Me and my krant went against the Reapers on the base of ghosts... And we left a bunch of ghosts when we got a full extraction...

And a full extraction means just that.... Full... Or all.... Or everyone.... Anything less is partial or lone extraction.

Arghhh on PS3 no message is up, which means most people can't even be arsed to get extracted. I've just been through 4 matches where some pillock's bled out in the last round.

Thats how MP has always been. Us taking back maps from the enemy.

But for 10 waves only. Wave 11 we run away to come back later and finish the job.

Two thoughts:

One

It never fails to amaze me how the excitement of shooting stuff completely over-rides the part of the brain that says 'move your arse into the extraction zone'. Standing 5 feet outsde of extraction is a habit I see in people hacking as well - if they are not going to stand 'in' the hack, 5 feet outside in the open is not great. Other extraction fails include not paying attention to grenades in the last 5 seconds, and 'cool dude' attitude of going away from the party and getting killed (nothing wrong with the whole party being away from extraction on silver or gold) . Final dumb tactic is leaving a run to extraction to the last second and just not making it back (quite) in time. Best habit to prevent (but not eliminate) extraction fails is for a player to call out on mic '20 seconds' and for the team to act on it.

If I've missed any Bioware pronouncement on the subject, I'm sorry. But there was a disconnect between the announcement on ths forum (full extraction) and the Operation splash-screen (extraction) so it 'may' be that a partial extraction where you extracted 'will' get you the Eage you've been looking for... :-)

But I suspect you will not leave that to chance...

I saw what u did thar... it went quite well considering that no one used their mics (+me lacking supersoldier skills), sticking together helped alot.

I'm shocked and relieved that I was able to get a Gold extraction (my first ever) this morning. Then another one after that. I might start playing Gold more often, since I've been holding my own (1st or 2nd place in points) so far.

On the in-game screen it just said extraction.

aight, after playing a couple hours last night, the only thing i see stopping us from acheiving the 3 million banshees goal is the servers....in my couple hours, i was only able to complete about 7 games(meaning finishing, getting the ending screen with results)....the rest of the time, i kept getting disconnected, whether it was during a game or even before a game started...

Allready tried 3 times to go for Gold, but I'm not that good and a lot of players even worse then me. So gold is only frustrating like that. And it isn't even the sheer number of all enemies, they go down a lot harder, even with some good equipment loaded. The difference is too big for me. I'll kill some banshees on lower levels, but gold isn't even fun anymore.

And I agree, it's hard to find lobbies, last few days.And it happens often that  I can't do damage, can't climb stairs, can't enable things and can't revive teammates. Probably because the host didn't configure his router correctly or are these origin probs ?

Did the good ole' FBWGG last night - man, what a furpile!

It was totally insane, there were a few occassions (the hacking objective comes to mind) where we had Geth coming at us from all sides and did that famous "I go down you revive me, you go down I revive you" endless cycle - I saw a suggestion about implementing some sort of ghosting protocol after being revived, which I think is a brilliant idea, cuz that endless dance was just beyond insane, get up with a big red bullseye painted on my forehead and not being able to do s**t - in addition to the slightly less insane cuddle party with 4 Geth Primes and 6 Rocket Troopers. I still don't know how it happened but SOMEHOW we managed to get full extraction.

Thank you SOOO much to my team, we did it... I don't know how, but we did it! 

That was my first Gold try last night and yep, I'm still reeling from it. Course been trying to do random Gold matches today but no matter what map/enemy combination I end up with, just seem incapable of finishing another successful Gold run; even on "that piece of cake map with those paper thin enemies".

I did get kicked once from the lobby because the team didn't like my choice of armour dye or whatever else (N7 330-something rating with my best class being a Human Engineer, lvl 20, sporting Mattock X and whenever going into Gold, I always grab some equipment to aid in my pathetic efforts), did experience a number of those "skip the Gold lobby to be dumped right smack in the middle of World War III" and even managed to be dumped in the middle of a Silver match when selecting Gold.

eh... Between all that and just not being able to experience another successful Gold run... I guess it must be me. I must totally suck and guess I better stick to Bronze so as not to ruin the experience for others.

well, that's easy. the text is valid for every crewmember. if everyone suvives until extraction.... that is what most of time ends as full extraction. Or do you think it implies everyone survives anywhere but jut not in the LZ?

That's not how it works. During Operation Exorcist, as long as one person survived until extraction, the entire squad gets commendation packs.

Good thing this isnt Operation Exorcist. They probably realized it was too easy for the non-gold players to just join a game let the others do the work while they died before extraction.

And again, if Bill, Sally, John and Tim all get a message saying they have to survive to compete the goal, then it would be a Full extraction.

Look at the picture, the description for this operation's squad goal is exactly the same as it was for Operation Exorcist.

Also, when you get a message that says "survive until extraction", it's not telling you explicitly to survive, it's addressed to your squad. It's telling your squad to survive, which means as long as one person survives it's considered a success.

so eather chris got it wrong or the screen writers for the program got it wrong  or were alll playing in a dream and it dont matter eather way.......

if u do FBW and do the extraction trick it's 100% full extraction
When 10 ends you run right to the bottom of the stairs where the ammo is and the cerberous logo is on the wall. stand there
Put the decoy in the main room right in the gap tween that counter and the wall and the geth stack only in the room. Rocket the roof and get a killstreak if you want to do that.
At 30 seconds just walk up the stairs and out the front and wait at the ship. It's too easy

do that if you have had a hard time extracting on gold and want a easy way

Seems to be a little confusion. According to this thread, we need a full extraction for the squad goal. On the in-game pop-up that talks about the event, it says the same thing it did last time, where it's just an extraction in general. Which is it?

Go and try for the Full Extraction anyway. Should always be your goal to try and not be lazy about it after the 10th wave.

I've already done my Squad goal last night, but I've been spending some time helping others reach it this weekend.

Wow... Sooo... After eight tries today, including the notorious FBWGG, I finally completed my squad goal on the most strange of sets. It was my first game ever with Turian Soldier (not kidding, I was just wondering how the Marksman talent works in group, and I didn't notice that I am lobbying for gold), against Cerberus, on Firebase Ghost. Very, very hard. Alas, we prevailed and scored a full and well deserved extraction. First time this weekend. I bet that in the end, we had about 50 revives together...
