep in mind the benefits of a gold set-up. I'm not too interested in how well it functions on bronze/silver. Thanks for the input!
