I’ve got some real-life time constraints pressing on me for the next two weeks at least…I’ll try not slow down too much, so I think still two chapters a week. I need the escape into writing myself, so don’t worry

Do feel free to harangue me about it, I always did work best with external deadlines…

I’m curious to see if anyone can create as vivid a scene in their head from my sketched description of you-know-what as I did. I erred on the side of imagination, but might readjust later… I should point out that you-know-what is not the same experience as you-know-what.

I would actually go in a much less coherent route for you-know-what. But I liked what you did there. And all in all, this was another excellent chapter. So, in the spirit of continuing to be an insufferably chapter-hungry reader... Next part will be up tomorrow... right? Right?

I tend to see you-know-what as a highly controlled thing, which is why it is hard and tiresome. You-know-what, on the other hand, is a more natural state of things. Sorta. For some, at least.

Hopefully time crunch will ease up in a week, two, so that I can get into a slightly more regular schedule again.

In the meanwhile, I probably do have the opportunity to do some copyediting on the existing chapters (just went through Ch. 1 in fact) since I can do it on the web and it doesn’t require solid continuous blocks of time. There will be no story/plot changes at all, no need to worry you’re missing anything, just improving the flow of text where needed.

Looks like I might have a little more again…can’t promise a steady schedule yet, but more time, anyway.

I mentioned earlier that I’m copyediting the early chapters…I got through 1 & 2, doing 3 now. I think they could indeed use some more extensive work, still, but that requires more time. I think they’re mostly OK now.

Anyway, if someone wants to take a look, I’d appreciate notes on the general flow of the text — especially if you read the original versions in May. I think it’s somewhat improved now. Anything else too, of course, but removing jumpiness etc. was the main goal this pass.

Damn you... You actually have the nerve to go ahead and write something this good? I'm totally hooked now  I'm currently at chapter 21, only began last week I think, and I just know that I'll soon end up having to wait for new chapters to arrive! That's exactly the kind of anticipation you don't need when you've still got two weeks of summer holidays and way too much time on your hands

There are many strong points about it, the believable characters and detailed plot probably being the main reason I've been unable to let it go. No one is acting in a way that breaks the "illusion" for you (as I've experienced with other fan-fics - although maybe it's a result of Shepard still being out?) and I find myself just wanting to read on and on... The language is also of above-average quality

A few typos appear from time to time, nothing that hurts the experience, but if you want, I can make a note of any I see and inform you via PM? I'm a bit of a perfectionist myself and would only want others to do the same for me, but I've also had negative experiences where people took it the wrong way, so I don't want to do it unless you'd like it

But above all: keep writing whenever you can (and, I guess, if you feel like it, but... you know, maybe also when you don't? --- kidding ). I'm very much looking forward to seeing where this story will take us!

I did make a little boo-boo with the planetary cycles—I was ear-deep in figuring out how I’d handle time conversions so I accidentally inverted them originally, but of course both Palaven and Rannoch have longer days than Earth. Somewhat detaily, but had to fix that…

I’m curious if oldharryold and Drussius’ guesses on the lovelorn gentleman’s identity turned out to be correct
