Ah yes this "Extended Cut" that your talking about, will it just be more cutscenes, or are you/they retconning the ending?

They've always said no retcon.

So think about it....if less is more than what should be less are the multiple 'even' spread focus across MP and SP gaming department, more energy put in mucyh more in SP diverting funds from mplayer, and then what to say we can't have dlc of the quality after the ending is released to be comparable and in terms of quanity to what was released in ME2?

Is there very much energy going into MP? I haven't seen anything released for MP that would take much work at all, but I admit I haven't paid much attention to MP.

One kicker as a big Videogame sales company explained to me was that Bioware pretty much hasn't really failed before. They came out of the gate as a legendary company having cranked out 3 major epic titles, after which it's like the company became a little too confident and arrogant. So perhaps in this over confidence they neglected things they focused on in the past. Sometimes you have to fall to humble yourself again. It certainly didn't bode well for some when certain creators referred to themselves as gods in some game forums. Point is... no matter how big you get... you can still fall and sometimes it can hurt more.

.

Wha.....? No.  Really?

Well, if that's true, then somebody should have read them the rest of the story. The mortal peasants inevitably end up "Eating" the gods. They may worship them at first, but then something happens. Usually arrogance takes hold. And the gods feel they can do whatever they want. The mortal peasants finally have enough, and balk. Revolt. Trespass into the gods territory...hunt them down and eat them. More, or less. Haha.

Being a god is dicey business. I wouldn't wish that on anybody. Now, sure the mortals may feel bad about it later. As they're picking the remains of the gods from their teeth. And swilling down ale from their skulls, but there it is.

The gods come and go. Just as game devs do. However, the gamer remains. We're like cockroaches and rats. Say what you want---we'll be here long after you've become nothing more than a myth from bygone ages.

Stay hungry, BW. You can't rely on the successes of the past. Just as you can't fixate on the failures of the past. Everytime is the first time. Take what you need, and leave the rest. You've got something to prove each time.

That is all. :P

It may have been taken a bit out of context when I said 1 large quality dlc is better than a ahndful of smaller ones. I agree the numerous ones from ME2 added quite well. I simply meant it more to mean that i'd rather bioware take their time to ensure EC is done well, or any dlc for that matter is done well, rather than simply focusing on cranking out dlc after dlc. I'll gladly take a hundred dlc's if they release them, so long as it's something of quality.

One has to consider and at least question why ME3's time table was pushed up. Originally it shouldn't have been ready until Nov. of this year. So it had a 8 month jump ahead of the planned schedule. That's where it concerned me in the end. If there were truly so many things left open ended, and elements truly felt rushed... clearly the product wasn't ready or to the quality standard its predacessors were held to. (ex. The inevitable reveal of lack of writing staff input on the ending).

And this doesn't mean I wanted to see a happy ending or any of that stuff. Could mean they (Bioware) got overly excited to push it out their, or overly confident in their ability and decided they didn't need as much time. Some could argue that EA is to blame... and while there might have been pressure to get it done, EA has always put out quality sports titles. IF ME3 bombed... it would hurt them as much as Bioware. And the game itself... the problem doesn't lie in programming, map layouts, cutscene sequences. The problem stemmed from writing, or the lack of it in areas.

Bioware wanted to be groundbreaking and prove a game could remain open to numerous conclusions to the end based on the numerous choices and actions of the player and be hugely successful. And while I believe that is certainly doable... from the ending Bioware sort of took a defeated knee in a sense by revealing in essence a single ending.

They should have offered more ending results, happy, neutral and death. It was clearly doable and would have satisfied any and all players to their preference as well as follow through with their initial promise.

Then if the above is done, the budget stays in the black from the companies perspective (not that it will go in deficit given the record sales of ME3 worldwide that have already surpassed ME 2 total gross profit in any event so is there really an justified 'excuse' in those circumstances for any company to cry poor? and restrict the amount of future SP content i asking generally not saying specifically in relqation to BIOWARE at all. On contrary i believe and hope EA will give them the flexibility that BIOWARE are entitled to to ensure us the fans are satisfied

LoL. I like how you put it Rap....
And very true... every new game should be approached as being the first time. I would perhaps agree to your other remark by modifying it slightly by saying that you can't fixate on the failures of the past, but you do need to learn from them.

They know that DLC sales will be horrid if they don't fix the ending.

I don't know about horrid. There's likely just as many who don't care either way or liked it as was. Effected sales? Of course... Perhaps even noticeably. But it's certainly clear the number of those who voice outrage was strong enough that Bioware had a bit of an "Oh s&@$" moment.
