One word : Chat.

It'd make it easier for people who have a bad mic or can't speak english.

.... you realize that would mean people would be stopping to type every two minutes, right? That would be retarded.

Right, because this sort of thing has never been implemented in any PC shooter before today... Yes, typing is often slower than talking, but not communicating at all is far worse.

in most cases, I would agree, but not in me3. This is a game where you have to survive waves of enemies. If somebody stops to chat, they could die and easily lose the game for everyone.

In retrospect, I get the feeling BW is actually considering implementing text chat. See, ME3 uses Unreal Engine 3, which by default has a button bound for text chat (T). I'm not sure if it's still there, but when I checked the controls shortly after getting ME3, it was even listed under keybinds; it did nothing though. Recently I was changing some keybinds and tried to use T for something else, and got an error message saying I couldn't use that key because it was unchangeably bound to a different function. It still does nothing as far as I know; maybe they'll implement text chat with a patch at some point?

I seriously hope not. If they do, it'll ruin the game for a lot of players (Specifically gold players, but probably silver and bronze, too) because we'd have a bunch of noobs stopping to chat every two seconds, causing their deaths and unbalancing the odds. Might cause match losses, and if they add it in, I guarentee you the majority of fans will be pissed at Bioware. I think Bioware already know this, though, so I doubt they will add them.

I disagree. I think more communication will benefit us.

We already have a perfectly serviceable means of communication during the game.  Chat would serve no purpose other than a distraction from the game.  Just because half the people out there choose not to turn on their mics does not mean that others can not communicate with a single push of a button rather than, typing long chats.  The only time that chat would be useful is locating games, or during the pre-game cycle.  Let's not forget that may of these players are on XBox which does not have any form of keyboard.  Can you imagine them trying to cycle through the Alphabet with a controller while still playing the game.  Chat = Really, really bad idea.

we do have a keyboard. it's called a chatpad it goes under the controller. it is awesomesauce:ph34r:

Textbased chat in ME3 MP on Xbox 360 is simply not going to happen.

Is there a way to check on a Weekend Challenge progress? Because if its
just blind luck we actually accomplish a community goal and get victory
packs then its like...going to war blind, with no Intel during a
mission. People could participate more in Silver and Gold if they
realized that would be the only way to kill enough targets by the due
date. I Played Gold most of the Weekend exclusively against Reapers to
help the cause, won only once. I probably Killed over 40 Banshees to a
heavy cursing cost...but in the end it was for nothing. The community
was unaware of the actual kill demand being made on them.

It's unfair I say. I take this challenges seriously (and spend weekend time on them)...for the sake of Alliance space... :)

And Banshees are really overpowered. Many classes have NO CHANCE
of wearing them down...even less surviving 3 at the same time on gold
along with Brute droves alongside.Try killing them with an all
Infiltrator team...you'll see how they roll all over you. (It's
hilarious too see it happen though).

I always go back to the engineer, specially now that Biotics have been toned down.

I gotta say I don't really care about the victory packs. A few medigels and some ammo or something. Who cares? The commendation packs are all that's worth playing for.

I guess the player numbers have got to be dropping by now as well, so some of these targets are going to get harder to achieve.

thats what happens when you leave the player feeling like the reapers won. not to mention the biggest perk of multiplayer was "your characters go to fight with sheperd" but hell why does it matter? they all die anyway
so why increase your readiness at all. you can get the exact same ending with 3,500 readiness or 9000.
so naturally people dont want to play anymore.

I keep playing, hoping to unlock the Prothean Beam rifle for MP someday...and maxing out most weapons so I can upgrade it quickly to "reaper beam" status. It's a fantasy. But still...I keep imagining how kick-ass that would be.

I actually have beaten reaper gold with 4 infiltrators. Firebase giant. On a side note, I got 2 full extractions on gold this weekend ( only played 2 games) but I have yet to get my Commendation pack. Anyone know why?

Well, for me i dont use any promotional weapons.i cant use Hurricane and dont understand why people adore it.I cant shoot with it :/And i dont like shotguns so Crusader is useless for me.i dont have N7 Eagle and Collector Rifle cant say anything about it But it would be cool to have all weapons.I use sniper mostly and prefer BW against Valiant.

The release of packs is complete so everybody that should have received a commendation pack for Operation Silencer should have it now.

If you haven’t got your commendation pack and you think you should have had, please contact EA Customer Support.

Remember: The Commendation Pack is valid only until the end of Monday, May 21. Redeem or contact EA CS before that deadline. :)

I Agree. For a 9,000 readiness rating, and 100% galactic readiness...I
expected the fleet to FORCE a reaper retreat. No Victory, make them
retreat with decent numbers as to make them a serious but defeated
enemy. That way we would have gotten a pretext for another Mass Effect
arc and destroyed enough of them to make the consider less risky and
direct invasion tactics.

For me, what killed the game was the ABSOLUTE Rachni letdown. The queen
said: "Our crescendo will burn the darkness clean"...YEAH RIGHT.

Would have preferred a Rachni betrayal, and another Multiplayer faction.

I did't mean the Collector Rifle. I got that one.

I meant the Prothean Beam rifle. The one that fires a unending beam.

I don't think most people who are still playing MP are doing so because of anything to do with single player. I play MP quite a lot and to my mind the experience is independent from single player at this point.

Me too Fnordamatic. I do like promoting characters into single player (helpful because I am presently playing Me3 with my first, and horribly worst ME2 import. Most of the squad is dead and no DLC). But I keep playing MP because its fun. The guys I play with are good squadies. And although I think I might be developing post traumatic stress from being killed by waves of Banshees and Brutes on gold level, it's just plain old fun.
